Trump runs the country on borrowed money that goes back to the richest. Budget deficits of over a trillion are added up. the debt was 23 trillion at the end of 2019.
Ask anyone about this and how it will turn out when the bubble bursts again.
Then the budget must be balanced again and the debt must be paid in.
Then the richest have again thrown the cards on the stock exchange and the people are left with the debt. Something that involves you and me.

Trump did add the final screw up in a long series of screwups. My opinion before the election was it’s fine if he tears up TPP so long as he replaces with something negotiated on behalf of the people and not corporate interests in place. TPP was written by big money interests. But the underlying goal was to strengthen our trade alliances with other countries trading with China and force them with concerted economic pressure into a framework of U.S. design. Going solo with sanctions only accelerated the plan they had to go down. Broadly, they leveraged the one advantage they had which was a massive cheap labor force to build an export based economy. 2)next, convert to a domestic markets driven economy. While setting up part 3 with tech transfer and research stealing. 3) skill up their population and research centers to make use of ripped IP and leapfrog to the front. 4) ongoing, get countries in debt to you and diversify their resource and food supply lines, while strengthening trade partners. Silk Road/Golden Belt. This was coming anyway and they knew it. Only now, not under a framework controlled by us, we unilaterally act to little effect. They slip out from the debt and trade symbiosis while we have a hammer of debt hanging over us. They will become a world reserve currency like us with all the advantages. We wasted so much money on war and corporate giveaways while they saved and invested in themselves. We as a people were duped into forgetting that the real strength of the U.S. was a hard working, educated work force that lead to innovation. You can disagree with me and that’s of course your right, but it’s very similar to what we did post-WW2 while Europe and Russia were shelled out. As for innovation, go on Arxiv and look at papers on ML. Read names and you will figure out quickly that we need immigrants to keep our edge.
