    2. voldo3739 the reason people talk about Obama so much is because he was praised for his foreign policy, and look what happened. ISIS formed and Iran stepped up their funding of Hezbollah thus allowing them to wage proxy wars and terror attacks in the region. He was praised for the nuclear deal which essentially released money the US had frozen, allowing them to fund more terrorism, while the deal paused nuclear weapon development for just 10 years. It did not address anything else they were doing at the time with funding terror or testing ICBMs. Obama was praised for this, and then Ben Rhodes the architect of the deal later admitted that he pushed a false narrative to the media to get them to buy into the deal. But the deal was not anything binding like a treaty because it could have never made it through the senate. Fast forward to Trump, and the only retaliation Trump has put on Iran until killing Soleimani was economic sanctions. Trump orders the air strike, it kills the architect that essentially funds and plans all of these proxy wars and attacks, and Iran “retaliates” by letting everyone know there will be a missile strike, and then it’s all over. I think Trumps foreign policy is working out ok so far. WWIII hasn’t happened yet which is what the media wants because it would make Trump look bad. Now Iran could attack us tomorrow, but that would be stupid and they know that. If they come to the table and try to make a deal, the media’s heads are going to explode. If they don’t make a deal, their people are going to revolt so it’s a win win for US. Now having said that, I have a real problem with committing an act of war without congressional approval. You have to be able to act to threats, and if there are such threats have no problem with destroying them. It’s a hard balance to have because Congress is so political right now but this sort of thing should have to go before Congress so they can explain why they took action and should be reprimanded if it was not sufficient. I have remained consistent that a Bush era authorization should not have applied to the Obama administration and their operations in almost every country in the Middle East, and it should not apply to the Trump administration either. They should have to go before Congress and get approval as to what their operations are going to be in the Middle East for their term, but have the ability to defend the troops and our embassies accordingly. I feel like some common sense in Washington is what we are missing.

    1. @kilors Those unemployment figures didn’t start to change in 2017, they started to change in 2010. Job gains overall were less during 2019 than 2018 though. Ending the trade war will help but we’re only in the first phase of that and China is being coy about whether they will actually sign the agreement.

    1. There’s a reason why this guy is on CNN and not actually involved in foreign diplomacy.

      The problem with Trump’s foreign policy??? NOTHING!
      – Better trade deals
      – Getting terrorists to stand down
      – Increased security for the US (lowered the threat from North Korea. Remember the mistles going toward Guam?)
      – Got other European nations to pay into NATO
      – Increased border security and accountability
      – Added scrutiny to people flying from countries with high levels of terrorist activity
      – Less dependence on foreign oil
      ….

    2. @Charles Styron Tax cuts for the rich and banking deregulation caused the Great Depression, Reagan’s trickle down failure that crippled the middle class and the Bush mortgage and lending crisis. All of these had record breaking stock market advances. Drumpf isn’t inventing anything new but it will crash like the old lies. Educate yourself and stop believing a con man.
