Over the past 48 hours, at least 19 people have been killed and more than 100 injured after a new round of Russian attacks on Ukraine overnight. The targets include more than 20 Ukrainian cities and settlements. Former Russian Foreign Minister Andrei Kozyrev joins New Day to discuss. #CNN #News
In Ukraine – women and children flee.
In Russia – men flee.
Says it all really
@Mike Mulder No, it’s a special military operation.
@stsk Common practice in war times to call up all MILITARY AGE personell. Your “all” does not sit right, and I doubt it. Great great grandfather caring for 5, 10 & 13 yr. boys and travelling to Polad was not included in the call-up – nor were the boys.
@Nuevaesperanza de CA Wait a minute, I thought the wise Ukrainian rep said that nobody is fleeing Ukraine anyways, rather people are returning to fight! So why the ban?
Need to hear from guests not interrupted by anchors who have no expertise or insights into subject matter. Let guests finish sentences n make their points in full.
@Christine Marshall I don’t like Tucker either, but he is not a news anchor, he is a political commentator.
@Thincastle That’s obvious but the point I’m making is a large proportion of your compatriots regard Fox as a news outlet. Btw did you see the interview of president Macron on CNN today, this was an in depth interview by Jake Tapper and was superlative.
@Benjamin That’s not true. MAGA’s don’t listen to CNN. This was not an in depth interview, unlike the interview of President Macron by Jake Tapper (CNN), it was excellent.
He was for sure told by his earpiece to get it moving.
News stations like the CNN and many others run by a very strict program with very little time for each subject.
They must rush to the next subject or the next commercial break.
It is extremely frustrating to watch this.
I think CNN in general do a very good job, but these short segments and the stress to continue to next one, is irritating.
I wish they would have longer segments when the subject is so extremely important and interesting as this one.
This is an intelligent man who seems to know Putin very well. Truth!
@Heywood Jablowme ok boris
@Marvin Westmaas ok groomer
Andrei Kozyrev is a knowledgeable person. He should be invited on CNN more often.
No, he is not. His poor English reflects precisely his poor thinking capacity
He should be invited much more. He is very smart and knows what he is talking about. I have only seen him twice since the war started.
Yeah, but fear is what sells so that’s the last we’ll see of the former FM.
@Kiab Toom Lauj His leaving Russia with Putin in charge does definitely demonstrate his intelligence.
Why would anyone continue to live in that nightmare of a country if they had the opportunity to leave?
This man knows of what he says.
Well we can only hope. I think the Ex-Russian in the interview made one error in his assessment and that’s assuming that Putin is rational. I mean we all can agree that Putin “was” rational, but after his Covid paranoia I’m not so sure anymore. I mean, What rational man would start an expensive war like this? when his own country, Russia is already in financial despair (even if he ignore the financial sanctions, starting a war is super expensive) its a ticket for disaster. Not many rational people would do such a thing.
@cheapbruh As Mr. Kosiriev said, he started it because of his miscalculation number 1: he taught that his army will walk through Ukraine like breeze and everything will be finished in his favour! It was rationale idea based on a very wrong foundation!
@dp I appreciate your effort in trying to rewrite the definition of being rational, but that unfortunately doesn’t change the meaning of the word.
@cheapbruh I agree with dp. He’s rational, but messed up big time, now in too deep
He understands Putin and Russia more than most of these pundits we hear all the time.
@Davian Alexander okay then you tell us…since you believe that you know
@Minerva Owl A Vietnam vet having 1 year of internet🤔😂
Mike Mulder Your morally depraved impish squeal proves my point. Thanks.
@stagg21 people say what they want they want the world to believe on mainstream media
@Davian Alexander Literally no one any American news agency could get ahold of would understand the system in question better than this guy. Why don’t you Google him.
A very clever man. He provided good insight to the current situation.
I had a Cuban Cigar with the man Putin.. I call him P monster when we meet for lunch 😋 😄
And most importantly, he started the interview by providing a brief summary of these 3 major miscalculations, instead of randomly talking for 5 to 10 minutes like some experts do!
This man is the real deal and not a Soviet relic of the Lavarov type.
Haha. I am a rap artist.
100
@JX100 what ? 🤣
@Nick Ward in agreement with my point of view of course.
@Longji Dalu sounds like he is the real deal to me by the information and the way he put it forth I will be looking this man up after this video and I’ll bet he’s the real deal!!
“It is better to be feared than to be loved, if you can’t be both”.. Machiavelli
Putin might be a dictator, but this minister is reminding us that he is still human, afraid.. but needs to show his might in order to keep his people in check.
He seems to have a great understanding of the system and knows Putin will not resort to any nuclear weapons as long as he knows he can maintain his position in Russia.
He should be invited again to give more insights about the corruption in their internal political and military structures, and without interruptions.
@Edmund F. Kuell III, Spiritual Nutrition Master What do you expect from winter? The Russian army already has major supply problems. During the winter, starving Russian soldiers will freeze, die, or surrender en masse. Ukrainians are fighting in their country so they will be better supplied. And Western Europe? Well, yes – well-being will be a little less, but no disaster. I have been saving gas for environmental reasons for many years. So far this year, I haven’t needed heating and my apartment is at least 19 degrees Celsius. In Western Europe, winters have been so mild in recent years that there is not enough snow for skiing. Most of the winter the temperature is above zero.
Finally, someone who didn’t butcher Machiavelli. However, displaying might by slaughtering civilians probably works on a six-year-old.
“Putin mantiene his position” this is the chance to help the Russians people. Help them to get ridoff Putin and then make Rusia great again.
The voice of reason and experience. Actually quite encouraging.
He really nailed it and gave the world a good insight into who Putin is . When he talked about his love for Western commodities and way of life .. Putin the biggest hypocrite..
With his army collapsing, all Putin has left is to lob in the missles out of sheer frustration. But it won’t help him. He will still lose the Donbas and maybe even Crimea. He won’t take Odesa and he certainly will not get regime change in Kyiv. In the meantime, he is making the Urkaine army madder and more determined than ever.
He’s like a two year old having a temper tantrum. Too bad the toys he’s throwing around actually kill people and destroy homes.
I like to hear what this guy has to say. He seems to know the ins and outs, and knows what could possibly be going on in his head. So y’all should put him on more! He has great insight and info. We need more people like him!!
This guy was Minister of Foreign Affairs in Russia which is a very close person to the president and the current minister Sergei Lavrov was his deputy at that time, so he knows what he is talking about.
Exactly. Some fools on here think he’s talking rubbish. They’re brainwashed
@Fanfeck they dont really think so. They re paid to claim they do
his 4th miscalculation was forgetting that corruption means his military is much better on paper than on the battlefield
Or how about the fact that he thought that over 20 years of promoting folks, within his general staff, based on loyalty rather than competence would create a strong military?
His 5th was to take anything he is being told by any of his subordinates as truth.
Putin reminds me of a gambler who’s had excellent luck while constantly risk taking all his life, then suddenly is paid back in full with a massive dose of bad luck brought on by one action. Bill Gates once sad,”Success is the worst teacher.”
“Western water”, “Good life”, exactly the point I’ve expressed about Putin from the start. Stand up to the bully in no uncertain terms. He knows he cannot use nukes. Call his bluff and nail him where it hurts, in the Black Sea Fleet.
And the Kerch bridge.
Thank you for bringing Andrei Kozyrev’s much appreciated wisdom to us. Hope we see moree of him.
I hope he’s allowed to talk if we do!
Need to have this guy on for a longer segment. He seems to have a ton of insight and there’s no way to get all that information through when you have a 5-6 minute time limit.
A Russian soldier ran up to a nun.
Out of breath he asked, “Please, may I hide under your skirt, I’ll explain later.”
The nun agreed.
A moment later two military police ran up and asked:
“Sister, have you seen a soldier?”
The nun replied, “He went that way.”
After the military police ran off, the soldier crawled out from under her
skirt and said, “I can’t thank you enough, Sister. You see, I don’t want to
go to Ukraine.”
The nun said, “I understand completely.”
The soldier added, “I hope I’m not rude, but you have a great pair of legs!”
The nun replied, “If you had looked a little higher, you would’ve seen a
great pair of balls too. I don’t want to go to Ukraine either.”
