I am pleased to see people paying attention and I take full responsibility for attempting present another side to this argument. My major concern now is not about Ghadaffi the man, though I am still shaken up by the assassination, but some of the core principles and projects. Who will push and finance unity among African States, common currency, and the strong financial institutions required to bring meaningful progress to the continent? Does America, France or England have any plans for the continent besides maintaining the dependency relationships?
Now the 30 billion which was earmarked by the Libyan Government to go towards establishing the African Investment Bank which sought to free the African Continent from the IMF and World Bank, promoting African Strength and Unity, forming a common currency etc… will now go right back to the west for reconstruction – to rebuild the very same infrastructure they destroyed in the first place. History is repeating itself right before our very eyes. I am sounding the alarm. America, France and England are all broke! With world economic power is shifting to the east, how will they mount a recovery?
The UN Resolution 1973 gave NATO the green light for the establishment of a No Fly Zone over Libya to “protect civilians” from Ghadaffi’s airstrikes, yet the immense amount of footage surfacing is only that of the NATO bombing campaign on Libya. You can read the resolution for yourself, I don’t think it justifies NATO’s role in providing constant allied bombing raids, even after Libya’s air defenses were eliminated. China, India and Russia were among five countries that abstained from the UN Security Council vote over concerns over the indiscriminate use of force in Libya by foreign powers. Whilst they voiced concerns, I don’t think they envisioned the west using this resolution to justify all out support for the rebels and ultimately regime change. Let’s see how the west moves and who benefits now that Libya has been officially “opened for business.” I would like to reiterate that I hope the Libyan people thrive and realize their social freedoms and build a prosperous, self reliant state. Both social and economic freedoms are vital and one would hate to see them fall prey to presently battered western monetary system.
I live on the island of Taiwan which has presidential elections in January, here’s my recent publication on the Taiwan-China relations. I wrote it in Chinese/ Mandarin since I’m communicating with the local population. To translate simply copy and past to Google translate (http://translate.google.com). Sorry for the inconvenience, though the grammar in the translation is kind of funny. Enjoy
