The Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court of Appeal has reserved judgment in the petition filed by the defeated candidates of the main opposition party in Dominica.
The candidates of the United Workers Party (UWP) are challenging the nomination of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and his Education Minister, Petter St Jean to contest the 2009 general election.
The lawyer for the UWP candidates argues that the High Court judge erred when she found that his clients failed to establish a case against Skerrit and St Jean.
The High court judge had ruled that the UWP petitioners failed to show evidence that Skerrit and St Jean had pledged allegiance to a foreign power or state.
The judge also found that the Opposition members failed to show that Skerrit and St Jean were in possession of French passports.
