it is true back in March 2020 as a ICU nurse I did not have but one mask (one surgical mask) that I had to reuse up to 2 WEEKS maybe at times longer… there simply were NOT enough for us as ICU nurses (we were given one N95 type mask and maybe one for a PAPR) but I had felt the lack of masks back then Dr Fauci is a good rep and probably great person he is doing his best and I am so glad he did not leave during that MF Trump (real scary time) because then there would have been that much less stability in our country

Now they can tell you what to wear, what medical procedures you must have, when and where you can worship, when you can hug someone, when you can open your business, when and where you can travel and a whole lot more. I’m an American living in Japan. They wear masks ALL the time even before covid-19. We ate it.
This past year the amount of standard flu in America decreased about 99%, because we wore enough masks and social distanced enough to practically eliminate it. Our mitigation was not enough for COVID, but it was enough for the standard flu. Would it be worth wearing a mask every fall and winter to save 30 to 60,000 American lives every year? Are the Asians more humane than we?

@Sheila McGregor I’m in Australia. Life’s sort of normal where I am. We closed our State Borders a year ago. I’ve only spent 3 weeks locked down so far. It’s kind of weird being isolated from the World, but the news is so terrible it’s also weird to feel safe. We really want the vaccine so life can be fully normal again. It’s strange not having tourists & international students. That & I really want to go surfing in Bali. It’s flat here in Autumn…

Some degree of normalcy The ETA for a degree of normalcy is directly proportional to the degree of peoples acceptance of the mitigation measures. If everyone would just follow the mitigation methods, things would be able to operate more normally sooner. It seems that you can tell a person that just can’t wait to have everything opened up and normal, merely by seeing whether that person is wearing a mask etc. It’s the people that refuse to wear a mask that are the most impatient. From WHO “The cycle threshold (Ct) needed to detect virus is inversely proportional to the patient’s viral load.” Fauci is referring to replication competence which is the standard for determining whether or not there’s an actual ongoing infection. If it’s over 35 CT, there is zero chance that you actually have an ongoing infection (a *requirement* for “covid 19” diagnosis). But it gets worse… there’s only a small range, around 20CT, where replication competence is high. So the test is approx 75% false-positives from a diagnostic perspective with a positivity threshold of 40, which is the FDA standard. So, basically, you have no idea what you’re talking about and it’s really obvious. You’re a typical lefty who got a pat on the head because you successfully regurgitated the propaganda you were fed.

Second, it’s obvious that the cycle count and viral count are inversely related, but because of the exponential nature of the replication, it’s hard to get an absolute number of viral particles from just the cycle count, because you don’t necessarily get a perfect doubling every cycle.
Third, the PCR test measures the amount of genetic material from the original sample, not the amount of viable virus. This genetic material sometimes lasts longer than the virus.
This is what Fauci was referring to. There is a genuine concern about positive PCR tests for people who aren’t infectious, but make no mistake: they have been infected by COVID-19.
Finally, you make a rather elementary error in probability when you state “75% false positive”; this means that 75% of COVID-negative people will test positive, which means that the positivity rates reported by all of the states would be at least 75%. Try not to be a numbskull next time.
It’s painful to watch you continue to pretend to know what you’re talking about.

Fauci is specifically talking about the fact that the tests pick up leftover genetic material after the person’s immune system has already eliminated the virus to an extent that they’re not infectious.

5 people in my class just said they were in so much pain after getting the Operation Warp Speed Vaccine created.
Ask them 3 days later. It’s all gone. I took the Moderna vaccine on Friday, and yeah my arm hurt for two days. That’s all that happened.
I’m sure the second dose will be worse, but right now, it doesn’t even hurt more than a hard workout. 3 days later, I don’t even feel it.
