Folks do you remember a few years ago when our hospitals were already filled to the brim. I remember when I was place in the Hallway because there were no Beds available. Have our Leaders forgotten already or just have amnesia. There was an outcry for more Beds back then, so what gives. Now these Politicians are learning a lesson they neglected years ago because of funding. The past is finally catching up to these clowns.
That was always an issue, but now we are running out of ICU beds. We have in the past surged to other areas in ED (hallway, DI waiting rooms etc..) to keep the admitted surgical/medical patients. Never for ICU, and also with ICU its basically 1 nurse for 1 pt due to the complexity. This is what we call an acute on chronic problem. 🙂
