The reason is especially republicans all the time try to make Americans believe there is socialism in Scandinavia.
Every Scandinavian country has a much better economy compared to USA based on national debt and they all have free healthcare, free education and social welfare. To Scandinavians, USA is a glossed over 3rd world country, that presents itself as a 1st world country.
