Dominica’s Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, estimated Tuesday that a sample of the change of policy by the US president-elect Barack Obama, would be to put an end to the blockade to the island of Cuba.
In a speech delivered on the radio to the entire nation, Prime Minister Skerrit said that a change of policy towards Cuba would be the great test for Barack Obama, by lifting the illegal, immoral blockade affecting the Caribbean island of Cuba.
In another part of his speech Skerrit said the Caribbean cannot think of great hopes with the new US government because Obama will take office in the middle of a great financial crisis in his country.
In coincidence, a comment by local newspaper Dominica News said that the blockade against Cuba is internationally rejected, and was condemned by the United Nations General Assembly several times.
