Doctor Warns Of The Pandemic's Psychiatric Impact | Morning Joe | MSNBC
You heard these stories coming from Italy and ignored them. Now its happening in America, the hospitals are wavering, medical staff can’t keep up. Then to keep your economy going for the next two months, you start opening things up and relaxing federal testing. Not only do you throw these medical staffs work in their face, you do it to save the economy but guarantee a second wave that will absolutely cripple the economy in the fall and make their jobs worse. They are fighting every day, and for a temporary reprieve you are basically saying that what they are doing isn’t enough, and they should do it all again just because you wanted the convenience of a month relaxed.

And isn’t it funny how the enemies of Trump, such as yourself, are very selective about which quantities they calculate per capita and which not? They always do tests per capita and absolute number of cases and deaths. You just did it yourself. That way you can make Trump look very bad which is your only goal. You’re obsessed with it. You don’t care about science all you care about is making him look bad even though he’s done a phenomenal job at testing (most in the world!) and USA has one of the lowest death rate per capita (and per infected). @Manuel the difference is they use real numbers and you didn’t. The reason we do some things per capita and others not, is because those are what give us the most meaningful information. If you knew anything about science you would know that, it’s not just arbitrary. If one country has 5000 deaths and a population of 5000, that’s worse than 5000 deaths in a population of 5 million. Same number, much different per capita You also just admitted looking at the numbers makes him look bad. If the facts make him look bad then he’s bad. America has one of the highest death rates per capita (top 5) at 176 per million. You have more infections than the next 5 countries COMBINED and growing. That’s a terrible response.
@Kris I am a scientist. And you just confirmed what I said. Deaths and cases should be looked at per capita, whereas you always look at cases and deaths in absolute numbers. But one sentences later you again look at absolute cases LOL. Come on man, your whole agenda is to destroy Trump, you don’t care about science. Just admit it. Actually a much better indicator of how well you’re doing on testing is the rate of positives but you don’t care about it.
A high absolute number of cases (which is meaningless) rather speaks for a lot of testing being done.

You really have to be at the end of your tether to take your own life when treating others. It shows how disgustingly badly politicians are dealing with this crisis. Every Gopper who is supporting Trump needs to be removed from office.

I can’t agree with this interpretation. Gov Cuomo may be doing what he can now, but don’t forget the decisions to issue stay-at-home orders were enacted by the states… and he was late, CDC recommendations notwithstanding. The Federal Government’s travel restrictions on China and European Union countries were deemed alternately as too much or too little.
Trump didn’t cause a woman with underlying mental health issues to commit suicide. Yes, I said it – a person with underlying mental health issues. Underlying mental health issues right now are just as damaging as underlying physical health issues, especially as the media use stories like this one to point at the failings of the Trump administration when Trump had nothing to do with this suicide.

Regardless of all that, New York left the subways running when San Francisco bay area shut theirs down. What are the respective results? San Francisco bay area cases/deaths is 1499/25, while New York City Metro is 167,000/13,000. This is with the same available information, and both states have a Democrat as governor so this has little to do with the GOP or Pres Trump.

The real purpose of this reply is to fix a gap in my last. San Francisco Bay area has just under half the population that New York Metro has, but two orders of magnitude fewer deaths to COVID-19. So the analysis is valid.

Jan 20th first cases reported in the US. Trump says; he has it under control it’s just one person from China. That same week South Korea developed test kits from private companies.
January 27th White House aids tried to warn Mick Mulvaney about the virus.
January 29th Navarro tried to warn Trump in a memo about mass deaths circulating from the virus.
Jan 30th Azar called Trump warning him again saying that the virus could be a pandemic
Jan. 30th WHO declared a national health emergency.
Jan 31st. Wuhan went in lockdown. Trump declared a travel ban from China but with gaping holes. In all there were 279 flights from China that arrived in the US since the “ban”. They came to airports in LA, San Francisco, NY, Chicago, Seattle, Newark and Detroit. Thousands of them flew directly from Wuhan, the center of the corona virus outbreak.
Feb. 3rd One reporter asked Trump, how concerned are you? Well, we pretty much shut it down. ~Trump
February 4th Trump shipped 17.8 tons of emergency medical supplies to China, (Pompeo tweeted about it on the same day).
February 5th Senators warned trump to take the virus more seriously.
Feb 10 11 deaths “A lot of people think it goes away with the heat.”
Feb 12th 14 deaths. CDC (a government agency) test kits prove faulty.
Feb 12th Trump says a lot of people think the virus goes away in April, in the heat.
February 23rd Navarro in another memo warned of the pandemic and the loss of life for millions of Americans.
Feb 24th Trump tweet says the stock market is soaring.
Feb 25th CDC sounded the alarm that daily life could be severely disrupted and that virus would likely cause a pandemic. Trump fumed saying the warning caused the stock market to drop.
Feb 26th Trump says it’s like the flu.
Feb 27th- 58 cases, “It’s going to disappear like a miracle.” ! Trump
Feb 28th South Carolina rally. Trump says the virus is the Democrats’ new hoax. Eg: The Russia thing, then the impeachment and now C19.
March 2nd 92 cases- says no need to call for a national emergency says, we’re in really good shape so no need for more action. Claims they’re going to have vaccines, I think relatively soon.
March 4th- 149 cases, Because a lot of people get this and it’s very mild. They don’t even call a doctor. They get better just by itting around and even going to work. Some of them even go to work. ~Trump
March 6th Trump says in regards to cruise ship- I don’t need to have the numbers double because of one cruise ship. He didn’t want to have people exit the cruise ship.

I can not imagine how scary it is to have people thinking your job is politically motivated and make you feel threatened.
Just sitting at home in my safe secluded environment, I feel a huge amount of stress and anxiety.. I can only begin to try to imagine what those fighting this on the front lines are experiencing . It must be a daily assault to the very core of their spirit …
