He cant since he was ordered not to break Trumps executive priviledge.the NSA is not.clearing his book for publishing. He will have to sue them.

Yes, he was too unpatriotic to testify in the House, but he could certainly do interviews, and get paid for them, which shd make him happy.

It has been my feeling that Bolton claimed he might testify, but only if subpoenaed, because unlike the witnesses who were being told NOT to testify…but did, Bolton knew he could “goose” sales of his book by not testifying. And, he gambled that any bombshells the book contained would not be forced out of him by testifying in the Senate.
Having a book that was pending NSA approval wasn’t trotted out as an excuse until the possibility of testifying before the Senate became a possibility.
Finally, I would not buy his book on principle, since I feel ANYONE writing a book about Chump is just in it for the bucks and may not tell the whole truth. No, I am not a Chump supporter, but really, does anyone need a book to tell them why he will go down in history as THE worst president this country has had? If Bolton was any kind of patriot he would have testified like Ambassadors Yovanavich and Sondlind.

What do you think will happen to the Republican Senators when the book hits the market? People can read, or hear, about what a corrupt president (and his cronies) those same senators exonerated.

When I first heard Bolton wasn’t coming before the congress, I emailed Simon and Schuster to tell them, I will not buy Bolton’s book!! Some patriot Bolton is!!
@vidvidvid – If you are an american then you should be crying. What has just happened isn’t about Trump or witnesses, it is about the office of the presidency and our system of government. The Republicans in the Senate have essentially admitted that he did exactly what he was impeached for … withheld funds to the Ukraine to pressure them to investigate a political rival … but are also saying that it is not impeachable. The Trump defense team is actually arguing that Trump can do that because he decides what is in the national interest. Both republican senators who were on the fence stated there was no point in calling Bolton because the House had proven their case and that it was not impeachable. Think about that for a minute. Trump tried to rig the election and the Senate and Trump’s defense is saying that it is within his authority. That is an abdication of oversight of the executive branch … and a precedent that in short means that the President and any future president, including democrats, can do what they want … as long as that president believes it is in the national interest … with Congress having little ability to stop it. Trump could try to rig the election again and there is nothing we can do. A future president could do it and if Congress has the guts to try to impeach him then this will be used as the president’s defense. If you are one of those who believes Obama illegally spied on Trump’s campaign as Trump keeps insisting then so what, it was his prerogative. It is quite literally the part of our government that differentiates us from countries run by despots. Great for Trump, bad for the republic and all americans. The Senate in wrapping up this trial needs to be very clear and specific as to the reasoning behind acquittal.

As bad as impeachment and removal are, they are only proceedings to fire an incompetent and criminal (in the high crimes and misdemeanors sense) civil servant. That’s all.
The Rs are all all scrambling to justify what they did and will do Wednesday. Here is Rubio trying to explain that Trump is a bad, bad, man who deserves to be removed, perhaps, but it might be just too dangerous:

I agree that no one should buy his book. He sat on all this knowledge and refused to testify, his lawyer threatened to sue them if they subpoenaed him but now he claims it is all in the book??

If he was really interested in justice and didn’t want to be silenced by Trump, he could have even gone to the media but that is not as effective as testifying under oath.
