@Leaving ToStay anw, I think I understood in this view point. What that person was saying is that if you recover you are going to be more immune to the virus, and thus will be able to stay on authority over the virus. As in more free to feel safe, but still in isolation, as you can still probably die if you get infected again.

@Brandon Belcher interesting that we haven’t heard about deaths or even testing with the homeless. Now I think that in many ways they have stronger immune systems than many others because they are exposed to so many illnesses. But even in China, there were homeless people who lived outdoors in the cold and were fine. Strange. Stay safe!

I disagree with the part of “nobody forcing you to take it”. Once your on it for legitimate reasons or whatever – it’s not just a simple decision of deciding not to. It is the most insidious evil thing I had ever encountered – I feel super lucky to have gotten free from it. If you haven’t gone through that – then you have no idea what peeps are dealing with.
Space Monkey, no prescription opiod was designed for people to take routinely. They were all designed to be taken 7-10 days for an acute injury or after after surgery because it doesn’t take long to build s tolerance to the medication so that it takes dangerous amounts to get the desired effect. There are many docs who prescribe it routinely for a copay (cash fee) knowing those patients will be back in 30 days for more because they’re addicted. It’s unethical. I’ve seen them hook patients on opioids and benzodiazepines to the point the patient was overdosing with some regularity, and they continued to prescribe to them after they were hospitalized for overdose. They should be held legally responsible.
Look at the mafia thugs on the screen, turns out none of them were Italian after all, though some still pretend to be. And in fact are not even really what else they claim to be. But mafia swine they are for sure, up there claiming they can tell us what will be, in our country based on a virus easily destroyed by a cheap plentiful ingreedient and not even as bad as a flu to begin with.

@doright man You should care that the US is not getting a proper handle on this virus! Canada has a small fraction of the cases that the US has (even when you factor in how many less people my country has!). Your country needs to start being willing to learn from other people, again, like it was, somewhat, with Obama as president. I know this does not help the ordinary US citizen suffering right now from coronavirus, but once this pandemic has relented somewhat, or goes away altogether–maybe by then it’s time some of your country’s people started waking up to their reality under Trump, and start to “get with it”!

I’m having a rough day. We had 3 possible Covid patients admitted to my unit last night at my hospital in California; one died as soon as she was transferred from the ER. We don’t feel safe or protected. Healthcare workers are alone in this. I don’t want to talk to my friends or my kids today. I don’t want to burden them and make them worry ( I’m in my 60s), so I called another nurse I worked with last night and we let it out. The anger, frustration, anxiety and fear is part of our everyday life right now. Nurses are strong individuals but we are feeling powerless right now and that’s really really tough.

Please just try to protect yourself as much as possible. Doctors in Spain are using anything they can find, from ski masks to scuba masks so i guess those are some ideas though at the end of the day nothing beats effective PPE. Our prayers go out to you and we hope this will be over soon. Until then, thank you so much for everything you are doing and I honestly believe some people in your country failed you but you are a true hero for continuing to work.
