  1. it probably will also get a ton of people to sign up for Yang’s email list and to visit his website even if they’ve never really thought about him, so it was actually pretty clever.

    1. exactly, his proposal to give the freedom dividend to 10 families is his way of getting media coverage since corp media doesn’t give him fair treatment.

    1. @Some Guy Comments like yours and most other Trump supporters push me even further away from Trump and help ensure I’ll be voting straight Democrat in 2020. They’re so disrespectful and oblivious to the facts that I know my values and ideals will never match theirs nor their preferred candidate.

    2. @B Bodziak is that your best attempt at blackmailing white America? Any traditional white person, who knows what there is to know, is aware of the current state of our nation and doesmt care for Trump. Hes a shill. Hell, alot of us are voting democrat this election as well, as a matter of fact. True patriots know the only way to get our country back is to accelerate its decline and wait for them to inevitably come for our guns. Better to face it now while westill have to the numbers to fight back. So you vote democrat. I’ll be joining you.

    3. I agree, Linda. A fair interview where Yang was allowed to address real questions people might have for him, minus all the BS filler some other interviews throw out there. This one was solid.

    1. Eric Killebrew somehow I don’t think that’s going to hurt him one bit. Look at how fast the gang is growing! And I just also want to say as far as I’m concerned Count me in! I hope I’m chosen as one of the winners of the freedom dividend because I could definitely use it! If you haven’t already done so you should enter on his website for chance to win and also tweet to him

    2. He has one idea and it’s a good idea. He got plenty of time to time to sell his one idea. I like his one idea. And I think that one of the viable candidates should adopt it. But we shouldn’t expect this guy to have the same time at the debate. He has less to say.

    1. It was actually a self deprecating joke, but I totally see how you interpreted it that way. Cuomo was intending to imply that he, and America, are gonna need a lot of help to learn to think harder.

    2. @SJNaka101Yep exactly like SJN said. I interpreted like OP at first, but with Cuomo’s tone, you realize it was a self depracting joke.
      edited: wording

    3. @ChalensKy with all due respect to your opinion, I think it was a good, responsible dig. Sometimes such digs are useful to make a candidate not take anything for granted and sound their message out loud. Especially cause the final outcome depends heavily on older voters in the Midwest and Rust Belt and so on..

  2. Just gotta say the way Yang unites YouTube says so much about him. This is probably the only CNN video I’ve ever seen that isn’t a 50-50 like to dislike ratio. Conservatives will dislike and liberals will like without even watching but this… this is not that and that’s a huge sign that tells me Yangs actually gotta shot! #YangGang #Yang2020

    1. Nocturnal Recluse he just ADDS to the status quo regarding foreign policy and SUBTRACTS actual critical thought to our social safety net and instead gives everyone a grand every month…lol he is worth voting for over DRUMPF, I’ll give you that but why vote for the center left when we have TRUE PROGRESSIVE CANDIDATES LIKE SANDERS&WARREN…he is an Obama administration insider with 1 good idea that’s literally half-baked…he is all for the Israeli apartheid right wing govt. and he is a crony corporatist just like Biden! So if you vote Bernie or Warren WHEN ONE OF them get the nomination…I will vote for Yang if he gets the nomination…DEAL?,…

    2. Wayne Yates Know his policy in depth and make that accusation of him adding to the status quo. He is far from staying at the status quo.

  3. Cuomo, thank you for interviewing Andrew Yang. All we want is him having a fair chance to show what his heart is. You got my respect. While other people at CNN just seems to be scared of him.

    1. @Bacons Strip in that particular scenario, I would have died on my feet, while you hide behind other men for a meager Pat on the head. Loser.

    2. CNN & MSNBC is supporting Donald Trump now get on the Trump train.
      🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💥TRUMP 2020💥🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    1. @Mike Smith you’re full of it if you think trump has any interest in you or my opinions. I voted for him in ans I messed up, not this time though. YANG2020

    2. @gangcai2876 you have not sense of history, my friend. I am so sorry! America could never work like Maoist China because of the systems we have in place.

  4. Thank Cuomo. This was a good fair interview and your asking the questions skeptics have. The YangGang is growing.

  5. The book that Andrew wrote, “the war on normal people”. I’ve read it twice. The man is the genuine article. I don’t engage in the public conversation often, but this guy is data driven and is speaking to a greater truth in our collective future.

    1. @Olympus Devil You honestly need the term “qualified” explained to you, silly child? How “far” has Yang made it? Barbers used to pull teeth, and unqualified quacks used to treat illness with leeches. Does that mean your barber is qualified to give you a root canal and that anyone with a jar of blood sucking parasites is qualified to diagnose and treat lukemia. “Qualified” to me and other rational, responsible, thinking adults means demonstrably possessed of the background, experience, credentials, and skills to perform in a particular role, function, job, or position at an immediately competent and highly effective level, especially as measured against other applicants or contenders for that role, function, job, or position. Get those crayons flying to take all of that down, though you clearly aren’t qualified to honestly participate in this discussion.

    2. @Dennis Delacruz Being a thoughtful, intelligent, responsible adult, I distinguish between eligible and qualified. If being eligible is all that matters, why even go through this process? Why not put a few million names in a hat and do it by lottery, like the lottery Yang is holding for his pay-out gimmick? Do you know why virtually every professional field in America requires specific credentials, licensing, and demonstrated competence? I’ll let you work on that one for a while.

  6. Monopoly is the most capitalistic board game in the world. Everyone that plays starts with money and gets money as they pass go. This makes the game capitalistic as it gives every player a chance to buy property and profit off of others. UBI is highly capitalistic. UBI only works in a capitalistic society. Socialism is when the government takes your money and tells your what to do with it.

    1. @William Travelstead Capturing the wealth from tech companies will matter significantly when automation is in full swing. Estimates suggest 30 percent of jobs could be replaced by 2030.

    2. Interesting idea. However, what I have learned in my 50 years of existence is that nothing is free. If you take away money from the government, the government will get it back in the form of taxes! If you win the lottery, or inherit money from family, the government will make sure you pay what they think is your “fair share”. You earn an extra income by getting a second job, or getting a raise at your current job, you pay the government more taxes! What really is the solution to this problem, is getting rid of the federal income tax instead of introducing and implementing the idea of a U.B.I.(Universal Basic Income). People would have more money to spend, if the federal government didn’t take it away!

    3. @Jason Khan Low income families and especially those who are near the poverty line will not benefit from zero income tax. Under your proposal, the wealthy will become wealthier and the poor will become poorer. Meanwhile, automation will do away with millions of jobs and the middle class wither away into oblivion. You’re right that nothing is free. There are grave COSTS to the ‘zero federal income tax’ proposal.

    4. Jason Khan look, the progressive income tax at the federal level, along with the IRS and the Federal Reserve private central bank are all technically illegal. However, the only real people against the taxes, are those at the top who have to pay them after their many deductions and Carmen island accounts are flush. Is it fair that we have to rent our land and homes from the government via property tax? Is it fair that we have to fund schools when we don’t have children with the school tax? Nothing in USA is fair. So, on that note, the rich who have spent 5 decades overthrowing the power and economy of the US people, can pay through the nose.

    5. @Jason Khan I totally get where you are coming from. This would be a way to get the money back into our hands instead of big government solutions.

The world is changing and for many Americans their jobs are at risk of automation. Getting rid of the income tax doesn’t help when you can’t get a job. Consider truck driving. There is a good chance that within 10 years we will have market ready automated trucks doing a majority of the work. There are 3.5 million truck drivers. They wouldn’t lose their job because they didn’t work hard enough but because the robots are cheaper.

    1. James Peter not as big of a joke is your fave who promised to build a wall amongst other promises he’s made and has failed to deliver time and time and time again. I’m sorry, I forgot to laugh

  7. Yang is a smart fellow and delightful to talk with. I see all the hosts like him a lot. “study quick”, nice getback, lol

    1. @Bryan Broome It got us a certain amount of healing after Richard Nixon. If you are old enough, I doubt it actually, you might remember the high inflation of the 70s. Carter appt. Paul Volcker who is credited with ending that high inflation. Luckily Reagan kept him in that job.

    2. @G Sterling Not wrong about Tesla but Audi and Mercedes would still be focusing on internal combustion engines if it wasn’t for people like Musk. Nasa is dependent on SpaceX nowadays.

    3. @G Sterling Surprisingly your data supports Tesla. Large companies like Youtube and Amazon look just like this as they expand and grow. The proof of Tesla’s success is their expansion; which calls upon reinvesting earnings and making loans and leverage and stock market maneuvers, not to mention the worst they look on paper the better their tax return will be. As far as the tax credit goes, this will not affect Tesla’s main customers which is upper middle class and tech first adopters. Look at the competitors Audi and Mercedes they are in the luxury vehicle market selling cars to upper middle class and wealthy people; so the tax incentive are a plus but not crucial for these people looking for luxury brands. In short tax credits won’t impact the EV market much, if anything Audi and Mercedes will be spending billions in infrastructure as they adopt new technology, also, they have long standing relationships to keep or shatter with car dealerships! which are middlemen taking a cut from the profit, thing that overbooked Tesla has nothing to worry about.

    1. @Abstract Place Yes, democrats and republican should ignore their differences, and unite as the hateful bigots they both are.

    1. What a bunch of BS. The people of Hong Kong lifted themselves out of poverty and grew the region to be prosperous to the point there are more Rolls Royces registered there per capital than anywhere else in the world. So what this clown is saying Americans are too lazy and stupid to work hard and earn their money than getting free government cheese.
