    1. @Happydaze Harvick A child molester will not be President. Trump will DEFINITELY bring that up on Joe. Hate to say it but Trump probably takes this one too.

    2. convoult is the name of a new disease created by ALLAH-AHKBAR. Stay away from Mosque to pray for Allah. He will not help you if you are dying from coronavirus. ALLAH, MULLAH, BULLAH, INSHALLAH, ARE NOTHING but fake news! Better to stay home.

    1. “@thought criminal
We will once Trump is Fired”

Play the two party dichotomy when in fact he was chosen for a media blitz,to further divide the nation. There is one bird it has two wings and one goal, and it not to MAGA.
It’s to bring down the people, you clowns.

    2. Why don’t comments load on you corona is a beer by the way, and Wuhan was fully 5G, and Italy has 5G, and NY has 5G

  1. “We can’t let doctors dictate economic policy!” Sooo, we let economists dictate medical policy?

    1. ” Money will always trump (no pun intended) lives, or even common sense .” and no one has more than bloody bill gates eh.

    2. The current government both parties and judicial is the same malignant tumor on the American People & system they’ve been since 1871 and you ignoramuses Common core indoctrinate, two party playing fools, represents the heart of America’s darkness would be more accurate.

    3. ” call me Ishmael @Isaiah Bradley I question a lot of things but rarely medics especially during an outbreak. ”

What you don’t question though is if this a pandemic, or as you call it an outbreak what did it Out Break from? A plan.

    4. The left media, now that is funny, there is left and right media. Wow, babies the brainwashing here is massive.

    5. @Meekseek you must have some serious problems with the world and that’s cool, but you should always question, and this is an outbreak, mass media does brain wash, watch independent media, not cnn or fox, but people who just attack others arguments with out anything to offer in return is not a critique but a Troll, if you hate what people are saying that’s fine but at least offer something in return to the discussion.

    1. @Sully Sullivan I think he has just as much knowledge as you do. NO ONE knows the answer right now. I just read an article last night about how Germany has the best testing and gathering of results. This has shown that so far their death rate is .3 which is above the .1 of the flu but they are saying they think it will go down after more and more results come in. They also said that in the end they believe they will be no better or worse than Italy, once all of the numbers are in.

    2. @Chair Force great. the guy I was responding to is trying to downplay the risk of taking no action by pointing to what are ostensibly low numbers currently. I pointed out that those numbers will rapidly change due to the exponential spread. I’m not saying the virus has a high mortality rate, the issue is hospitals are going to be overrun.. I have no idea why you’re sitting here telling me the mortality rate is somewhat low and Germany is doing a relatively good job. what does this have to do with anything I said?

    3. @Sully Sullivan You are telling Belairguy he has no idea about infectious diseases and virus growth rates. He is presenting WAY more data than you are. You are just telling him he is wrong. My point is you have no idea either. Or that he is just as right as you are. His point is that we are overacting to this virus based on current data. I tend to agree with him but I understand that point of overwhelming hospitals.

The math is not adding up and I think in the end the German data will be the norm , in that this virus is the same or very slightly more impacting than the flu. Of course there does not help NY or Italy right now but there will always be hot spots and places with little to no impact. I am glad I do not live in a city, especially a large one at that.

    4. @Chair Force yeah, I’m telling him that because his argument is “look, only a handful of people have it, no cause for alarm.” this whole thing started with literally ONE GUY. pointing to a low present number of cases is irrelevant to the risk assessment. understand? because, as you will find if you go and look at what epidemiologists (the experts in this subject who know more than any of us here) are saying, it’s that this virus will continue to spread exponentially. so the guy saying “low number of cases right now, no cause for alarm” has no clue what he is talking about, clearly.

    1. @James Gray I should probably choose Japan. It is, for the most part, safe, (no one may own a handgun, and gun crime, not to mention mass shootings, is non-existent); has good health care; a vibrant culture; has fewer religious nutcases, and has a co-operative mentality, by and large. It is also mostly uninfluenced by Christianity, which has destroyed the native culture of so many lands, introduced religious intolerance, puritanism, and hypocrisy. So, let it be Japan.

    2. @Malcolm Ledger That is a cogent statement. Japan is very isolationist though. You don’t have freedom to worship how you’d like. They don’t let Muslims into their country. They actually don’t let many Non-Japanese to emigrate the country.

    3. @James Gray Freedom of religion is guaranteed by the constitution. Japanese , and others, may worship whomever and whatever they please. There is no discrimination against Moslems or any other religion. Halal restaurants are available. Most countries have strict immigration rules. I doubt that in Japan’s case ethnicity is one of them. You cannot be denied status simply because of where you are from.

    4. @James Gray What is not true? I have read the immigration guide and I see nothing there out of the ordinary. There is no discrimination against anyone. Also, there are five mosques in Tokyo. I think you need to get your facts straight.

  2. Americans can’t afford to do these measures. Its easy for the politicians to say so, yet they practice none of the rules they preach

No social distancing, testing and wasting PPE for asymptomatic cases, akin to celebrities, and as you’ve heard celebrities are just politicians with prettier faces.. .

Seriously, look at the net worth of say, Nancy Pelosi and other congressmen and women, Governors etc .. . They can afford to hunker down for months without being homeless

This whole situation has placed a light on issues already there but now common person is seeing corruption at all levels, the whole system needs change

You have colleges pocketing money from graduation/commencements that were cancelled not rescheduled, study abroad students not getting refunds, conventional classes now online yet no refund for the hefty campus fees/service fees/physically being on campus … looking at you Rutgers

States having to outbid other states for PPE thanks to Trump and co.

Chinese communist party arresting whistle blowers for Coronavirus in November and December. . .

This world is corrupt and we need to change it. Make a government for the people, the bipartisan system is working as intended for the people at the top

This is not a Democrat versus Republican problem this is an everyone problem

    1. But Taylore, you didn’t say ORANGEMANBAD at all in your post! How can coronavirus be bad if bad orange man didn’t do it? Covid19 is over if you do 100 Hail Orangemanbads and pray for forgiveness at the altar of Gibsmedats. Don’t you care about THE CHILDREN?!?

  3. The only problem with what this guy is saying is that by the time someone in your family has coronavirus, most likely everyone in your family has it because of the 2 week incubation period.

    1. @Zachary Manick You think so? so let’s see now the people going to work for the news spread the virus and more people die but that is okay because you get your daily news brilliant

  4. This dude literally said everyone who is sick needs a place for everyone to be sick together….FEMA camps….

    1. The whole point of putting infected people (confirmed Covid cases) together is not to leave them to die but so that 1) They can get urgent medical care (especially oxygen and ventilator) when they do crash, you don’t know who will crash, young or old, 2) They don’t infect others in the community especially their family members, 3) They need social and psychological support from others (they are not going thru this alone) to survive this. This is very important.

    2. @V Lee I’m sorry if I made you feel like i needed an explanation. I am glad that you took time from your life to type all that. I guess I need to be more educated on common sense. Apparently I’m not brainwashed enough to see the bigger picture. Thank you for enlightening me.

  5. “The enemy is anybody who’s going to get you killed, no matter which side he is on.” Joseph Heller Catch-22

    1. @kevin hillhouse He was an American author of novels, short stories, plays, and screenplays who made satirical comments about inept bureaucracy.

  6. Here in Germany one of the leading virologists talks to a journalist via app every day or second day and explains everything. The basics, what is happening, what must be done, what shouldn’t be done. So that a non-medical person can understand it. He also answers questions from the public. They upload it to YouTube (including a sign language version). He is very calm, but also doesn’t sugar-coat anything. It’s very helpful during these anxious times.

    1. @Mark Whitfield That’s a great tip. I mean, not everybody speaks German, right? I’m going to look into that also.

    2. @Amanda Sligar Can confirm what @Panbaneesha said. Also, as a side note, the same is true for Austria. The limits, pan mentioned are in my experience reasonable ones. In dental care, for example, you will be treated regardless, but you can pay more if you want something special. For example, when you get a filling, the insurance will pay for the cheapest resonable option, which is usually gray fillings you can easily spot. If you want white fillings that blend in with the healthy tooth, you’ll have to pay a bit extra, but the insurance will still cover the anesthetic and any medication that might be necessary.
A visit to a normal doctor, eg when you have a cold, will cost you nothing or 10€ once in a quarter year.

    3. That would help a lot if the media in America didn’t thrive on emotional terrorism of the citizens….media in other countries serves an informational purpose….however media here in America exists solely to freak you out and drive anxiety through the roof…then as a special treat for surviving 20 minutes of you are going to die tomorrow… they share a feel good story so you dont off yourself long enough to come back the next show and keep watching.

    1. @woodensurfer “Why aren’t duty and obligation objectives to aim for and not to shirk to?”

What are you even saying here dude lmao this doesn’t make any sense.

Also what do guns have to do with duty and obligation?

    2. @windumaster14 Opposition against the Affordable Care Act (Obama care) is also based on freedom, that Americans should have the right to choose. Socialized medicine is against freedom of choice but gives greater security to most people.

    3. I dont see how is this related to help stop the spread of COVID 19. The government must put taking actions to stop the coronavirus in the first place at this time, this is not a “democratic hoax”

    4. windumaster14 You really misunderstood Chinese policy on lockdown the whole country… the people there weren’t not violently forced to stay home, instead, they wear masks and minimize outdoor activities voluntarily. At the beginning, people were resisting wearing mask when they went out, but as situation got worse, they realized they had to do what the scientists told them even if they didn’t want to just like what you currently think about. No one wants to sacrifice freedom or livelihood. And I don’t think with China or Italy put lockdown policy on awhile country for fun! Don’t use colored glasses to see anything. Don’t just watch CNN or FOX or just read NEw York Times…Do some research and don’t take it personal. This has nothing to do with political system or which works better than the other. One of my friends in Wuhan told me that only one person was responsible to go out for shopping for the life essentials for the people who lives on the same floor, which intends to minimize the number of people who had to go out each day. People who lived there worked as volunteers to check people’s temperature and distributing passes each day. They were living in a big residence garden with more than 3000 thousand people which is also very popular and common in China. Many companies also urged their employees to stay at home and also 100% get paid, if anyone break the rule, they got nothing. But one of my family member here in the US still has to go to onsite work every weekday even though the place we live becomes the epidemic center of US and the number of infections hit 30000+. Just use your wit to try to think that if people in China didn’t cooperate and help with each other, how on earth could them get rid of the virus and get the situation under control? What I just told you is not from New York Times, FOX or CNN news b/c you are never going to hear any positive or even pertinent reports from these press, however, they are from TRUE story and bloody experiences.

  7. To be sadly enough, this messy virus seems especially nasty to Westerners. To prevent infection, they have to screen the virus particles first, but they don’t emphasize the core of that, that is mask wearing, and only care about the rest things.
Of course, I fully understand why Westerners hate to wear masks.

Most of people think that a mask is used only to prevent a patient from transmitting disease to others, but it is also necessary to wear a mask not to get the disease from others.
The problem is that the nature of this nasty virus called covid 19 doesn’t earlier allow you to discern whether you are a carrier or not. This bad rapid spread occurs because people easily ignore the possibility of dormant infection. I don’t know why Western people ignore this possibility? Even the absolute majority of U.S. media and disease-related experts are lukewarm about wearing masks. Is this because they are short of facial masks? Partly it may be true but I think this stems from the difference of culture. But the current situation in the western hemisphere is too terrible. What is more important than being a survivor under this pandemic settings?

To effectively stress the importance of social distancing in the public, people should firstly be reminded of the importance of wearing masks in crowded places. If the amount of masks is insufficient, they should add more factories to fill them up. Richer countries like yours can do that. Am I wrong?
They are thinking of lockdown first. No, I don’t think so. Wearing mask should be the first. That will greatly lower the number of the confirmed and thus the graph will go toward your goal.
Do you know most Asians are also bothered to wear masks though not to the point of hatred?
The biggest reason of virus spread is that there you often see some potential virus carriers who ignore the virus’ jump span. There is no better way to prevent yourself from such people than wearing a mask. Please please note that covering your face doesn’t mean you’re in trouble. Do you see the S.Korea’s statistics? Its graph shows that the situation in Korea is now stabilizing. Why? Please note that the absolute majority of S.Koreans are WEARING FACIAL MASKS. Why again? They think the habit of wearing mask is not the last thing but the first thing to protect themselves and others together. They are genetically natural to know what is most conducive to their survival, because they have numerous experiences of overcoming national disasters. Yes, I’m a South Korean.

So, please don’t hesitate to wear masks in crowded places any more. Put your cultural preconceptions aside and be willing to sacrifice the freedom of the face for greater freedom. Otherwise, astounding number of people may face an unprecedented catastrophe that no one tell them where to go. Let’s overcome disasters wisely together by following good precedents. I really hope not to be so.

  8. I’m Irish, living in Malaysia. We are on total lockdown. Yesterday in went to the supermarket. I got my temperature taken and my hands sprayed with disinfectant. There’s road blocks, with army (tanks).

This to protect me and us.

America, get over it. Otherwise you will lose many. Please.

    1. @huh what … Not a slave. Not at all. Just wait and watch America. Come back to this post in a month’s time and we can talk ‘slavery’.

    2. @Declan Kearns You’re wasting your breath warning the white witless waifs who watch MSNBC – they detest anything remotely smelling of personal responsibility and critical thinking – just protect you and yours, the dummies wearing “I’m With Her!” t-shirts (still unwashed from 2016) aren’t interested in following your instructions – clay and crayons are challenging for them as well.

    3. In USA more people gone die than in Asia because 60% of population has cronic disease from to be fat

    1. Testing makes literally zero sense. If you dont have it one day you very well could have it the next day. They cant test people on a daily basis…..rediculous.

    2. @crimescene25 In China, even if you are negative in the test, you have to get a CT scanning of your lungs. The diagnosis is combined with both testing results and medical symptoms. Some people even got 7 times of the test to get a positive result.

    3. Fienyx Sounds like involuntary “protective custody” to me. I don’t like the extremity of that man’s ideas. If someone wants to quarantine at home, it should be allowed.

    4. @Tall Diana Ye and then they pass the virus on to their family members without knowing it and then their family members went out for work and buy groceries and pass on to other people, next thing you know is that you’ll have 10,000+ new cases each day. That’s just the best scenario, where you don’t have people who KNOW they have the virus should be quarantined still going outside, which in my opinion is the more realistic case.

  9. I remember when Hurricane Irma was devastating Florida people in Texas were yelling “It’s a hoax to set up martial law and take away our rights”. What happened to that? Those are the same people that think this whole thing is a hoax. Everything is a hoax and a conspiracy for them.

    1. IKR? Who are these people that think everything is a conspiracy?
Are they mentally ill? Why do they believe that? Is it a political group?
What do they hope to achieve? How many of them are there?
I find this new phenomenon of denial of reality quite interesting.

  10. Why is such a big deal to be on lockdown for a little for societies safety I really don’t get it?

    1. Staying home (for 2 weeks) kills the virus & you’re not contagious anymore. Like colds & flus, some people are carriers & they don’t know it & it’s transmitted quickly. COVID-19 isn’t like regular colds & flus, it gets deeper into the lungs & hangs on. People can be showing regular cold/flu symptoms for 2 weeks, then they take a turn & need to be on ventilators &/or die. People are dying that didn’t even know they had an underlying condition.

    1. It’s not. The research scientists control what they want to look into. I don’t want a test because I’m not a hypochondriac.

    2. He is holding back signing a Defense funding to release test kits. He has test kits! He is PURE EVIL!

    3. @Robert Miller Question, where is the PPE, the masks, the vents that have been promised for the last two weeks? The tests that he lied about. “Oh, millions of tests will be available”. Sure, NY is getting some equipment but hardly anything to heal and help the sick and the medical professionals. NYC is now our ground zero, if you will or epicenter. I’m close to NY and it gives me no comfort. Calling someone a moron isn’t a good reflection on you. Facts are good. Name calling bad.

  11. I can’t believe anyone still watches this insanity and thinks it has any merit.
    Propaganda and fearmongering 101
