  1. Any virologist/Epidemiologist worth their salt will tell you that cruise liners are viral and bacterial incubators. Norovirus anybody? The Japanese authorities have to be honest the passengers and tell them the are expected to get the virus and form orderly line to be treated, rather than risk unregulated contact with the Japanese population.

    1. Did you know coronavirus is a bioweapon warfare virus? The Japanese know what it is, they don’t tell the people on the ship to avoid panic, but they don’t dare to let anyone go free. If someone tell you is just like any other influenza virus, they are fool!

  2. Hate to tell the passengers, but they probably are going to be quarantined for 2 weeks after the last known case on the ship. They may never get off.

    1. I saw a video sourcing a nurse in China that only 10% of diagnostic kits needed are being provided to medical staff. So the true number of infected we dont know it would seem.

    2. none none Quarantine means just that! Confinement on your cabin!!
No bar service, no entertainment. TV only. Food/ drinks delivery to your cabin 3x a day.

    3. Not necessary. I guess after 2 weeks they’ll just let everybody go who doesn’t show symptoms. You are never 100% safe with contagious diseases, therefore a mere likelihood that nobody will infect others after that time is good enough.

    1. Mitchell Deliman I’ve tried Diet Pepsi before and I thought it tasted horrible. I’ve never tried diet cola, but if you say it tastes good then I might try it sometime.

  3. Been on a submarine for over a decade – times like this make me so glad that experience was more than enough “sea time,” and I never felt the need to go on a luxury cruises.

    1. You livin under the sea. You should get some sunshine just above the oceans.
Just don’t ask us about the ventilation filters ok.

  4. I saw a report (that I can’t verify, and plenty of nonsense goes on with this kind of thing) saying that the virus is contagious by airborne contact. Not direct physical contact– not only by way of sneezing or close physical contact– but by way of airborne aerosols of the virus.
    If true, that changes everything.

    1. The virus is no airborne. People are confusing human fluids being airborne with the actual virus being airborne.

  5. Theoretically nobody can leave the ship until there is a period of at least two weeks where no new infection are registered, and that could be an indefinite time span.

    1. What about 1000 plus people a day during due to prescription drugs. That’s scary but 1000 due to a flu virus that would have killed the same regardless of source is making a panic. This is media hype.

  6. I’m not a scientist but I’m guessing if you keep everyone together on a ship with a few people sick it’s gonna spread.

I’m not trying to make people panic but I don’t think they are gonna control this virus 🦠 to many people are now infected and no one trust china government so people are hiding or running away. This one doesn’t feel right

    1. @Toto Tita moving the goalposts every day to keep anxiety up in peoples minds
Still no deaths outside of china except for an old man in Philippines

    2. @Ian P some did past on in other countrys I survised the AIDS hepidemic by staying safe this one I’m not so sure from what my chinese freinds tell me many thing are cover and worst and they dont tell us all see on youtube the ones that expose the news from china indup missing !!!!!!!!!!

    3. From the main media, Low threat, few days ago, medium threat yesterday, Grave threat today…
I figured that out more that 3 weeks ago when China lock down. Some say you can be a carrier of this virus for 24 days… so 14 days is not enough for the quarantine i say… I think we are heading for a wild ride in the next few weeks to come before we get good sunshine to help kill this virus… Every countries should close there borders yesterday.. Until we get all the true facts and real numbers, And understand better this virus.

    1. @Amit lekhwar Allah is watching your people as well.
Your religion isn’t any more sacred or special than any other.
      Get over yourselves already.

    2. It’s not even that. Some of the crew were infected. The people that were exposed, then exposed other people before the ship was quarantined. That same crew has also been delivering food to passengers, living in close proximity to each other, and have probably spread it to how knows how many people.

    1. @Lisa Langille Any virus that can stay active on exposed surface, why wouldn’t it be airborne? Viruses aren’t technically alive right? Only activated and deactivated. Like in food prep 165F is what deactivates viruses well 165 to 212 F. Dont know if your from the US but idiot trump thinks viruses die in april. Lol

    1. The 24 was a reoccurring infection. Which means they had it, didn’t have very many symptoms. But then got reinfected and it makes it seem like it’s 24 days. However the average incubation period is only 3 days.

  7. Let me guess, that number is going to increase until everyone on the ship has it? I may be a psychic!

    1. Here’s the thing, we know that the virus can spread before people show symptoms of infection.
We also know that young, healthy and strong individuals might never develop symptoms- but still be contageous.
We also know that people who have preconditions concering the rhespotary system are at the greatest risk of becoming very sick or dying.
We were told by the WHO that vaccines could be as far away as 18 months- in limited supplies.

There’s a reason why the chinese government has put entire cities in quaranteenes, putting a ship of ~3500 people in isolation is nothing compared to what the chinese are doing to try and control this virus.
Over 43.000 people have been confirmed to have the virus, just over 1000 have been confirmed to be dead from it. But those numbers doesn’t show all those who have it but not gotten sick, or not turned to medical aid. The chinese government has been seen pulling dozens of bodies and hundreds of patiens out of private homes, people are in denial or unaware of their condition. China are using drones with speakers to inform people to stay home…

I’ve read estimations of over 500.000 potential carriers of the virus, many will not ever see symptoms. That’s why massive lockdowns are needed, the virus isn’t as deadly as some of the other epedemics we’ve seen… but it’s way more contageous and much harder to track down.
This outbreak is a very good example of why vaccines are so important, even if they have side effects (which are few and far between). It only takes a few strong people carrying the virus to transmit it around before it hits someone who are weak, then it starts hurting people. Herd protection model, when a high enough percentage of the population are protected, stops viruses from spreading. That’s the main objective, no, the only objective of vaccines. Vaccines isn’t about stopping *YOU* from becoming sick although it’s a very nice bonus, vaccines is about stopping viruses from spreading to those who can’t be vaccinated for medical reasons. Anti-vaxxers are murderes as far as I’m concerned, they should lose their parental and voting rights immidiately.

  8. If I were on that ship, I’d be googling to find out how the ships air condtioning was designed and installed.

  9. When you figure out it takes 40 days not 2 weeks to clear these patient’s. If that is correct. This hasn’t even started yet.

24 days incubation 14 days gestation.

    Can you add?

    1. @WillKill 1979 in Wuhan they have2 labs to test new wapons why chineses from Wuhan talking on youtube and sites indup missing after few days it this normal what china lies !!!!!!!!

    1. As a test case, the rate of spread is much much higher than is being claimed in China. It seems to confirm suspicion of China’s under reporting.
