  1. Good question Chris at 6:31 – if no public safety risk, why are they incarcerated in the first place. US has relatively very high incarceration rates – time to rethink policy? Jails are expensive to run. Or are we now forced to fill the jails which have been privatized?

    1. @Richard Swenson To late Richard the horse has bolted and is long gone 87% of NYC prisoners tested positive and it is spreading faster than the orange fake tan across trumps cheeks The real questions are how many prison staff have taken home this virus and unknowingly and infected their families and Will the state then be held responsible for not supplying PPE masks ,gloves ,visors and Hazardous materials suits When they knew in January the potential of the virus to spread through the system

    2. @Mark Froggatt I don’t understand.. if they are on bail they wouldn’t be locked up? If your on bail that means your not in jail..

    3. @Richard Swenson that’s a dam shame.. it’s not much better in the state prison farms we have here in Texas.. these mass building don’t have air conditioning or heat..

    4. John Lacy I’m sorry, you’re absolutely right. What I mean to say was that many people who are NOT on bail but are detained pending trial (“remanded in custody” as we would say in the UK) often pose no real risk and may simply not be able to post bond. There must be more imaginative or creative ways to ensure that they answer to the court, without burdening an already overcrowded prison system. That was my point. Apologies for the misstatement!

  2. You have to understand, your 1% owners need to make more money. What a great way, to increase profit, by locking people. For profit corporate prisons, greed is alive and doing great in the USA!

    1. @SorbusAucuparia You’re correct. You should now be known as ‘The Land of the Fee, Home of the Slave’.

    2. Best believe they are only releasing people because they don’t want to pay the bill… hospitals & test sites are not doing all these tests & treatment for free. Saw on the news for a test site and they proudly reminded you to bring your insurance card

    3. @Samsung J3 lol your name is Samsung J3?? That phone sucks! Why would you name your self that on YouTube?

  3. The jail system is a good indication that government hasn’t planned at all if it’s that prevalent in a locked down facility your city is just as worse

    1. no coronadiseas + vaccines yearly+ escapees, death of thousands yearly >< 54,000, ,,/recently passed Espanol, Italy,,,,,,,, wuhan center,,,

    2. @leonardimas1 And still it isn’t enough what they do. People leave New York anmd spreading it fast. The US has the biggest growth of all countries and is now having the most infected people that are teated and it’s still growing.
It will get fast even worse and the amount of deaths will go op a lot.
This is just the start. Trump sucks and some people do there best, but many still act if they are safe and take it as a joke, especially young people. But they can also die from it and they don’t understand that, till it is to late.

    3. @Pete Lind America must stop this madness of incarcerating people for minor drug offences the largest prison population in the world in the land of the free ironic really

    4. @Pete Lind THEN STOP BREAKING THE LAWS!!!!!!! I DO NOT BREAK THE LAWS SO IM NOT IN JAIL OR PRISON!!!!!
GROW UP AND STOP BREAKING THE LAWS……

    1. Friend of mine did 2 years in prison for an old joint stub that he forgot about. It sat in his backpack for over five years, he put it on and went into a federal building … bye bye 2 years. BTW, his wife and five kids collected welfare those 2 years and he stopped paying taxes on a $75,000/year job. After he got out, they declared bankruptcy, kept the house (it was exempt) , but a bunch of banks lost money on all the credit card loans that his family used to survive on while he was incarcerated.

  4. If I know anything about the US of A.., thais that they be super happy to see their prisoners die in jail..? I could be wrong.. but …

    1. New york has tested all inmates, that’s why they know that 87% have the virus, which is a good idea, so they can take some measure to protect this people, New York is taking huge measures to save people, they fill empty hotels with homeless people ect. gov. Cuomo and his staff doing a great job, they don’t ignore this people, otherwise they wouldn’t tell about it and just let it die!!! they also do what is possible to save lives, compare to Trump, he doesn’t care about NY, since the outbreak he is now always in Florida, he let his own hometown alone!! this orange moron, he would let all the prisoners and homeless die, without hesitation

    2. leonardimas1
Mate I apologise!, fore sure my comment is only re that part of the US population that are so…, there must be a part of the population.. the US is from memory the most heavily incarcerated nation…, recently heard of a guy being released after 43 yrs in solidarity, I understand because he was proved to have not done it.., some Southern state just executed a guy that did pull the trigger.. because… principals..
But yeap that for sure ain’t the whole

    3. @leonardimas1 *Andrew Cuomo/Dr. Anthony Fauci 2020*
The DNC needs to ditch Biden and nominate Andrew!
C’mon, DNC! You can make this ticket happen!

    1. i can assure you that Trump and his team will fence themselves off. have you seen ivaka and Jarett. they are all safe and fenced off while the rest of the population struggles

    2. US has more people in prison per capita than any country in the world. Literally the worst police state in the world.

    3. @Aaron Z. its the worst country especially if you have melanin. Imagine the number of people that have to decide between a bus fare and food. America is fine you have light skin. Those that can’t leverage that are just collateral

  5. Imagine being violated for weed and getting this virus and dieing..weed..who freakn cares..the real criminals are running the country

    1. Could be for a traffic violation as minor as jaywalking that you didn’t have the means to pay.

    2. I’m so glad they did this I have a weed pipe charge it was cbd weed totally legal but they said they couldn’t tell a difference

    3. I got a weed charge last month in Arkansas and I live in Texas, my homie who came bailed me out lives in Louisiana …true story drove 6 hours to get ya boy but imagine if that happened a week ago

  6. The plight of the incarcerated and homeless will go largely ignored because these people are expendable in our society. Sad.

    1. THEN DON’T DO THE CRIME.
No one was bored a felon or a drug runner.
I have no sympathy for felons and murderes.
I will use ANY LEGAL MEANS NECESSARY TO PROTECT MY FAMILY. I have 2nd ammendment rights!!!!!

  7. Every broken system in the USA will now show its face^^. Bad medical care, bad/no social net, too many inmates

    1. Haha so true so so true I have been praying for years for American justice system would get called out and medical. For profit prisons and hospitals. There are judges that own stock in for profit jails.

    2. IF PEOPLE WOULD STOP KILLING, CHILD MOLESTING, ROBBERS, DRUG TRAFFICKING, HUMAN TRAFFICKING THE JAILD WOULD NOT BE OVERCROUDED.

    3. @Jeff Gulbrandson Are you kidding!!!! Don’t do the crime. I hope all Americans will take a proactive measures if any convicted felons, or any one tries to hurt my children or break into my home they will be met with deadly force!!!!!!!!
      I DONT PLAY GAMES……

  8. This DA Krasner seems pretty oriented toward reality. Jails equals Cruise ships. That is a new one, but likely more true than not.

    1. And retail and fast food workers. And healthcare workers. And first responders. Basically the working class.
How was Harvey f-ing Weinstein able to get tested when everyone in the above mentioned groups can’t?

    2. @hammer they tested him because he had to go to prison, i think, they tested all inmates, that’s why they know that 87% have the virus, which is a good idea, so can take some measure to protect this people, and Susan Iru, i don’t think they will sacrifice this people, otherwise they wouldn’t tell about it and just let it die!! New York is taking huge measures to save people, they fill empty hotels with homeless people ect. no,gov. Cuomo and his staff doing a great job

    1. This is what Trump said in February. A liberal group ran commercials with that quote, and they were immediately pulled because Trump’s delusional lawyers think this is slander.

    1. Don’t hold your breath. Too costly and not enough to go around. Let them all die or let them all go, I say.

    2. No the US is releasing up to 200,000 infected prisoners back into the community daily as part of the prisoners normal release dates while incarcerating and as a result infecting many more some on minor charges…Stop this madness now !!! 87% of New Yorks detainees tested positive if you take that statistic nation wide 87% of over 2 million is a potentially a lot of Americans in the firing line especially when you consider the families lovingly waiting for their relative to return and the dangers that presents Some prisoners are preparing themselves right now for imminent release with no screening Many will unwittingly carry the virus home to continue the epidemics assault America needs to test its Military Medical workers Students and prisoners in fact any large groups that live in close proximity as a matter of urgency so we can protect lives people are going to suffer needlessly and die never mind health resources overrun Otherwise we may as well hug it out and take our chances and get this thing over with

    3. NO RELEASE FOR PRISONERS
I WILL PROTECT MY FAMILY BY ALL LEGAL MEANS. DON’T STOP ON MY PROPERTY OR COME NEAR MY FAMILY. YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF IN TROUBLE.

  9. Yeah let’s let out all the non-violent offenders that never should have been in jail in the first place.
    Sounds good to me.

    1. Im sure 25% prisoners shouldn’t be in jail! Some desperate guy still few snacks from 7/11 and judge give him 6 month or year in jail! Sad!

  10. Imagine how f’d up it’s gonna be when food and water runs out 🤪🤬☠️😯That stimulus check won’t last long 🤪🤬
