It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that his testimony was completely invalid and frankly not one you would expect from somebody who wrote the report themself. The housing market crashed and Wall Street kept their financial products (CDOs – collective debt obligations) at the same price, even though most of the debt was household debt, until they could sell all of them. They even bet on them failing with insurance companies. A sure bet because they had already failed. The insurance companies went broke and couldn’t pay and whole financial system ran out of money. In short, greed is what happened. They thought they could make money even when they could see it failing.
