One of the largest ships in the world was refloated and was moving through the Suez Canal on Monday after being grounded for seven days, authorities said.
Hopes heightened that hundreds of waiting ships would soon be sailing through the crucial global waterway. The stern of the Ever Given, which had been grounded about four yards from the bank, earlier had been swung more than 100 yards away, the Egyptian-owned Suez Canal Authority said in a statement.

In my opinion
How many billions us this going to cost me.
Billions of billions…
Wait until the ripple effect is upon us.
Maybe even thousands
@I’m Negan lol. Oh man. That’s the bottom of the barrel
In my opinion
You can’t afford it
I feel bad for all of the ships that decided to go the long way!
why? there is going to be a massive backup in the canal for weeks given all the ships waiting. the ones that went the long way will be on the other side well before the others waiting.
even the ships that decided to stay in line may not be faster, but they will save a lot of fuel
@SuperFkv – But they are going to work extra hours now
@Michael Voight True that . but many ships has goods to sell in spring and not summer
SAVE THE CHILDREN
The global economy had a constipation there for a few days. Glad we didnt all go down the toilet.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Don’t you just hate getting one stuck cross ways
Yeah, I was a little pissed having to wait longer than the usual 6-8 weeks for my highest quality product from China Land.
Don’t you think they should widen the canal or ban ships of this size so that this can’t happen again? I suppose that would that would make too much sense to enact, instead, let’s stop worldwide trade.
The captain is like- Can I try another U turn now!🤣
“Hold my beer”
Is there enough “0’s” for the price tag ? Lots of damage ! ! !
And the name is now changed to “NEVER FORGIVEN”…
Ever Green describes the Captain? Didn’t he sideswipe a ferry too?
The ship company will lose a LOT of green from lawsuits.
It’s going for an inspection before it embarks on its journey.
Too bad the truth about those containers couldn’t be exposed!
@somthingbrutal let’s x-ray and find out who may be in those containers – why would a shipping container have seats and air compressors?
@Warning Signs because someone ordered them
@Warning Signs So you have no evidence. Pal, I think using an x ray would be a search, and you need probable cause to do a search.
@Warning Signs Um, where exactly are you going with that whole seats and compressed air thing? Do you mean like in the shipping container itself? So what does the fact that were shipping conpressed air and seats prove? Or do you mean like not in the containers and on the ship itself? The crew need a place to sit. And compressed air has a lot of uses.
@Warning Signs So how does some conspiracy theorist being taken down prove that there are covert human smuggling operations in shipping containers?
Looks to still not be actually moving. That’s what happens when you hire the captain of the Concordia for your ship.
The effects of a time compounding problem are finally set on a plane, were all can pass. What ever you pay the salvage team ,It will come with a “thanks” you can’t pay
Illegal people in container saying are we there yet?
This is really a black eye for the University of Phoenix’s online ship’s captain program.
Bigguy 33 🤠
wondering what is inside some of these ships that require compressed air and seats? those are very queer accessories for shipping container ships
@Warning Signs The crew need places to sit. And compressed air has alot of uses. Checking for leaks is one.
I found the whole ordeal entirely fascinating.
and satisfying
hello
If microsoft had a ship simulator, this would’ve never happened.
Bill Gates to the rescue – vaccine in hand!!~!
Well, how many airplanes have we successfully landed on the Hudson waterway before someone decided to run the damn thing through the simulators. It usually only takes one very large mistake to wake everyone up. Run your simulations again next week to see if this scenario is there yet
It was the mandatory required Suez Canal Pilot that was navigating the ship. This is because they are trained to handle large ships through the narrow canal. The Captain be like, ” WTF” did you just do ?
60 years ago my father turned over his home – a mobile home –
To a required transportation expert for a 90 mile trip through Idaho. As you guessed — this guy crashed my father’s home leaving everything inside blowing across the highway. His wife ( my mom) of 6 months was not amused . I feel for the captain of this vessel. It could have been much worse. Good job to all who worked so hard.
Finally the famous container ship, Ever Stuck , is free and on the move after being stuck in the Suez Canal for days.
I read the headlines in my local paper about the ships waiting that had animals in them. I couldn’t bear to read the article. I got as far as 90K sheep in one hold.
It’s a miracle from god and never happened before to rescue a giant ship without emptying it in 6 days. Thanks to all efforts from Egyptians and the Dutch
It will be interesting to see the outcome of a Marine Surveyor’s report after inspection at Bittersweet Lake. I think the vessel is grossly overladen.
They need to “park” this container ship at Great Bitter Lake and have engineers do a major inspection of everything on this ship first.
