The stench of repression.
Fight the good fight this is what we need to do in america
They are fighting to keep their social programs. I am rather skeptical that you support universal healthcare and retirement benefits.
@Sevenfold120 Well your skepticism would be wrong because I’m a socialist bucko. Why do you think I said we should be doing the same thing here
Looks cloudy, but mostly peaceful
Reporters go where the action is and into to danger for a story. Thanks Melissa.
But do they tell us the truth of the story
Props to Melissa for diving into the commentary inhaling tear gas fumes!
That stuff is nasty!
Grateful to all reporters who are willing to put themselves in harm’s way to keep us informed.
Lies again? She should had reported it not got in the middle of it
It’s hard for Americans who must wait until 67 to retire to have sympathy here.
Who wants to work until 67 ?? That’s exactly why people are in these streets.
Same in the UK mate
Much love to her ❤
You don’t have to be that close to report… never knew why they did that.😮
For BROWNIE POINTS
It might get them a Pulitzer 😂
Whatever you do, don’t talk about what the protest is about.
Be safe 🙏🙏🙏
They are willing to put their own lives in danger to get out the news as well as possible. God bless them for trying.
i get that media is hard to trust, but work like this should be respected. Getting first hand accounts
Journalists deal with the bulls hit so we don’t have to! Thanks for doing a tough job.
melissa, you have to put on a mask, we french are used to tear gas but not you 😂
“The tear gas is so heavy” “give me a second while I walk right through the thick of it”
Well done the French, stand up against the big corporations and their puppets.
Your post is as good as any to point this out … Your paranoia, Caleb and abysmal lack of knowledge is blatantly risible. Even from your mom’s basement.
These protests in France are about the raising of the state pension age from 62yr old to 64 yr old …. Why does the rise in age need to happen?
Because, my GOP supporting friend, as an economist I know there is a figure at which the PAYG (Pay As You Go) pension schemes of any EU country or indeed any country with a similar economic structure, must not go past in terms of the benefits budget … and that figure is 24% of adults. So leaving 76% of adults are not retired and still economically active.
In simple terms: If one has X amount of people paying taxation and Y amount collecting state pensions …. Then if Y exceeds 24% of the adult population, the country simply cannot afford the pensions bill and must borrow on a permanent basis. In essence then, collapsing the entire economy. Or, there must be huge, massive tax rises.
Tax risies eh Caleb, you’d love that no doubt. Something else to complain about.
So pretty please …. Why don’t you and all your little friends of a similar ilk across social media, _all try reading some books_
I hope the people win
Being forced to retire at 60 ain’t right. I would definitely protest against that.
