Death by a thousand stabs. Faux can’t write a big enough check. Dominion and Smartmatic are doing the world a favor!
@Taylor Fox 👈. You must be drinking too much Bud Light beer.
@M Hall You still eating lead paint chips?
Would rather have had Fox be dragged through the Courts.
Lets see what Smartmatic’s does in their case against the Fox Losers. I have a feeling Smartmatic will take the trial no matter what Murdoch or Fox proposes as a settlement.
@Trent Timoy Being that Faux settled with Dominion that just makes the other cases against them stronger.
@Mister Hat I agree. Smartmatic was defamed as well and the LIARS will have to pay them. I’m just hoping that Smartmatic might actually (or someone) take them to court and Not settle.
Smartmatic will most likely settle too if the payout is so big. I wonder how they calculated it.
If it was about the truth part of the settlement should have been having to admit wrongdoing on air
@C. Cadon 🤣, but not funny, typical Biden voter!
@Linda Selander i voted for 2pac.
@C. Cadon well at least you didn’t vote for creepy uncle joe!
@Linda Selander bleep, bleep, bloop says the bot..
This is a corporation vs another corporation, it was obviously about money.
@Andrew Call I don’t see it either.
Ya pretty much. It’s just business.
@Alex Frideres Can’t see what you said. You must have used verboten wording or a word.
Lawyers with biggest smiles as they just got paid 💰💰💰
33 and a third.
It was a settlement for money, not a victory for truth.
@Jose Gomez malarkey
Get the my pillow guy to pay up next.
Highest journalistic standards? WTF are they talking about?
On drugs high.
I mean, they’re as high as CNN. Or did CNN viewers forget about Nick Sandman?
Seriously, this was asked? Did anyone ever think any of those guys would talk in court? Dominion knew they’d pay… now it’s just about sweeping things under the rug again. I’m shocked we even know the amount of the settlement. I assumed there’d be enough NDAs to wallpaper my room.
That statement from Fox is hardly an admission of guilt. I wouldn’t have been happy with that. I wish them all the best going forward with their other cases.
Like a lawyer would EVER tell the truth 😂 🐍
He was very good about deflecting.
It was all about the dollars. These lawyers don’t care about the truth and accountability.
“The settlement reflects Fox’s continuous commitment to the highest journalstic standards.” ???? Are they saying that lying is a part of the journalistic standard???
We have to check which colleges and universities Fox News staff attended and graduated from.
@Harold I’m as mad at fox, as you are at CNN for defaming Nick Sandman. 😂
I was so hurt they took the money. I was ready for Rupert Murdoch, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlsson, etc, to testify…we as Americans needed these people to stand trial… honestly, I’m more disappointed then anything. Dominion proved to me it was 100% about the money..not the lies.
Of course it was about the money. Who would think otherwise?
They weren’t the only company suing. Smartmatic is suing them for $2.7 Billion.
@Paul No doubt also will be offered a handsome payout rather than trial, which they will also likely accept.
I suspect the public apologies and retractions will be required of key _individuals_ on the Dominion and Smart-Matic lawsuit list, like Powell and Giuliani.
If Dominion executives really cared about their reputation, rather than about the money, they would be sharing half of the settlement windfall with their employees. This is not going to stop threats or harassment against their employees, and it may even escalate it.
*quote continued : …And so, while Dominion hasn’t gone all the way through with this to the point of a jury verdict* , they certainly have done a lot to expose the mendacity behind Fox’s reporting.”
*Quote* : “The judge said, look, you’re not going to be able to cloak yourself in the First Amendment and tell this jury that everything you ever say is protected speech without consequence at all. That was really, probably the beginning of these serious settlement discussions because…
*Quote continued* : …..I think that what we wanted, what we needed was accountability, and we got that in two forms, both in the summary judgment opinion that they finally acknowledged today. They acknowledged that the statements that they broadcast on their air were false, but also in the fact that this case didn’t settle until now.”
6:09 “the truth knows no red or blue…”
In my mind I can hear Murdoch saying “it knows green”
they never should have settled without an on air confession that they purposely lied
Settling out of court was all about money – they knew if they let it go to trial, that they would win, but then it could be appealed, and so they might NEVER get their money! Letting them off the hook and not making an apology part of the settlement seriously did more harm than good! FN will go back to business as usual. Their viewers don’t even know there was a trial going on! I know, I asked some family members, and they had no idea what I was talking about!
