  1. I’m so glad the United States spend so much money in the billions and trillions of dollars to Afghanistan and Iraq while America is starving its citizens of basic human rights to have universal health care, no green new deal, high speed rail, no UBI and no money to fix the Flint, Michigan water pipes? But let’s giving corporate America and billionaires more tax cuts and even more military spending for the Pentagon. The rich can’t get rich enough.

    1. The other thing that allows that to keep happening is the blind pride in your military that is hammered into every American from conception. There is no justification for the money you keep dumping into your military (if national military spending is put in an ordered list, the US spends more on their military than the next seven nations combined), while claiming there isn’t enough money to fund the social programs every other developed nation on the planet enjoys. Although if every American is made to believe your military is the most important thing in the universe, you’ll continue to support it, to your own detriment, and you do.

    2. @Someone Else Oh, the delicious irony. We are brainwashed to believe that the military exists to protect our freedoms, yet, we reside in a country that is governed by the willful acceptance of mental slavery.

    3. DRSmetal iam sorry but what about people in 3rd world countries where they dream of another day I live in USA but you got to see where USA went wrong with the war and the problems have been in us for many years and yet us Texas payers and still haven’t been solved

    4. The same people who blew $6 trillion on war will blow just as much on the Green new deal. Don’t you get it? Government is incompetent at EVERYTHING they do.

    1. But if they do that, how will your government be able to continue to justify more than half of your annual budget every years needs to go to your military, that the amount given each year needs to be increased, and that there’s not enough money in your budget to provide the social services every other developed nation on the planet enjoys? This is the reason why blind pride in your military is hammered into every American from conception, there is no justification for the money you keep dumping into your military, but if every American is made to believe your military is the most important thing in the universe, you’ll continue to support it, to your own detriment.

    2. The war in Afghanistan was not staged. It may have been poorly executed, but it was not a theatrical performance. Three thousand authenic Americans died on 911. There has not been a repeat performance. We still need a policing action in Afghanistan just as we do at the Korean DMZ.

    3. @ruth depew what we need to do is to bring the troops home as the job of the US military is not to police the world.

  2. American military deaths in Afghanistan since July 2018 total 237

    Civilian Contractor deaths total 1720

    20,320 wounded

  3. War fighters know what is going on. Bring in the troops, set up a base and fart around for years and years. Not allowed to sweep through the entire area and clean out the enemy the way a real war is waged.
The rich need wars to maintain their fortunes and the poor need jobs to eat. Perfect match.

  4. Thank you MSNBC for elevating this very important issue of wasteful wars. Thank you for supporting Tulsi Gabbards talking points. I am sure as you say, you were aware of this all along. I just missed all your reporting of it.

    1. Well, to be fair, every other stock value went up in that time. At least since 2008. Thanks to quantitative easing. It is not to say, that the increase in value was because of the war. That would be cherry picking for a conclusion.

  5. The weapon machinery has destroyed Afghanistan 🇦🇫 I was 9 when I left Afghanistan but since then I have seen USA put the wrong people in making decisions about Afghanistan for almost 40 years. We need the afghans who are not trying to fill their pockets. But help built the country & take the guns out

  6. “What are we doing in Afghanistan?” This same question was asked by both the Russians in the 1970s and the Brits in the1840s and the 1870s. It is a land whose values the Western Empires have never managed to fully understand or change. Like the Vietnam war, when you are fighting people who, unlike Americans, have nothing to lose, they see no point in surrender.

  7. I can only hope the conviction that Chris Hayes seemingly holds against the war in Afghanistan holds true if Trump tries to pull us out of there.

  8. Remember…. as a precedent The Soviet Union also failed and pulled out of Afghanistan having accomplished NOTHING constructive !
its time all the foreign parties involved END financing and support to the fighters private and National .
