  1. The people that have the power to stop the climate crisis and the people responsible for the climate crisis will continue to ignore it until it effects them and their wallets.

    1. Exactly right, a politician in Australia only last month denying climate change, was forced to watch his town burn. He is now coming out and saying we need to do something about climate change, only took the lose of all his freinds houses and livelihoods to change his mind.

    2. Craig Simpson … By harnessing the brilliant minds in Australia and making a plan.
Denying and being helpless is not the way

  2. I LOVE MY SUNBURNT
    COUNTRY
    A LAND OF SWEEPING
    PLAINS
    NOT A BURNT OUT COUNTRY
    CHARRED AND SWEPT BY FLAMES.
    please carbon pollution climate deniers….
please have a look at your handy work…
Please own your evil handy work.
    Your darkened souls have
    defiled our landscape.
    We will remember .

    1. Aussie Jim don’t forget the arsonists or pyromaniacs who started the fires not all are naturally occurring

    2. @CRedding94 umm…. regardless of what caused the PETM, it resulted in mass extinctions. That’s not something to be snarky about. Even if we agree it’s not anthropogenic (which we can’t, because there’s too much evidence that it is), there’s still cause for alarm. Highest CO2 levels in 56 million years is not something to brush off and not worry about, it’s something to take very, very seriously.

  3. Sweet Jebus! Australia is on fire. as long as there is someone in power profiting don’t expect any changes.

    1. Yes, his name is Scott Morrison and he buggered of on a holiday to Hawaii while the country he governs was on fire. Which shows exactly how much we can expect him to do in facing up to the problem.

    2. @CRedding94 Haven’t you got enough scandal, corruption, natural and unnatural disasters at home Mr ‘MAGA’ to keep you busy?

    3. @derry667dingo Morrison is a _prostitute…_ just like Dirty Don the Con.
They take bribes from the industry changing the climate, then go on holiday when the bill comes due.

    4. @CB BC Too true. Alligators love SWAMPS, that’s why he’s changed his official residence to Florida. There he can feel totally at home, you know, just like the Hanna-Barbera Cartoon character Wally Gator! Trump should just leave the White House permanently. He’s messed it up so much it’ll take years to clean up, especially the stink of fast food KFC. Sheesh!

  4. The Aussie prime minister is a religious nutter and climate change denier, he wants the world to be consumed in a flaming apocalypse to fulfill his warped beliefs.

    1. @Stuart Hancock on behalf of the sane part of the states.. We call people like him that as well… please excuse our mess.. inbreeding is still a major problem in this country..

    2. @CRedding94 so.. I think you have embarassed our country enough for one day… just stop. Also if you are going to yell “science” so loudly research how to avoid confirmation bias first..

    3. They kicked out Malcom Turnbull for this pitiful COWARD. Fkng loser. Well done liberals dumb fks. Sydneysider here

    4. @CRedding94 I’m pretty sure the Big Oil people are real honest about how their 45 Trillion in ,wells wars, tankers, refineries pipelines, drilled but not tapped oil deposits, and ongoing exploration is good for everything forever. If you’re that naivete to believe that huge money is what ongoing science is all about then ,you must believe that the Earth has unlimited capacity for punishment and pollution and population.Yea the Exxon boys got real good data on how to keep things goin their way.

    5. Lorraine Bateman LOL U R is short hand for YOU ARE, not YOUR. If you’re going to spell check someone at least finish 1st grade first!

  5. Some of this footage is filmed just outside our town in New South Wales. We are fine for now but only because incredibly brave men and women from the NSW Rural Fire Service stand between us and the fire front. Many of those who are out defending us are Volunteers that gave us their Christmas instead of spending it with their families. They risk their lives without pay to save the lives and property of people they don’t know. This is the definition of hero.

    1. Conclave luminis keep safe, watching in horror from the UK. I hope the ‘government’ can increase the support efforts required.

    2. Conclave luminis They are true hero’s❤️We all share this planet and we all need to help each other out in times of catastrophes.

    3. I’m so glad Morrison has finally agreed to release funds to help support volunteer firies and their families. I’m just furious it took so long to do so. These fires have been burning since October and it’s only getting worse. Every state is on fire. Stay safe, from Victoria.

    1. @Anthony J I’m done caring what the filthy traitor says!
Ian’s right. He needs to go. He’s putting the entire world in danger.
      vote.gov

    2. @Anthony J Australia is in its 8th year of drought. You may come over and use your water divining sticks if you like. Or perhaps do a rain dance. We already have your USA firefighters assisting our firies along with NZ and Canadian fire fighters. PS Please don’t sent Donald

  6. While Australia burns, our fearless leader Scott Morrison went on holidays to Hawaii. There is a culture of corruption and entitlement in politics in Australia and around the world. There is a lack of scrutiny {because Murdoch owns and controls the media in America, England and Australia} and no accountability for their actions, they care only about enriching themselves and their minions at the expense of the people and the environment. We have a water and bush fire crisis because of the continued mismanagement of our resources and the self interest of politicians. Greedy, corrupt politicians deserve to be voted out of office.

    1. And don’t forget the fearless NSW government ‘responsible’ minister high tailed it over to Europe. Great leadership by example! Abandon ship, everybody for themselves!

    2. He’s just a person. He went on holiday with his family during the holiday season. He flew back. I don’t see anyone complaining about everyone who was ‘devastated’ they couldn’t go on their chrissy holidays or who complained authorities sent them home. It may look like hes not doing enough but I’m sure he’s doing more than we are.

    3. @Kewie Bear You seem to be quoting the lyrics of the musical ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ “He’s just a man…”, who also entertained cricketers at his official residence and watched the cricket match while so many were fighti g for survival. No wonder he was given hostile reception when he finally vetured out to fire zones and had to be protected by his security detail. Nero fiddled while Rome burned indeed.

    4. @Jeffery E Doherty POTUS45 hightails it off to his golf clubs or Mar-A-Lago while PM Scott Morrison prefers cricket and Hawaii. What a pity the victims of their selfish ideologies and policies don’t have the same luxuries.

  7. The place is tinder dry and the trees are filled with volatile eucalyptus oil and we still have to get through the rest of January and February, which is the most dangerous month. It’s going to be a very long and dangerous summer.

  8. There is talk that several of the East Gippsland fires joined up on New Years Eve, and were advancing in the hot and windy conditions on a 90 kilometre front. The fire was making its own weather, with one photo I have seen looking more like a twister from the US than the smoke clouds of a bushfire. Currently there are something like 28 people unaccounted for here in Victoria so expect the death toll to rise.

  9. I live in Victoria Australia. Black Saturday didn’t teach anyone here. Those fires killed dozens. People literally burst into flames trying to escape. Cars hit each other trapping people or stranding them in front of 30 meter walls of fire. Some people tried to hide in water tanks. 10,000 litre tanks and were asphyxiated by the fire as it passed over. Most of the people caught by the fires yesterday are people who went into thoughs areas against advice. For a holiday. Our Prime Minister is an Evangelical. He doesn’t believe in climate change. People are sheep. Sheep are content when well fed and tended. For 40 years science has been clear and tested. What else do people need to be able to believe. God is dead people. Welcome to the stupid future rich people chose for us. Enjoy. Oh, tomorrow is going to be 45 c. We don’t have air conditioning. Landlord doesn’t think its necessary. She’s a Buddhist. Lol

    1. sef man, mate, it’s not _all_ rich people. There are millionaires/billionaires around the world who are actually doing a great deal of unspoken good. For example, one Swedish chap (whose name escapes me) bought up countless tracts of the Amazon, and pays to have it protected from loggers and poachers. Like I said, unspoken good.
Your l’lord sounds like a Buddhist – a philosophy, _not a religion_ – in name only, which is sh*t karma coming to them.
Morrison _is_ a self-serving, hypocritical, belligerent, cowardly p*ick! No doubt about it.
All that said, stay safe and cool, mate.

    2. I can live it. It’s just a future the economically disadvantaged have to look forward to. Or as the middle class say “Yoink”.

  10. Thanks Chris. It’s gutwrenching to see so much around us burn. We’re choking on smoke and bracing for 42° and high winds tomorrow. There’s already more fires than we can fight. Unprecedented evacuations and warm hearts opening homes to those escaping. Keep us in your thoughts.

    1. @Iceberg Rose our sincere apologies for the smoke. You’re so lucky to have such a fantastic leader. Can we borrow her to manage this disaster 😀

    2. @namogel67 gosh don’t apologise! I wish we could do more to help. It rained in NZ last night, hope it comes your way. My son is in Melbourne and I worry. As for your pm, I saw that and it was unfortunate to say the least. Good luck. ❤️

    1. @HarryAnimates naw, thanks for thanking me for thanking them for covering this 😉 You guys haven’t had it easy either…have you been ok?

    2. @car. A yeah, just a lot of smoke, cant even see the buildings some days, hope you guys are all good as well

    1. In addition to your own long white cloud, we gift you our long dirty smokey cloud, courtesy of climate change denialists, coal industry and obsequious governments!

    1. Education is what climate alarmists need. Did you know CO2 is essential for plant life? Yea! Basic biology.

    2. @CRedding94 Oh for christ’s sake stop with the inappropriate use of insufficient information. Too much Co2 in the atmosphere leads to global warming and as more trees are removed the situation is made worse. Then as fires become more frequent and severe even more Co2 is released. The tundra is also thawing and may well release even more green house gasses. As things dry out more even the peat may catch fire and it is virtually impossible to extinguish.

  11. Thanks Chris. The US isn’t the only nation with a Bloated Posturing Male Inadequate floundering at running the place.

    1. @K. McKee I’ve studied a lot lately on USA politics because of Trump and to me it seems their Republicans have no compassion nor empathy it’s not all for one and one for all it’s every man for himself selfishness is ripe.

    2. Esarjay What you speak about is a prime symptom of a sociopathic personality. 30-36% of any population with fit into that diagnostic realm. Does that explain the followers of trump for you ???Sociopathic personalities with always follow sociopathic leadership. BTW, you might want to read a book called “The Sociopath Next Door”. The author’s estimated percentages are based on stats from the 1990’s and statistically the percentage of sociopaths in a given environment has risen since then. But the book is a quick and solid read. I think you’ll love it. It’ll explain exactly what you surmise.

    1. Thank you so much 🙂 And please pray our evil Prime Minister Scot Morrison and his enabling Liberal Party get removed from power. The world needs people who will to spend extreme effort fighting climate change in power in all countries. Not the people spending extreme effort trying to make it worse.

  12. *South American burning forest to plant soy beans*
Mother Nature : “Aight’, I’ll do one better!”
