An Ontario community is reeling after a 23-month-old boy died when he was accidentally left in a hot car outside the school where his mother taught, the mayor says.

Why don’t the daycares ever call to ask about why the children didn’t show up like how a school does
@Karen Acton just take the money, forget the job
@Barbara Matthews: The mother must have been overloaded; she wasn’t thinking is the point.
THIS is an excellent question. And in most of the cases I have read where the child didn’t make it to a daycare, only a few ever followed up with the parents.
Ours does.
They do, if its only one day they won’t really worry so much.
How do you do this?!?! Do you just forget you have a child? My condolences to the family.
How can you forget your child in the car? That is not a small mistake it is a tragedy. Rest in peace little angel.
@cutepoiisonn That’s an excuse for forgetting that you had your child with you? For an ENTIRE DAY?
@Fred Flintstone You should feel ashamed for trying to use the death of a child to try to score political points.
Oh please, stop being so cruel. We live in a harried world. The mother mind racing, the child quietly asleep. It happens, sadly.
Happens a lot. Look it up
Well that poor child paid the ultimate price of his mom’s “small mistake “😢
How in the freaking world do you forget the kid in the car? It’s not like forgetting your keys or a bag. This is insane. For baby.
That poor little boy. This makes me physically ill.
HOW DO YOU FORGET YOUR BABY IN THE CAR??? HOW? FOR HOURS????
I cannot stand a hot car for 5 minutes…i cannot fathom what Everett went through. Poor little fella
Wow! I just can’t comprehend this tragedy
My heart goes out to the family
it’s not a small mistake, its a monumental mistake resulting in a death. It’s not like forgetting your umbrella or shopping bags in the car, it’s a baby!!
It happens a lot. Look it up
This is happening too often! These parents should be charged.
@william greene I heard she took herself out…
@SlimThickaz: “These parents…”? There was only one parent involved. Maybe the grandparents and the uncles should be charged? Maybe the whole town!
@Ray Ray maybe the whole country!
There is absolutely no excuse for this tragedy. The Mother should be held accountable. No one in their right mind forgets their child in their car.
You said it yourself “right mind”! While this is a very sad tragedy, it was also due to human error that happen all all the time.
Perhaps she wasn’t in the right mind, her father did say she experienced something stressful the night before.
small mistake who the hell says that….this child died thru negligence
I feel like the mom is being overly protected because of the family’s affiliation with the mayor. This looks very fishy.
Horrible for everyone involved. It’s odd to forget a baby for hours though.
This is so heartbreaking. A tragedy for the entire family.
I know all about the foggy brain that mothers of young children frequently experience. I used to commonly forget my phone, house keys, wallet and especially PIN codes. But never my children.
Prayers
Prayers for the family don’t judge
I can’t imagine where the child is that she didn’t see in the car? He is still in a car seat. How can you forget your child that is with you? Sorry but this is suspicious to me. May his soul rest in peace.
Praying for the family!
I’m a father I have a 2.5 year old son and a year old. I’m glad my wife and I can work together a lot. Parenting is a hard job and is undermine a lot. I’m used to lots of physical labour but parenting is pretty stressful.
Prayers to Ems Family and his mother who will never forgive herself!! I hope she find forgiveness. He’s in God’s hands now
