The United States is responding to a request for the release of monkeypox vaccine from the nation's Strategic National Stockpile as a global outbreak of cases is under investigation. There is one confirmed case of monkeypox and four suspected cases in the United States, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. #CNN #News
The disease outbreak in EU is associated with a gay festival in Spain, so what’s the problem in warning the gay community? If you’re gay and think the warning is more harmful than the disease, feel free to get skin rashes, there’s no need to complain on Twitter.
We knew it’s finally here

All in people who had covid vaccine.
What the hell does “potential case” mean?? I mean exactly how long does it take to diagnose pox?
They don’t have specific tests for it in the US, we hadn’t had it here before outside of one or two isolated cases. So they have to swab and grow cultures, which can take a day or two, and remember most CDC reporting is days or even a week old because it takes them a bit to confirm their numbers.
@Scott Dorsey hahaha almost like companies trying to pander to guys on pride month with their rainbow logos. Only to revert to their original ones once the month passes
@rookerycephapirin Covid-19 incubation period is 2 to 6 days, with most between 3 and 5 days.
Monkeypox incubation period is 5 -21 days, mostly 7 -14.
NOT THE SAME!
LONDON — A leading adviser to the World Health Organization described the unprecedented outbreak of the rare disease monkeypox in developed countries as “a random event” that might be explained by sexual or close, physical contact at two recent mass events in Europe.
In an interview with The Associated Press, Dr. David Heymann, who formerly headed WHO’s emergencies department, said the leading theory to explain the spread of the disease was sexual transmission among gay and bisexual men at two raves held in Spain and Belgium. Monkeypox has not previously triggered widespread outbreaks beyond Africa, where it is endemic in animals.
@Ronald Sippel It is known by everyone of the high promiscuity of men, especially gay and bisexual men.
Two days ago: we’re fine nothing to worry about
Today: my bad time to worry
@john smith
Not me brother….this ain’t rocket science!
Exactly! Long story short everyone mask up & stay inside until august
Ahhh ,.. the clash of two conflicting narratives. And revolting too.
Since she’s a pediatrician, it would have been helpful to mention that monkey pox can be serious for young children, instead of focusing on the gay thing.
@Daryl Bowser Close contact and exchange of bodily fluids, not using condoms and promiscuity. In other words, men.
@W. B. Black Exactly. How did small children got in the mix.
GIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST TODAY ✝️🛐👍👌
@W. B. Black No, it *can* be contracted from sex. It can also be contracted by touching the pustule, or any of the fluid from the pustule. Poxvirus is quite hardy, so also can be contracted from fomites. (Yes, you can get it from a toilet seat. But, that is rare.)
@Jewel Screaming Chango8387 No, sorry. But HIV is spread through blood to blood contact. All you need to transmit poxvirus is physical contact, it can be sexual or nonsexual, with a pustule or its fluid. This current outbreak may be mostly in gay people, but plenty of previous outbreaks were not.
Exchanging bodily fluids or prolonged closeness is how people are getting this thing. Time to get back to maintaining a safe distance from others.
Cool, we’ll let you know when it’s safe to come out 🙄
Also avoid being near others.
We’ve been getting the Monkeypox in Oakland for 40 years! I’m not sure why they’re making a big deal now.
What?
Lock you down
The Monkeypox was first discovered in 1958 in a colony of monkeys at a research facility in Denmark. Who knows how it go to the US…
It’s not rocket science..
Nigeria has had cases almost every year for some time. Until now, most people who have contracted monkeypox have been to Nigeria or have had contact with people who have been in Nigeria.
@Undomiel-2020 they have detected people having it without being travelling
@L Notice the last part of my comment, ‘have had contact with people who have been to Nigeria’.
There are also reports of two gay festivals, one in Spain one in Belgium, with some of the European cases being traced to both of these festivals.
Any confirmation of the recent report that the spreader event occurred at a spa in Spain during an annual sex party?
Welp, as a perennial nerdy introvert, I am 100% immune to monkeypox and have a full set of antibodies 😁
If you were vaccinated against smallpox, you are immune to monkeypox as well.
It’s the new gay fad.
@Deborah Freedman Vaccination from smallpox vaccine is only around 85% effective against monkeypox last I checked. Still pretty good, but given that the vaccines in strategic storage supplies have also aged(we don’t have full data on stored-aged efficacy yet) they may be less effective until we get another round of production – assuming we need that much, though.
Also a new vaccine that was developed for people who are immunocompromised in… 2019 IIRC, as I think the current monkeypox-specific vaccine can be dangerous for them. Would be nice to see that go into production assuming this outbreak continues to spread.
Welp!!
The geographical case distribution is alarmingly similar although not identical to that of the early HIV/AIDS epidemic.
@danny Torrance Thank the designers!
@danny Torrance More to do with the high population of gay men in certain regions.
Blood exchange. Think about it
Sounds like the days of HIV

We should investigate into whether or not the vaxxed people are catching it the quickest.
@Jon Collins being vaccinated or unvaccinated has nothing to do with the monkeypox affecting you or me. It can happy to anyone, fast or not fast.
The bigger question is why are the cases so spread out across the US and where is the origin of transmission for each case.
It’s from all the new people coming in from other countries close the boarders !
Who gives a crap? Monkey Pox is harmless
Yes, that’s how Covid started with a few cases and low risk and then it went to millions of cases and high risk. We just can’t seem to catch a break. I feel like this is a sign that the end is near.
Stop being so naive and scared of everything.
Or another lie.
The reports WERE one, then two confirmed and one suspected in Florida, then it was confirmed in Florida..

Joe ‘where’s my other shoe’ Biden
Or another lie scripted.
Imagine millions covered in blood red blisters. The end of vanity
Hopefully, my smallpox vaccination many years ago can help or stop it. I got it in the late 1960’s as a kid.
85% protection and much less likely to die if you do get sick anyway.
I remember back then when WHO released an statement that covid is not an airborne disease and there’s no need to be scared/worried
Believing WHO again will be a rock hard
So everyone please be extra precious avoid going to crowded places and always bring your own utensils or water tumblers YOUR NOT ONLY SAVING YOURSELF BUT EVERYONE IN THE COMMUNITY
