MIAMI, Florida (CNN)  — It’s a nightmarish scenario straight out of the movies: A passenger is forced to land a plane after its pilot becomes incapacitated.

“Descend and maintain 5,000. Just take your time, we’ll set you up for the airport,” an air traffic controller says.

In a calm voice, a passenger responds: “I need to get my throttle set for this descent. I don’t know where to set it at.”

The reality was playing aboard a plane over Florida on Sunday in what the National Air Traffic Controllers Association called “an Easter miracle.”

WASHINGTON, D.C., Tues. April 14, 2009: U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, is set to visit three Caribbean nations later this week.

The State Department on Monday said Clinton will travel to Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Trinidad and Tobago between April 16th-19th.

NEW YORK, NY, Tues. April 7, 2009: Two nationals from the Caribbean were among 13 innocent victims shot down by a crazed gunman in Binghamton, NY, police there say.

The two were Haitian couple, Marc Henry Bernard, 44, and Maria Sonia Bernard, 46. Both were at the American Civic Center to learn English and lived in Endicott, NY. They moved to the Endicott Terrace apartment building only about a year ago.

Maria Sonia reportedly worked at a McDonald’s on East Main Street in Endicott. Her husband, Marc Henry Bernard, 44, had just been hired at the same restaurant after losing his job at a local manufacturing company recently.

LONDON – President Barack Obama has arrived at Buckingham Palace for a private meeting with Queen Elizabeth II. Several thousand well-wishers crowded the traffic circle in front of the gated palace on Wednesday to cheer and wave as the limousine carrying Obama and first lady Michelle Obama rolled past.

On the eve of a global economic summit, Obama promised world leaders he would listen, not lecture, as they seek a common fix to the financial crisis. “We can only meet this challenge together,” he said Wednesday as the U.S. and Russia spoke on the summit sidelines about nuclear warhead reduction.

BUTTE, Mont. – A small plane — possibly carrying children on a ski trip — crashed Sunday as it approached the Butte airport, killing 14 to 17 people aboard, a federal official said. The single engine turboprop nose-dived into a cemetery 500 feet from its destination.

The aircraft crashed and burned while attempting to land, said Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Mike Fergus. The plane crashed in Holy Cross Cemetery.

An investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board offered few details at a press conference in Butte Sunday night. No cause of the crash was given.

“We are just beginning our investigation,” said Kristi Dunks. “We don’t have a lot of information at this time.

“Certain family members were contacted,” she said. “At this point, I don’t have an exact number.”

The United Progressive Party (UPP) was well on its way to being returned to power for a consecutive term following a controversial general elections in Antigua and Barbuda yesterday.

At the time of going to press, very early this morning, some seven seats were already declared, five of them clearly in the bag for the UPP.

St. John’s City East candidate Harold Lovell scored an easy victory by scoring 826 votes to Ron Maginley’s 645. St. Mary’s South candidate Hilson Baptiste, 1056 votes, won handsomely over Samantha Marshall who scored 737 votes. The Organisation of National Development Candidate Glentis Goodwin got 12 votes.
