It wasn’t the wrong currency, if it was chip and pin then possibly a sus POS terminal, they can be tampered with quite easily. This is why pin pads and machines typically have a physical security seal that makes them tamper evident, no one ever checks this? How often do you flip a pin pad over to see if the tamper seal is over one of the the screws?
I agree, maybe it was a mistake. I think that is the taxi service cost 4k DOP not CAD.
