Can you also clarify how much more this policy from this gov will increase inflation and Canada central bank interest hike while Canadians are in verge of a recession?
It won’t, because the money has already been released. Your problem is with the budget, not what the money is spent on
@Grand Central Operating costs will be subject to inflation, and they are at least double the purchase price in total.
By the time we aquire them all they will be on the way to becoming obsolete, yeah it will take another 10 years from that point but still, why are we hopping on the train 7 years too late
Why? Thank Trudeau that’s why. The clown was against buying them when he was running against Harper. Even bought Australia’s old F18’s so we didn’t buy the F35.
Politics, dear boy, politics.
Seemly seems to be the big word. The reason that we need more than 67 fighter jets is that 67 is the require number for NORAD, Harper revised things a little. Taking the number for NORAD which was the same as when that is what we had of the Voodoos prior to the CF 18s. He calculated that we would not need the required number for NATO and therefore borrow aircraft from the NORAD number and use them for the NATO number. Sort of rob Peter to pay Paul. You could never have a conflict where it would involve NORAD and NAYO at the same time, right. Also you have to take in the account of how many of the aircraft would be required for training purposes and these aircraft could never be used for the NATO or NORAD numbers as they would not be equip for operations. Now you have to take into account of the availability number. That is the number available to engage into operational duties. The las number I heard of was an availability rate of 71%, it is possible it has changed a little, but I doubt it has change very much. A rate of 71% availability rate of 71% means, out of 100 aircraft you may have, only 71 would be available for operations due to maintenance, or just broken. Now a number of countries have ordered a certain number of these aircraft for their Air Forces and then bought different aircraft to bring the numbers up to standard. Canada has not done this and their for all of our eggs are in one basket. I would also suggest your network practices a little more due diligence before reporting. Many of your customers might get the wrong impression listening to your reporting.
Don’t forget to factor in the number we’re going to lose to training accidents etc..
Broke a pledge ..what was that, to be defenseless?!
Such an expensive plane for a crippling country xd What are they supposed to defend anyways? Suburbs with Tim Horton’s, Dollarama, and Walmart?
To protect our claim in the arctic and northwest passage, which has tens of trillions of dollars in natural resources alone.
waits on economy collapse before buying the jets when he had since 2015 to do it.. ok.
by the time we got all 88 F35 it will turn obsoleted better spend some of that money for new submarine
We need twice as many to protect climate change.
Awesome, new jets for the Snowbirds!!
What a strange post.
Did we pass them the money in a paper bag? This was nothing but a shakedown.
JT was just waiting for the appropriate kick-backs before proceeding with this deal I guess…
Nah, Mulroney isn’t involved in the deal.
@fumblerooskie He’s corrupt too, so what?
Found the Qtard.
@fumblerooskie How much did the Trudeau foundation grow by since he came into office? yeah a real winner
I doubt it had anything to do with performance because if that was a concern 7 years ago that would have been said. He says what suits his current objective and is just an opportunist. Now NATO says, “Hey, you should have had these already.”
It’s so we can give them to Ukraine upon delivery
we must continue to be loyal to our master or we cease to exist.
The reason that we need a minimum of 88 CF-35s is that the Americans are growing tired of carrying Canada’s water. (in defence) What sovereign nation doesn’t look to its own defence? Prime Minister Fluff’s 2015 stance was purely political posturing (it’s all he does); we were ALWAYS going to buy the ONLY 5th-generation fighter on the market. We cannot afford not to.
Those jets technically are useless
Instead of spending this huge amount of money on jets that only go up in price before the are actually delivered, and will put a pilots life in danger not to mention very expensive maintenance,, WHY are we not buying a fleet of DRONES instead ????
Assuming Trudeau ordered the F-35 in electric version.
Raise and create new carbon taxes then buy expensive jets you swore you would never buy. Coherent and consistent behaviour from this government.
It will not be 19 billion , multiply by 1.5-2 times, this is how the projects end .
