Wow, that’s crazy. These scammers are pathetic
This happened to me too, i lost 200$ visa gift card that i recieved for my wedding.
Lol someone gave you an empty card
The scammers are getting worse and worse as technology gets better. It really makes me worry as AI and Robotics improve and become more powerful and sophisticated…there will be the scammers, criminals and gangs using this technology for nefarious purposes.
Level of security offered by a barcode – Zero. The 1980s mag-strip technology was more secure.
There’s a lot of gift card scams.
Scammers put their cards at the front. Always take your gift card from the middle of the stack. Check to see if the scratchable part of the gift card looks crooked or wonky.
Very scary. I bought $5000 Airbnb gift cards last year when there was a 15000 point promotion per $100. And routinely buy a $1000 in uber gift cards when they are on sale at any loblaws store. I would complain to shoppers about this fraud. Unfortunate for this lady. But it can happen to anyone.
Not news.
Not to the clueless it’s not
Give this woman her money back😤. Our world is filled to the brim with lousy scammers. That’s the price of digital this and digital that. Use cash!
Well that’s culturally enriching.
Same thing happened to me.
