Did he express sadness when body bags were coming home because he lied?
@watchin’ it While the blame is going around we are the once being sent there to fight. 17 years and still in the service. I am glad we are all coming home. We give the Afghans everything they needed to fight and in the end they ran. I would fight for America even w/o pay if she was under threat. That is the difference between an American service member and the Afghans.
@Ulrich Von Lichtenstein , I get your point. But it seems that you’re viewing the series of events from strictly an American perspective. That is what has lead to such a catastrophic 20-year mishandling in Afghanistan. There does not appear to ever have been a good comprehension of the dynamics that were in play in Afghanistan. Many (if not most) Afghans can have a very tribal mentality. That’s their culture. The US tried to eliminate terrorist threats by trying to convert Afghans into people that dress differently, but to have American mentality. Even several European countries’ people don’t think like Americans. It comes down to operating within the parameters of what “can work”, without getting bogged down only with what someone “wants to work”. Huge difference. Wasted opportunities is what was done, the fruits of which we are now witnessing. (edit: corrected typo)
@ruth depew Huh?! Those were US Veterans, young virile men you are dismissing, too bad it was you or your kin.
@watchin’ it : Obama had little choice, Moscow Mitch was livid that a Black Man occupied the House and was out to sabotage everything he did, go review your history. That “red-line” that was all on Moscow seditious Mitch.
@Guy North , I get your point, but you can’t allow anyone to have complete control over you and/or your decisions. Mitch can run interference, but only to a degree. The rest is on Obama. Bush #2 didn’t bother to track down Bin Laden’s partner-in-crime, that being Ayman al-Zawahiri. Obama made the same mistake by not bothering about it either. Again, enough “lack of attention to details” to go all around.
They knew this was inevitable… from the start…. Our leaders fail, then they fail, then they fail again…
@Kevin Santich Exactly ,Forget politics, as you’ve come to see it, as a contest between Democrats and Republicans. Today the struggle is democracy versus oligarchy.Hope you staying safe ?
@Yvonne Braun100% agree, Yvonne. Keep up the fight, sister. Much love and solidarity ✊
@Zachary Fluke Thank you .Hope you staying safe ?
@Yvonne Braun Doing my very best out here in Florida.
@Zachary Fluke That’s good .Im also in Pennsylvania.HOpe we can talk more sometime ?
I think Jamil Jaffer is “outrageous and inaccurate”!!!
If he accepted the then Taliban offer to hand over Bin Laden to a neutral country, no war, $2 trillion dollars of taxpayers money saved, thousands of American lives saved and tens of thousands of Afgani lives saved. Bush is the definition of a war criminal!
The US public at the time would *NEVER* have accepted a deal after 9/11. They wanted blood. There was a frenzy that’s now been forgotten.
He put us there and then blame someone else. We should not have been there in the first place. I’m happy soldiers are out and coming home.
@Ms C preach sis!!!! Bush started this mess…remember how he gave those private contracts to Halliburton? In Iraq and Kuwait…Desert Storm. SMH🤦🏽♀️
What about the tens of thousands of Americans left behind?? This is his fault
so yep we should not have been there
I wonder which Military contractors are lining his pockets?
All of them, which are Georgie’s friends.
now the plan for minerals and military spending overload is in jepordy. how will the arms dealers keep going. too bad there is no holding the afgan government for any responsibility
The Afghanistan Government doesn’t exist, it never really did, It was only a paper moon, hanging over a cardboard desert, it was all make believe, as it folded within hours of us leaving.
Why are we blaming the USA for all of this. If the taliban is a world threat then this should be every country involved in the United Nations fault! America has been fighting this war for to long. Our troops should’ve came home a long time ago
Didn’t they UN call the invasion illegal years ago?
I’m surprised he can remember his own Presidency. I wish I could forget it!

@Jack Loftus Chairs Maloney and Raskin Launch Investigation into Privately Run ‘Audit’ of Arizona 2020 Election Results. The Arizona audit will wind up in front of congress.
“Partisan audits funded by dark money groups undermine Americans’ confidence in elections,” Maloney said in a statement sent on Wednesday, referring to the handful of Trump-linked 501(c)(3) entities that have poured more than $5.7 million into the audit effort. “Cyber Ninjas must provide complete transparency over its questionable activities and sources of funding, and answer Congress’s questions without further delay. If it does not, we will use all tools available to ensure we get the answers we need to protect the integrity of federal elections.”
@victorianmelody46 the wheels are coming off the Biden Train
@Gary Katzenmaier that’s Hunter Biden with hookers and Russian drug dealers
The Bush apologists really should have kept silent, enforcing the hypocritical realities of his entire administration. People have not forgotten the war mongering Bush and his drive to continue his war to Iraq. History will not change these horrors, and the culpabilities remain intact.
@John woodworth Exactly,Forget politics, as you’ve come to see it, as a contest between Democrats and Republicans. Today the struggle is democracy versus oligarchy.Hope you staying safe ?
Until the Afghanistan government separates church and state and renounce violence, the civil war will continue. There are so many different denominations of Islam that interpret the Koran in radically different ways that they fight over who’s version is right version and always results in violence. You can’t govern by forced religion.
Just think, Georgie had Bin Laden in his eye sight December 2001 BUT, he said no to the troops in taking him down. BUSH…this is ALL on you!!!!!
He sent some of them to Iraq. Dropped the ball indeed.
Bush, another privileged draft-dodger, put mostly young soldiers lives at risk
Controversy over George W. Bush’s military service in the Air National Guard was an issue that first gained widespread public attention during the 2004 presidential campaign. The controversy centered on Texas Air National Guard, why he lost his flight status, and whether he fulfilled the requirements of his military service contract.

Former President Bush did not dodge the draft! He served. You are a buffoon who doesn’t know the history of what you were talking about!
Afghanistan was the war Bush got while he waited for the war he wanted with Iraq.
Biden left 10,000 Americans behind and supplied terrorist with weapons
Bush should do jail time for getting us involved in Afghanistan the way he did.
“There is no instance of a nation benefitting from prolonged warfare.” Sun Tzu
A nation, no. Politicians, yes
Orwell’s “Endless War”
It is how nations are created and destroyed
This talker should go to Afghanistan to help himself!
The talker should be deported as a war criminal…
The Day Pompeo Reached Agreement With The Taliban
Is The Day Civilian Evacs Should Have Started.
Yes and there absolutely is not a single solitary player in DC or G7 who was not aware of that and who did not very consciously choose to stand down.
Staying another 20 years or leaving is a false choice. Leave now, but is an orderly withdrawal too much to ask?
Afghanistan didn’t fall to the Taliban. It was given to them on a silver platter by those Afghans in power
