    1. @Timothy Kozlowski LOL, so now you are adjusting your figure from 1.4% to 1.3%? Well, I’ll meet you halfway between your original claim and mine. It was 4.7%, making the drop 1.2%:

I feel for the kids that have to forgo furthering their education to help their folks keep a roof over their heads.

    1. “Today in the “rich people, poor folks” news…. The rich made an extra $500,000 to $2,400,000 this month…. The poor & working poor made an extra $0.25 to $0.35 this month which helped take millions off food stamps…. There will be no more poverty by the year 2021….”

    2. Justin Figgins upward mobility is a choice. Do poor people more often vote democrat or republican? Maybe poverty is a social illness… With whom do you socialize?

    1. Over the past 20 years, we’ve been teaching our kids less and less in school. They are not as analytical or logical as prior generations, and Millennials struggle to fill skilled workers jobs. We’ve raised a generation of dummies and we wonder why we lack skilled workers? Its not Trump’s fault, its started with Bush 43 in 2003 with the No Child Left Behind Act. This was passed to increase test scores for schools by making the test questions easier to answer rather than increasing education funds. We spent less on our kids educations and now we wonder why they are less capable than previous generations? It makes more sense that this happened over 20 years, not three. Its not Trump’s fault our kids are stupid!! But Stupid Americans also love vanity, fame, and popularity over dignity, integrity, and self-respect; so social morality in America has slipped alot, as well.

    1. Tidbit you mean after all our manufacturing jobs left the country and everyone went to work at McDonald’s or for the first time in our nation’s history that our credit rating fell (twice) or that the national debt doubled or that mean wages actually dropped during his eight years, also first in our history. You mean that guy. You are nuts.

    2. @k Gio Obama saved the world from economic ruin; Trump kicked 20 million Americans off health insurance. Case closed!

  1. Are wages up? Healthcare reform? Careful, they can use that with their base to justify cutting even more benefits that people need because of low wages and higher costs. 🧘☀️😶

    1. “Today in the “rich people, poor folks” news…. The rich made an extra $500,000 to $2,400,000 this month…. The poor & working poor made an extra $0.25 to $0.35 this month which helped take millions off food stamps…. There will be no more poverty by the year 2021….”

  2. Jobs Creation is such a cheap metric. It’s utterly, utterly meaningless unless you quantify the data. How many of those jobs are full or part time? Seasonal, or permanent? Zero hours contract, or guaranteed work? A set salary, or commission-dependant? I could continue.

    1. There’s also the issue of how the Trump administration inflates those numbers, which was demonstrated by the other part of the news report stating that prior job numbers all got reduced.

    1. @Democracy Now Somebody should make the meme for that – bottle of Formula 409 in one hand and a rake in the other.

    2. @k Gio That’s the second time I have seen “lal” today, and I have no idea what it means. Can’t keep up with you youngsters!

    3. @Constituent A haha! Well , at 48… i ll take the youngster label anytime! Lal is from a friend of mine , who like me… gets all these new fangled terms and words wrong. He thought “lol” meant , laugh-a-lot. So i now use lal instead of lol. Dumb silly useless story i just wasted your time on. I ll buy a corona for myself but will say you did . Have a nice weekend

  3. Because after natural disasters if buildings where jobs have been are distroyed means people have to find new jobs and new places to live

  4. So…. Wage increase didn’t include my family.
    Food and fuel cost up.
I’ve seen no benefits from this economy.

  5. Just like trump I don’t believe these statistics. The stock market is rigged for the rich. I look at the deficit. This is disturbing!!!

  6. Wages are up 2.9% year over year, but the important thing, again, about the wage increases is where they are happening. They are happening at the lower end of the pay or wage scale.

  7. Great news. The Dow Jones hit 29,000 for the first time in history. Everyones’ 401(k) retirement account must be doing great!

  8. None of these stats means a darn thing if the available jobs don’t provide a living wage. And they don’t.
