Andre Hill was approaching a Columbus police officer with his phone in hand when he was fatally shot.

Representation of minorities in the entertainment industry, or rather a Hollywood that reflects America, has been a long overdue goal and oft discussed issue. Have we reached a tipping point? We talk to the producer of the hit Netflix show, "Selena: The Series."

Hill was apparently recording the interaction with his cell phone. QUESTION: Where is that video?
@D he never finished recording
@INSECT BITE *-* doesn’t matter
You know what they did to it!
@D
How does that not matter? I know you are probably a trumpist but please use a tad bit of logic and reasoning.
Don’t need it…it’s pretty clear from the recovered body camera footage that the cop is a murderer.
All that is necessary is to abolish qualified immunity and require cops to conform to the law controlling their own conduct. But courts won’t do that and legislatures are too stupid to understand that law does control cops too.
THANK U…I REALLY DO believe that a lot of these people that were shot and killed by the kkkops would be alive if the POLICE the OFFICERS that are involved in the shooting, killing or the abusive behavior HAD to PAY out of THEIR OWN POCKETS NOT TAXPAYER MONEY from the TOWN/CITY they work in DOESN’T have to PAY but that those OFFICERS HAVE TO PAY out of their OWN POCKETS I guarantee you they WOULD figure out a way to DEESCALATE a situation where people don’t get killed for just simply calling the police for non-emergencies, for emergencies, for a mental health issues, for traffic stops, so-called suspicious behavior for sitting in a park, for sitting in a car, for standing on a corner, for jogging, for going into or out of a store..and so on…
if someone HAD TO PAY PERSONALLY out of their pocket EVERY SINGLE TIME that they KILLED, ABUSED or HARMED someone… BET MONEY the person holding a gun {the KKKOP} WOULD THINK TWICE about whether or not they can talk themselves out of whatever the situation is or SHOOT their way out of the situation…START USING UR BRAIN 🧠 BEFORE USING YOUR 🔫
The immunity should be revised but not abolished. The police need to make life or death decisions in seconds, but the trigger happy officers do need to be prosecuted.
More training, higher salaries and less media demonization. We need to get minorities into the police force to help force out the corruption…and hope they too don’t abuse the power.
Or we can leave the gangs and the individuals with the biggest guns to rule each neighborhood.
@PKizZY Obviously You are not even American because You Struggled to type Your Dumb Rant!
@# 2 It never existed at common law and is a judicial invention of the Supreme Court in the late ’60’s. Law enforcement officers, who used to be called peace officers, have no privilege to breach the peace or commit unjustified acts of violence and are liable as anyone for such torts. That is called equal protection of the law. Cops now just are another gang. Read John Whitehead’s A GOVERNMENT OF WOLVES: THE EMERGING AMERICAN POLICE STATE. I don’t trust cops any more than I do Dumocrats, Repugnants, BLM, of Antifa — all part of the problem and all the enemies of the Rule of Law.
no…because then cops would be getting life sentences for protecting people. gotta recognize that cops dont just shoot people because they feel like it, there are reasons and if you went to the police reports instead of a bias news networks that says Breonna Taylor was a “racially motivated shooting”, then youd understand why officers need to shoot much of the time when handling dangerous criminals. and they are dangerous criminals because of the way they act, NOT THEIR SKIN COLOR
What law & order ?
And people say not to defund the police.
Well, in my small city, 2 police chiefs were criminals who got a “cushy” let go package as they left.
The last sheriff provided drugs & alcohol to minors then had sex with them.
He is now a state trooper.
And these are the guys you want us to listen to ?
Yeah, get bent !
✌N ❤
@Frankly Speaking age of ignorance. But thank you anyway.
@Frankly Speaking and i try too.
Yeah okay sure he is
One of my friends former teachers got charged and found guilty of the same crimes. Does that mean we defund the education system?
@Frankly Speaking Most true natives understand this so clearly. Keep spreading the truth brother ❤️✌🏼
This is kinda funny how after 2 days they get this released but still waiting on the camera footage from the boy in Columbus over a month ago.
They have it they’re just waiting to release that one for a different even they’re planning.
I wonder if maybe different states have different policies and different laws put in place by citizens of those states? Nah, that couldn’t be it.
@Reach41 ok your right there are different laws for different states but if your paying attention. These are all in the same state
And when do citizens make laws we some times vote on manipulated laws that are practically take it or leave it but never make laws.
@Sweater Vest Fest that’s what Christmas is really supposed to be. That orgying and sacrifices. So not too far off
Why was this man still a law enforcement officer? 89 complaint against this man. He will just retire and get his pension. Just like the cop that killed Casey Goodson that was buried yesterday had a lot of complaints against him. Both of them should have been fired long time ago. And there are more that SHOULD NOT BE COPS.
body cam should be on not turned on
They need the old time religion beat down
Shouldn’t “failure to turn on body camera” be a reason for automatic termination *at least*? No?
“Jim, we put those body cams on you for a reason, you need to turn it on.”
“How about if I don’t?”
“Ok that’s fine too.”
Those cameras shouldn’t be able to be turned off at all.
“ok, here’s cameras so we can watch you guys during your shift for transparency. Also, the onoff switch is right here….”
@K-oz Dragon The Government should be allowed to watch us ALL too, you know, since we all gotta treat each other equally n what not.
Shouldn’t be an option. Should automatically be on every call. There’s no other logical way to explain a cop having control over his camera. Otherwise, what’s the point?
@Christy Taylor What does the government watching citizens have to do with police? Just a firm believer that those armed with weapons, granted with extrajudicial powers, & able to inflict violence upon normal citizens should probably have some sort of oversight.
If only we could see what they do during their day – like a magic crystal ball…. 🤔
@K-oz Dragon I believe it should be. What if officers are trying to talk about their corrupt chief or sergeant, etc. That would make it even harder for corruption to be stopped
We need a Federal Bureau of Police Oversight, whose sole task is to monitor troubled police departments and cops throughout the country. They’ll provide training and guidance to those departments who just can’t seem to get it right, as well as, actively investigate and prosecute officers who violate the law and rights of others.
I agree. It’s lack of training also. The military in times of war has stricter rules of engagement than our own civilian police departments. I’ve been teaching mixed martial arts for the last 20 yrs and officers continue to tell us that most department issues is lack of martial training and when there’s a lack of martial training there’s a lack of confidence in physical ability that then creates a dependency on an officers side arm.
Well technically that is partly what the FBI was supposed to do, but now it is more corrupt than rotten fruit.
We need to stop reacting these garbage “news” organization’s framed story with a 5 second clip and narration without any actual empirical evidence or facts. They pull the strings of their puppets and make them dance.
Brian Ritchie this is always the excuse and it never pans out. First, it’s the officers fault he didn’t turn it on. Second, what exactly could change in the video to have made it OK to shoot him? Maybe if he said “Officer I have a bomb planted somewhere, that’s my only weapon. If you don’t shoot me immediately I will press this button on my phone and detonate it”?
We need to abolish policing…we have plenty of law enforcement…but policing is not “law enforcement”, it is policing, and the practice of policing a population is antithetical to the ideals of freedom…the sooner folks stop equating the two practices, the sooner we can actually be a free country…because right now, we are an authoritarian police state…don’t believe me, next time you encounter the police and you’ve done absolutely nothing wrong, don’t blindly and obediently submit to their authority and see what happens…remember, we are supposed to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Wow if that officer shouldve been looked at a LONG time ago
Stay away from cops. Never approach one. Never give money to support them. Always become an instant robot around them.
What a disgrace. Why was he still wearing a badge?
The world has become a bad place with good memories trapped inside
In this century of crisis, you can pretend that nothing has happened and then celebrate “your Christmas”, then the American people will be able to spend“ the Spring Festival” with the Chinese next year!
Come out. We’re going to celebrate Christmas in a special way !!!!
Police always ask you to come out and that is exactly what this guy did. The officer approached him from an angle that he intentionally put himself in. A few steps to the right and he could see what the other hand was doing. This was a shooting of the officer’s own creation. Then to sit back while the guy was moaning on the ground and do nothing. Turn on the damn cameras and leave them on. It’s for both our and your protection. Not f’n rocket science. So much for a non-emergency call.
This officer has had over 2 dozen complaints since 2002 but was not fired. If it was only a bad apple problem why are these bad apples never fired until someone is murdered!!
We all need to realize that there is and will always be bad, evil and corrupted cops. We will continue to have cops murdering citizens because the law protects them and NOT us!…
The cop is in control of when the camera turns on?!? That obviously defeats the damn purpose.
TRAINING TELLS THEM TO FEAR THE SITUATION. SHOCK AND AWE TRAINING ESCALATES TO FEAR. THEN BOOM BOOM
A few seconds of audio at the end? What kind of a low-budget show is this??
The ONLY unanswered question is why do we have a situation where an unarmed guy who was minding his own business was SHOT AND KILLED and the murderer is NOT IN JAIL?!
