  1. “Did you ever hear about the rock and roll singers,
    Got three or four Cadillacs
    .
Saying power to the people, dance to the music,
Wants you to pat him on the back.” – Van Morrison

    1. @Pamela Wherey started in folk, moved into rock and roll and many other genres. Anyway, that’s beside the point.

    1. the music industry is dead. We can’t even make good & original xmas songs. Xmas songs are the easiest types of songs to make. When you only hear really horrible covers of classic xmas songs, that should be a sign that the music industry is completely dead.

    2. ? Every time you stream a song they get paid now. Music industry is exploding and has been for a while now. Everyone involved is making extreme amounts of money. The only ones suffering now are the venues. Artists etc meanwhile are seeing record cash flow.

  2. I don’t get why folks are so het up, he is taking his retirement bonus . Bowie did the same thing 20 something years ago and nobody said boo . Go Bob , a lifetime of hard work and genius .

    1. @VuDuVampirNinjaWitch I think we can all agree on that(well, not the leaches) so let’s focus a little more on what else we might. Just a thought.

    1. Why pay it? He already went in 60 minutes and told the world he “sold his soul to the ruler of this world”. He then went on to clarify…it was the devil.

  3. It’s only a matter of time, now, until we hear “Lay Lady Lay” in commercials for Serta mattresses and “Blowin’ In the Wind” in Gas-X commercials…

    1. 😥 Anything of the sort will lead me to the competition. I know I’ll have little to no effect but we already live in such a superficial world I can at least keep the commercial world separate from my love of BD in my own small ways.
Can’t say that I’d ever view a movie about either the Dead or Dylan, if created, for different reasons. Just my uninformed 00.02. 1st I’ve seen of this. That said, there’s absolutely nothing that man could do that would make me think him the slightest of sellouts. He’s earned the right to do whatever. Thx Bobby! ✌🏼🤙🏽

  4. Probably looking to make sure his family is taken care of after he’s gone. I don’t get what’s wrong with this. Cash in, invest, and your family will never see another hard day again.

    1. Corporate control is the problem with it. Society is continually selling itself out to corporate entities which gives them way too much power and control over our lives. All small steps in the wrong direction matter. If Bob Dylan doesn’t have enough money to setup his family prior to selling his publishing rights then there is a way bigger issue at play. There is no evidence to suggest that’s why he made the sale though.

  5. It is better that he does it, than his estate!
Bob Dylan: Monies Tight, Times Are Hard, Here’s Your Frickin’ Christmas Card!

  6. Sounds like Bob may be getting his affairs in order. Hopefully he’s just afraid of the virus and not in poor health.

  7. I remember when Michael Jackson out-bid Paul McCartney for the publishing rights to the Beatles catalog for 47m. Paul didn’t like that.
