  1. Yeah our election system doesn’t work. Not as badly handled as the USA’s but we need to get a better grasp on this.

    1. I am in between. Although I don’t think a monarchy or a monarchic representative does something especially objective, like somehow the universe wishes a king, queen or the governor general representing them, it seems like constitutional monarchies are moderately effective governments and that requires this figurehead as the symbol of government. But then to what end? The GG is not as forward facing or relevant to the lives of Canadians as the British monarchy is in England or the Norwegian one in Norway. Maybe we should found our own monarchy?

  2. I also agree that that this institution should be gone. Lets get our heads out of the past and start saving over burden Canadians some money.

  3. For once i agree with blanchet, its a purely symbolic position, and i think quebec should seperate as they are just a burden on canada and contribute nothing to confederation, and they are the most heavily subsidized province in canada.

    1. @Justin Merpaw Cyr is a French decendant. May be an acadian descendant (see Le Grand Dérangement 1755). The worst Québec Basher are descendants of French-Canadian who lost the language, the culture. Don’t ask me why, I don’t know. Full denial.
FYI, Canada was just a part of New-France. Mainly Montréal, Trois-Rivières, Québec City (St-Lawrence Valley). The name “Les Canadiens de Montréal” is related of the inhabitans of Canada (New-France) in the region of Montréal. Nothing to do with Justin’s postnational country.

    2. @Ted Poplawski and Canada let a bunch of poor eastern Europeans fill up western Canada and they’ve been grateful ever since.

    1. Did your mom ever tell you not to scratch your ***. Now you have poop under your fingernails and you post on YT without washing your hands… Eew!

  4. Sad that that if it is abolished Payette will have been what killed it and the last GG. What a disgrace.

  5. LETS ALL VOTE FOR THE BLOCK EVEN IFYOUR IN THE PRARIES AND WE WILL WEXIT WILE THEY GET THERE INDEPENDENCE WIN WIN

  6. When a politician from Quebec talks about saving a lot of money from one government position and you know multi-millions of dollars is sent to that province by the others yearly, as well as the added cost of having to say things twice (once in English, then again in french) as well as the amount of public works that were forced into that province at their behest and complaint well….I literally see the horse manure falling from his mouth. Total waste of 2:18 of video feed.

  7. Have a third referendum in Quebec and then get the f out…will save Alberta $13 BILLION YEARLY . Confederation is dead.
