A bipartisan group of ten senators has reached a tentative deal on a infrastructure plan after President Biden had ended earlier negotiations with Republicans. NBC's Sahil Kapur reports from Capitol Hill.

Bipartisan Group Of Senators Reaches Tentative Infrastructure Deal
lmao they put Ed Markey as a Republican
Ik I was going to point that out , that’s why they put it down quick 😅
I don’t know why they are even bothering with this. No way that this will pass.
Depends on how many Republicans will squirm, and judging by the current chaos there won’t be many.
@Kermit T. Frog It’s the only way to go about it. There is no way that Democratic priorities are going to get passed through imitating the Republicans. They simply don’t have the numbers nor strict adherence to the party.
The only way that I can see these plans getting through, is with Republicans support (to overcome the filibuster).
@Mr. James There is no way that Republicans will support the removal of the filibuster. They don’t think that far ahead. And it would get in the way of their plans to rig the elections in 2022 and 2024.
@J I think the Repubs are once again yanking the Dems’ chain. And at the last second they’ll say they won’t do it. They’ve done this before.
@ken kesler I think that calculation is that the DEMOCRATS will reject the compromise. And they very well could be right.
If you think the traitor republicans word is worth ANYTHING….I’ve got a slightly used bridge you’ll be interested in…
@Willie Dixon your asking what it’s for well simple to fix America infrastructure and look what Ireland has done but no you have since the 70s blame the poor and the poor are irrelevant they cant pay
@The FuQ is Wrong with you?
Just a education camp will do.
You can start in Pre-k then work your way up to TRUMP THE HUMP university!!!!!!
NO…WAIT….
TRUMP UNIVERSITY WAS SHUT DOWN FOR BEING A FRAUD.
WELL…..THATS WHAT HE IS BEST KNOWN FOR WORLD WIDE.
LIES …SWINDLES…..CORRUPTIONS…NOW TREASON.
WHAT A LEADER.
GO SAY SEIG HIEL TO YOUR FASCIST LEADER.
BEFORE HE LEAVES THE COUNTRY TO KEEP FROM GOING TO FEDERAL PRISON.
@Friend there were other poeple involved in the looting and burning too, mostly ordinary criminals taking advantage of the situation
@Hairy legs Corn Pop
No, Antifa are just idiots. Many did commit crimes. But we are talking treason here. You know: what trump and it’s cronies and supporters do, not Antifa
@Robert Hylton Trump wasn’t even the topic of the comment, try to focus wiff your wittew pea brain.
Raise the taxes on the rich, I paid my fair share of taxes over the last 50 years
Or even just make them pay any taxes at all
@ולאָזטאָ ולאָזטאָ during the 1950s, the rich paid 90% in taxes
@Lafosh we should just sieze thier assets
@Bill Robbins exactly
@Belly Dancer Em nope the debt started in 1919 federal reserve and many changes from gold backed to oil backed or petrol dallor so basically every dallor you have is backed by oil and two stock market crashed on in 1929 and then 1943 and the great depression so just imagine no fed funny money your talking great great great depression with no money BC the great depression had fed funny money
Some bipartisan panel. By my count it’s six Republicans and four Democrats because I don’t classify mansion and Cinema as Democrats. Also supposedly, this proposal will Target those making less than 400,000 a year as opposed to President Biden’s proposal which would Target those making over $400,000 a year.
In the end, in my humble opinion, this is just been another excuse for 10 people in Congress to sit on their butts and talk and get paid to do that from taxpayers money. It’s not like they had to get out there and dig a ditch because I’m pretty sure at least five of them might do that in order to build a moat complete with alligators.
Cya later alligator
Doug Ohaver
well, considering that the Democrats want I’ll take the sitting on their butts anytime 😀
It’s not even enough to do what we need to get everything updated much less progress to be competitive. This is a nonstarter for the American people. Go big or loose everything.
We are so far behind and too many people in government haven’t noticed, presumably because either they don’t look around in the world too much, or else they’re hoping we won’t.
I think this is merely more purposeful time-wasting by you-know-who.
*I LIVE IN BULGARIA* our infrastructure budget for the next 5 years is $76 Billion Population 7 million people
You guys should be spending $3.4 trillion *JUST TO KEEP UP WITH THE POOREST COUNTRY IN THE EU*
@cc 1k By this point we have to see that this is just a sister country to England it always was and now its china and England .
what is big enough and how do you get to that number? maybe you’re just parroting what politicians say? maybe the number is too small or perhaps too big.
Wasn’t the 1/6 bill drafter by a bipartisan group as well? How’d that vote turn out?
Yeah. When are the Dems gonna yank off the rose-colored glasses? The Repubs’ll simply wait til the very last second (like with the 1/6 bill) and then say they won’t do it. Just another underhanded stall tactic to waste precious time until the 2022 midterms.
There isn’t really much chance of a bipartisan deal with so many of the GOP hellbent to block anything from the left no matter how much wheelin’ and dealin’ they propose to do. The Dems just have to get tough and push through what needs to be pushed through. Let the GOP try to take it away once it’s done and see just how fast their base turns on them.
The Republicans want to change the universe.
A Fry
you are assuming that all Democrat Senators will vote for it. If the Republicans vote for anything that has Democrat BS in it that has nothing to do with infrastructure their political careers will be over their next election.
if we act too rashly, the 2022 midterms will be a kick to the bum. so think of long term gains of being in control as well before wanting to always have 100% of the plan executed. sometimes we gotta make concessions. somethings better than nothing
because the GOP don’t care about the American people, they just want power, at any cost
These “negotiators” are a f***** joke corporate pleasers
T_ Buddski
How? I am sure Corporations want them to pass a bill pouring money we don’t have into businesses who provide
the materials for infrastructure. The problem is the Bill the democrats want is more social BS than infrastructure. I do agree on one thing. If Romney is one of the Republicans they are a joke.
It’s like GOP just look at their supporters in rural areas and say to themselves “we can get away with not doing infrastructure”
@Kennedy Suggs taxes were suggested on the ultra wealthy. not you or me.
@Sebin Mathew they have refused to say their bill wouldn’t raise taxes on the middle class. You really think their rich buddies are gonna be the one paying for it?
@Kennedy Suggs Ther billionaires arte gonna be the only ones paying it
@Belly Dancer Em just like every other time sure buddy
And they are correct
Neutered and it’ll still be blocked. When will the Democrats realize it’s time to be real monsters and get 💩 done?
Listen to Thanos, Charlie Brown. 🏈
@Luis Rosales And if they caved in, you would have still claimed they’ll get steamrolled in the midterms. So what’s the point?
@Insignificant360
Exactly what’s the point? Republican states earned more seats from the census reports, now we just have to see what the midterm votes are. Republicans are expected to take back the house.
@Luis Rosales So you were just gloating and trying to gaslight the idea that it happens when Democrats do _anything._
So 7 Republicans and 3 Democrats are trying to come up with the infrastructure bill? So basically it’s going to fix nothing…got it.
570 billion is something might not be enough but it is something
The first thing we can do is to spend the $40-$70 billion that is already in the highway trust fund. That is a huge amount of money that was paid into by Americans who bought motor fuel. The federal highway trust fund is a users fee that was originally intended to build and repair roads and bridges. The trouble is corrupt politicians have wasted this money for law enforcement overtime Ticket rating schemes, building of hiking biking and snowmobile trails, depletion of bus benches in bus shelters. Let’s spend the money we already have rather than resort to inflationary deficit spending.
Why do I get the overpowering feeling that this is yet another stalling tactic? The Republicans are simply out to waste time with faithless and hollow ‘negotiation’ until the 2022 midterms. C’mon Democrats! Ram this thing through unilaterally if you have to, BUT GET IT DONE!!
That amount won’t cover upgrading broadband. Forget the drinking water or climate infrastructure. Both sides of American politics is a joke.
Screw them. This isn’t even close to enough. Even if every penny of this was spent right, which I don’t believe, it is well below what is needed to fix the critically endangered infrastructure.
Ken Shaw
so increase state and local taxes? OH, be assured if any bill gets passed it won’t be spent right. In fact most of the bill won’t have anything to do with infrastructure. I have a suggestion . Have both the Democrats and Republicans take all the money they raise for elections and give it to the infrastructure 😀
Ok so how much is enough and how do you come to that estimate? Or are we playing throw a number in the sky and see what sticks.
But billionaires need more money to buy satellite yachts for thier other yachts!!!!
This is joke. No 10 GOP gonna vote for whatever. Utter joke.
They should just ignore the Republicans and go through reconciliation. Even Joe Manchin can be brought around to get his vote.
Manchin and Sinema are actually republicans, at least they act like it.
I much disagree, they are standing up for democracy. What we see in them is real democracy because they are not acquiescing to mob rule.
when they say “no tax increase” they mean for the rich…..We will pay our fair share but not them…
Raise taxes on the the rich like you promised Joe
