@Michelle Burkholder I was scared to death for my grandchildren, one of whom has asthma, and that they’d bring it home to their parents – one of whom has an autoimmune disease and one who has diabetes. Thankfully they live in Oregon, where schools probably won’t reopen in September.
Fortunately school is out here until August, slightly more than a few months. My son is a teacher. Biology actually.

@Brent Hollett Very true about workplaces being just as dangerous. My fear with schools is kids, especially younger elementary age children, are more adapt to forgo proper hygiene and distancing guidelines. It’s why other respiratory illnesses, as well as things like lice, already have proven how easily they spread in school environments. Some of this can be mitigated by teachers explaining and stressing to the kids the need to follow these however kids are quick to forget something that doesn’t come naturally to them and no teacher can have her constant attention on every single student in her class.

We have two – 6 and 8 – and I feel sorry for any teacher who has to corral 25 or 30 of them at one time, let alone track hand washings, maybe face masks, sanitizers and trying to run around spraying and wiping down door knobs, desks and other surfaces.
