A photo of the president’s detailed note cards taken during a press conference has led a number of Republicans to raise new questions about his age at the start of his reelection bid and to condemn what they see as an overly cozy approach from the White House press corps. #CNN #News

They probably also indicate his ongoing struggle with stammering. As a stammerer myself, I know how much notes help prevent me from stumbling when the word just won’t come. Without them, there is a risk of a word-substitution failure, and imagine how very gentle and understanding the press is about such a mistake?
@Martin Dread Every serious president prepares answers to likely to come questions with his staff. Only Trump always had a lack of preparation, that’s why he asked ridiculous things like if we couldn’t inject disinfectants against Covid or buy Greenland.
@Francis Peter OK, we should be proud practitioner of tit for tat (aka brinkmanship) foreign policy. We can be proud of another thing…we don’t discriminate…Saddam, Mullah Omar, Qaddafi, Kim, Putin, Xi (?), Ayatollah…all the same.
@Francis Peter Pretending just makes you childish.. you’re very wrong
Compare his present articulation to his younger days. There’s WAS no stammer when he was younger. He’s slurring …and forgetting.. big difference
Notes card is no issue but predetermined questions is.
@M Hall Yes, even If it happened that way, it would be absolutely normal. You can’t expect from a normal human to remember all the names of all the people a president meets every day. And even if the questions were known i don’t see the problem. Also a president doesn’t know everything his administration is doing, so where would be the Problem if they were prepared in order to give precise and satisfying answers? Fun fact is, you are a big fan of a president who was extremely proud of his dementia test, remember „person, woman, man, camera, tv“?
As someone with ADHD, I ALWAYS have note cards I use when giving a talk or speech. In fact, I taught a 3 hour training course, at least 1 time a week for 3 years, and I always used a reference sheet to keep me on task, even though I was extremely familiar with the topic. I often invited participants into the conversation to share their stories and it was easy to get off track, so the cheat sheet allowed me to resume where we had departed from the necessary information I needed to impart. With that said, Biden will not win this election if the Repubes can muster some reasonable candidate. And I voted for him last time. He won because of Drumpf, and if Drumpf is not running he won’t win again. I agree with someone below—it’s professional to be prepared however you need to do it.
Problem is getting questions ahead of time.
Questioning the note cards while your job is reading the teleprompter. ❤
@Mister Hat TDS 😂
@Kyle Rittenhouse <--- Troll
@Mister Hat and you struggle with punctuation! Your point?
@Mister Hat says the troll 😆
Every time someone mentions age I get pissed off. Am I supposed to be senile in five years? I know some young people who are not able to give coherent speeches. The people who say that should try to go on as much travel, public appearances and speech giving and try to do it all without notes!
@valerie I have not seen him stutter. I have seen him forget what he is talking about, forget words, and forget where he is and what he is supposed to be doing. It is possible that he only stutters when he is telling the truth. He is, in fact, corrupt.
@valerie LOL- anyone who thinks brandon doesn’t have dementia- has dementia.
@valerie
You are blaming his mishaps on a stutter? You’re joking right?
@Ursula Myers and how old are you?
If Orrin Hatch wasn’t considered too old to serve after he went through the full motion of removing his invisible glasses, Joe Biden isn’t too old just because he keeps notes.
he’s not keeping notes to help him with a speech. he’s literally keeping notes of the questions he’s going to get and how to even respond, respond? and you trying to make excuses for him?
I remember I gave the best brief in a military unit development class and was titled Mr OPORDER.
What helped me was preparation using note cards.
As a matter of fact, it is highly recommended in all military education or training which which requires briefings.
@M Hall If you ‘fight for your country’ by enlisting in the Petroleum companies security forces, you already have some form of lowered intelligence.
@Cotac_Rastic 👈. You don’t make sense.
You are correct but this issue is far beyond note cards. It’s his other gaffs and quirks CNN should be reporting on. How many times he tried to shake hands with an invisible man on stage is one report I would like to see.
“End of quote, repeat the line”
I got two words for you let’s go Brandon
Where’s Jackie 🤪
LMAO
I’ve met many a doctor who suffer from the Dunning-Kruger effect, not only medical doctors but doctors in general. It’s a mental affliction that is easy to catch when you’re near the top of your field of study.
This one might be a showcase example.
@jim yeats Well, thanks for asking Mr. Yeats, and your feedback is well appreciated. To answer your question, my reference to the Dunning-Kruger effect pertains to the former not the latter.
@Nathan Cortes Which aspects did you find showcased this?
@jim yeats In this case, Dr. Gupta here obtained his medical degree 30 years ago. He stopped practicising 20 years ago, yet here he is speaking with a level of authority on a current topic which he has little to no expertise on. He obviously thinks he does though.
@Nathan Cortes I’m not sure I would agree with that, or with this being a good example of the Dunning Krueger effect. This is an individual with his background as a neurosurgeon who still holds an active medical license and still is active in teaching at the universities, and who has focused his later career on aging and has written books on the topic. So, I think it would be reasonable that he discuss entry level information on aging that anyone could look up. So I would posit that this is one of the worst possible examples of the Dunning Kruger effect.
Dr. Guupta would never say anything negative about Joe Biden on CNN
New biden song 👇
Welcome! Sleepy joe
Right, I hate how unbiased media is nowadays. Can’t trust anyone.
As manipulators as CNN is
“strange days have found us” most definitely jmorrison
It’s not a new question, it’s your just now giving it coverage!😊
The guy is a gaffe machine. When he was in Rolling Fork recently he called it Rolling Stone twice. My favorite was when he was speaking in Philadelphia and said he was wearing an Eagles jacket but he was wearing a Delaware Blue Hens jacket 🤣
While his age should certainly be of interest, given that he will be influencing the lives of millions, having notes is not a bad thing. Even public speakers have them in one form or another.
True but when you have questions on those cards it makes the whole situation bad not only did his people have time to come up with answers but it means these weren’t off the cuff answers plus add in the questions about how his brain is this brings up serious questions about the leader of the country
Detailed notes means he actually had something written on the paper…..unlike another president I remember
Yeah he’s old but watch the correspondents dinner speech, he hardly looked at his speech. I know I couldn’t speak for that long without looking at notes and I’m nearly 30 years younger!
Yeah, lets all excuse this old mans senile behavior. It will make (our team) look better.
And he killed it at the dinner.
I don’t think he just had notes though. He had almost the exact questions. That’s the actual problem.Also anyone who doesn’t think he has cognitive issues right now, isn’t paying attention.
Having notes on what to say is fine. Knowing what the reporters (who are supposed to hold the administration accountable) are going to ask is the bigger issue.
That’s like trying to predict if the sun will come up.
@The paradoxical tourist: travel reviews of concepts
So you’re saying without it, Biden would have been able to predict almost verbatim what her question would be?
First of all these “cheat cards” proof professionalism and careful preparation.
Exactly what we should want.
Not just twaddling some random standard repetitive phrases.
Second:
Biden has always been a bit easy in accidentally confusing things – gaffs.
Therefor these cards show politeness and readiness for learning out of deficits – I believe it would hurt him mixing names – and he did that to OUR amusement but not to the amusement of those that got mixed, including his wife.
Just compare that to the “Tim Apple” story…
Even if Bidan’s “crystallized abilities” would decline or had declined much further as in the chart:
Important for someone who as in the last months literally decides over the faith of our entire western value based life in liberal societies – I for one am interested of WHAT did crystallize there.
What values lead this man?
What does his gutt feeling say?
What lifetime experiences and achievements can he bring in?
How does he get advised, how did he choose his advisers?
How can one convince other stakeholders in domestic and international politics?
America – Free World – with respect to these – first find one more comforting than Joe Biden!
I prefer HIM half a day asleep and walking with a stroller to yet ALL that are challenging him. ❤ GOD Bless Everyone
