This 2016 election polls were incorrect narrative is false. As someone who has played around with the actual data, aggregated from most polls in 2016, I can tell you a Trump victory was very possible. What the polls actually said was that we are 99% certain that HC has a 70% chance of winning the popular vote, +- 2.8%. The odds of her winning the Electoral college were far more complicated to model, but she also won in a majority of simulations.
The data never supported a near certainty of HC victory, only very specific pundits / firms claimed the data supported this inference and they were wrong.

@Blaise MacPherson No, I’ve never met one. It’s not that they get to pick the president, although, they used to do just that. They are mandated by the electoral college. When Trump won the electoral college there was a push to get some of them to vote against their state results. It didn’t work. The only way we can have a direct election for president, like we do for all our other elected representatives, is a constitutional amendment to abolish the electoral college and all for a direct vote.
