I would also agree that it gave trump more opportunity to have talks without any notes or documentation made about it. @t henderson You are embarrassingly ill-informed. Pence was appointed White House Coronavirus Task Force Leader by Trump last February. He was the chair and responsible for the overall program. None of the “science people” were in charge of anything. In fact, they got silenced when they failed to tow the line on Trump’s failed and incompetent policies. Everything was bungled by the Trump administration, including acquiring urgently needed PPE, syringes, gauze pads, distribution, the whole ball of wax. A mess.
We had a vaccine in record time because, A) There was substantial private funding applied and B) With rapid genomic testing and using different “platform technologies” (in use for over a decade now) that involve slotting genetic material from the virus into a tried and tested delivery package. Once introduced into the human body this genetic material is used by the protein-making machinery in our cells to churn out the coronavirus “spike protein”, triggering an immune response.
These vaccines were NOT developed by people on Pence’s task force. They were developed independently by companies like Pfizer and Moderna, neither of which used ANY funds from the U.S. Government or the Trump administration for any aspect of their development work.
The fact that it would even occur to you that there might be something inherently wrong with appointing people of color and/or questioning their qualifications (you can go online and read their credentials) marks you out for exactly what you are a bigoted, racist MAGGOT.
Its pretty obvious that “Operation Warp Speed” Was call it that so it sounds good, and then do absolutely nothing because it was just another joke.

There was an existing plan of how to deal with Pandemics, this plan was prepared by the Obama administration. During Obama-Trump transition period this was discussed between members of the outgoing and incoming team. Trump simply did not want it because it was a product of Obama’s team. Like the Obamacare which he wanted replaced.
Was he able to come up with an alternative plan for dealing with Pandemics? Were is repeal and replace Obamacare now? Trump is all showmanship – no substance.
