Mattel partnered with the National Down Syndrome Society to create a Barbie doll with Down syndrome in an effort to release more inclusive figures.

The new doll is part of Barbie's 2023 Fashionista line, which the company describes as an "inclusive range" of dolls "designed to reflect the world kids see today." Previous dolls in Barbie's Fashionista lineup have included a doll with hearing aids, dolls who come with a wheelchair and ramp and a Barbie and Ken who have a skin condition called vitiligo.
“Our goal is to enable all children to see themselves in Barbie, while also encouraging children to play with dolls who do not look like themselves," said Lisa McKnight, a Mattel executive vice president, in a press release.

Beautiful ❤️❤️
That is so cool! Way to go!
I dunno. I don’t think she looks like she has Downs.
Yeah It doesn’t look like it has it idk
I think the eyes needed more work.
What’s next amputee Amy
Why not? If you or one of your parents has a missing leg, what’s wrong with getting a doll that has an amputated limb?
Club foot Ken and Hair Lip Larry and Migraine Midge.
I’m sorry, but this is messed up. I don’t see it as a good thing. It’s wrong all across the spectrum.Making a fortune from the disability of others is just as nasty as someone can get. And that’s just one thought in the matter.
So many precious people have been discarded.
I think these dolls show appreciation for Down Syndrome people in society, and I ❤️ that.
Yeah, much better to hide kids with Down Syndrome somewhere where they won’t be seen. Much better to stigmatize these children even more than they already have been.

What’s next? Aphrodite Allison or One-Testicle Oscar?
Or maybe a doll named after you – Totally Troll Teddy.
Now Barbie can help young girls with Down Syndrome develop body dysmorphia and eating disorders.
I love her she’s so cute I’m happy barbie dolls are diverse like the real world even those I miss the days of barbie life in the dream house that show is really good and funny
