A woman who was trapped inside a bank during a robbery and fatal shootout with police near Victoria on Tuesday says there is one question still plaguing her a day later: Why didn't the gunmen just leave with the money?

Why didn’t she just use her licensed sidearm to defend herself and co-workers, instead of letting things escalate to the point of absurdity?
Because she wasn’t at a range, and if she was and did, she’d be charged along side the criminal and lose her firearms and license. These handguns coming over the border are the issue, not law abiding Canadian gun owners.

You see how nice two armed bank robbers are to you when you’re holding up a phone recording or trying to prop it up to record. Because odds are they took that bank over quick, like 15-20 seconds quick. You’d have to see them coming down the road to have time to hit record and hide your phone somewhere. Because you ain’t keeping it in your hands that’s for sure.

they should have just reminded them that guns are illegal
she did the right thing, but should have shut her phone after relaying the info. The response team did a poor job. they should have let them get into their get-away cars and followed them via chopper, then raided them at night when they went to bed.
It looks pretty sloppy for sure. I wonder who the hell robs a bank with that sort of equipment. Its CPP day, exactly how much cash was on site? Were they after a safety deposit box? Did they have inside info? Did they get bad info? It all doesnt add up to me. There is something off abour the whole robbery, we will most likely never know either.
There were bank hostages? Panic would not help at all. Know that everyone and everything will die someday. Whether it’s 50 years from now or today, only the time and method would differ for everyone.

the officer leading the charge with the dog is amazing. He doesn’t let the dog go (could have killed him) and keeps engaging the suspects. Probably deserves a medal or something
