You do not need 100% for herd immunity. The efficacy x the participation rate should be > 75%.

Why is 70% efficacy good news when two other vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) have already reported over 90%? Is it because AstraZeneca was the horse Trump chose to bet on with all the taxpayers’ “Operation Warp Speed” money? Oh, they mention the cost difference. I see. Mark my words, the wealthy in the U.S. will get a 90%+ vaccine and the insurance companies and HMOs will leave the rest of us with no choice but to get the cheaper, less effective AstraZeneca product. Cuz that’s how the U.S. works. So shameful, the disparities between the ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’ in this country.
