Armed Police Respond To 'Major Incident' At London Bridge | MSNBC
Police shoot dead the man with the knife
No they didn’t. This is England. We take them alive if at all possible.
Next time, just the kneecaps, then the rest a little later.
@Farley Moab You’re embarrassing yourself !
@Farley Moab I see your a sadist then.
Be safe over there in London.
Let’s not forget the danger of Putin and Iran. They behind everything.
They have taken in ASYLUM seekers, they are screwed.
How can they be safe… IS lamic attacks happen all the time but the Moose Limb controlled media hides it… Knife attacks acids attacks … So why is having them more important than our lives and freedoms? Have they improved any western country they have entered? I’ll wait
@Sir Loxley Mendoza black people get attacked Everyday by some white supremacist or some KKK member calm the f*** down. SMFH
@Sir Loxley Mendoza get your panties out of a bunch. All I said was stay safe. Smh
The difference between this event and American “incidents” is that in America many more people would have died from gunfire.
MELT THE GUNS.
@urbanimage … You may be “safer” without guns or the right to keep them ….. But you certainly are not in charge of that safety illusion, that you keep in your mind, to make yourself feel better, either. You are powerless. 100% powerless. No power…. nothing. Nada. Finis.
@us citizen … You are NOT who you claim to be. You are a phony …
@urbanimage I suppose
FFS 😈
Camera never cuts back to Stephanie. Bummer. Two more days of this withdrawal. Painful.
So sorry, London, stay safe. Take care, good for the good teamwork who helped stop this maniac.
You misspelled Muslim
Great job by our police and bystanders so proud of them
Had you deported the slime the police would have not been needed
Sir Loxley Mendoza
If It was not election time in the UK it would never had happened!!
Major Incident?
I know, right? A lone stabber injures a couple Brits and its a “major incident””. In most parts of the US that would barely qualify as news. No guns, no drugs, nobody even died.
@Fogmoz – Wrong – maybe you should wait and get all the info before you make a comment…
Terrorists in Europe tend to hunt in packs, I.e. there’s usually more than one, they move quickly, killing quickly, hitting as many targets as they can, there have been several attacks in the UK, and across Europe and it’s treated as a major incident as in it’s better to throw everything at it – until the situation is under control and the scale of the threat is established and delt with.
In this case five people were stabbed two have died, brave bystanders subdued the terrorist one removing the knife, police arrived, the terrorist was on the floor being held down by bystanders, he has an imitation bomb vest on, this was seen as a major threat, the police pulled the bystander on top of the terrorist to safety, and before the terrorist could trigger the bomb device he was shot, it’s been confirmed the vest was a hoax bomb, but that was not known at the time, and there were several buses stopped on the bridge directly opposite the scene plus several members of the public around, so the police were right in their actions to stop this terrorist and reduce the risk of him exploding his device. He was apparently a convicted terrorist who had recently been released from prison on licence…
Until it can be established for certain that this was just the act of a single person they have to treat the threat as if it could be a terrorist cell with more than one attacker, so people are moved to areas of safety, with the knowledge that you might have other members of that terrorist cell dotted around London at several sites ready to engage in terrorist acts, as that is what they have done in the UK and across Europe before… and you don’t take risks with human lives…
It’s easy to trivialise something saying well we’ve had it far worse what’s all the fuss about,… but no terrorist incident is trivial,… on the last London Bridge terrorist attack there were US citizens killed who were visiting London on vacation, those people were stabbed to death, run over and knocked over the edge of the bridge into the Thames by the vehicle the terrorists used,… It’s never trivial,… I suggest you get all the facts next time before you comment…
@Ann Best
First and foremost, I was being darkly facetious, making sarcastic commentary on the US’ continued disregard for the safety of its citizens. In all honesty I applaud the actions of the UK.
Second, i’m not caught up on any pattern of attacks across the UK & Europe, or even the details of this event – would you mind linking where you found your info?
@Fogmoz – I live in the UK, there have been several attacks over the years, large and small events, involving terrorist groups and individuals,… There is an unending amount of intelligence work carried out by the UK police and the UK intelligence trying to identify terrorist groups, and there are frequently details being released about terrorist groups planning attacks but getting caught before they can carry out their plans… we are very lucky to have the police and intelligence groups that we do…
There was one attack though a couple of years ago in London that got to me,… a group of four terrorists hacked their way through an area of the city one evening where there were people at restaurants and bars, and they just chopped into people with their machetes and knives, there was a young Australian nurse who was working in the UK just to get a bit of work experience and see a bit of the world,… well she was hiding with her colleagues and other diners at the back of one particular restaurant, but she saw this person stabbed and injured and she came out of her hiding place and tried to help this person, but the terrorists spotted her and deliberately went back into the restaurant and stabbed her to death whilst she was working on this other stab victim,… a young policeman died a heroic death saving others that night too, and although there were others killed that night, the stories of those two people being killed whilst trying to save others was very poignant…
We work closely with Europe constantly trying to combat this threat, France, Germany, The Mediterranean countries have all had major incidents, involving firearms, knives, vehicles like buses being used like tanks and driven through large crowds of people mowing them down and killing dozens,… that modus operandi has been used on several occasions, you will often see large concrete blocks dotted around large cities across the UK and Europe to reduce the risks of this type of act,… France has had several major events with dozens killed over the years, and Paris has also been hit on more than one occasion with those terrorists tending to use more firearms than they have here in the UK… We have had bombs, cars being driven into buildings, firearm incidents, stabbings, in general it is an ongoing thing, a few years ago this initiative was sent out nationwide across the news networks by the police about what to do if you are out and about or say in a shopping centre and a terrorist attack occurs,… it was very useful…
However in the US you have pretty major incidents as well…. school shootings are major tragedies for you over there, they’re absolutely awful with such young lives being lost, we have nothing in the UK ( touch wood ) on the scale of those events on such a frequent basis,… you have forest fires, extreme weather events, every country suffers their own problems I guess, so I can see why you wrote what you did because you will have witnessed harrowing images and news stories in your country, and sometimes we all think oh for goodness sake why are they making such a fuss about that, so I understand what you meant,… sometimes we all get a bit oversensitive…
Kudos to whoever put the bullets into the mutt
Well, I see that “something happened somewhere” again 🤔
Dear reporter. You was late to the scene. We knew everything you said. We could’ve read twitter ourselves. But thnx anyways.
EU Live No Commend from Merkel Macron and Ursula von de Lyen ..
For the UK this is a major indecent . Sadly in the USA unless 10 or more people are gunned down it wont even make the headlines
I see London I see France I see London’s Mayors underpants
*Keep your racist mouth shut*
Now if this loon had a gun…like so many in the US….what would the news be?
@Toward Treatise Yes, those consequences include lessdeaths, less murders, less rapes, less armed robberies, less mass killings. Those horrible consequences include people who are safe from violence.
The US is ranked the 17th in the list of the freest countries in the world. All of the countries above the US have reasoable gun control laws.
If you won’t move, stop pretending you can tell other people to move. You are the minority. Stop attacking and insulting the true patriots in the US.
@Toward Treatise There is no need to amend the Constitution. It clearly supports my position, not yours.
Stop lying and spewing the same, tired old NRA propaganda.
Wow! A five minute break from sh*tting on Trump.
Walt Schmidt Too bad Trump doesn’t take a five minute break from sh%tting on the United States.
@Judy Bargenquast Yes, our economy is indicative of that.
@Walt Schmidt Thanks to president Obama …
Nothing about the knife attack in the Netherlands? They don’t think the 2 incidents area related to terrorism? They would just rather keep the brainwashed leftists in the dark..
Vote for the incumbent and make Ireland greater
Some people did something.
Amazing that a knifing in London makes international news whereas a mass shooting in the US is just another everyday occurrence …
The casualties would have been far worse in US too. What a difference gun laws make…
wee huddy maybe they need better gun control to stop evil men from doing violence. I hear that it magically keeps criminals from killing people. By the way, when was the last time you heard about a bombing in the Middle East? I dare say they are just another daily occurrence as well.
To all the victims and their families, my heart goes out to you. I’m not really trying to be an a**, I just hate it when people try to solve complex problems with simple platitudes. I’m also glad this fellow did not choose a more deadly weapon like a bomb or a gun. And to wee huddy’s point, you are very fortunate to be at least a little more civilized than your American counterparts who believe that anyone who disagrees with them is the enemy.
