    1. A guy who stole over billions of USD dollars and hid the money overseas is not going to die with Russia. Putin will NOT use any NUKES because he knows once he crosses the line, he will be hunted down and hanged like a war criminal. Do not be threatened by his stupid talk.

    2. @Ari I Russia only cares about Russians. Thats why their genocidal rampages have been on non Russians only.

    1. @MD F so me condemning people trying to take advantage of people financially who are in a dire situation bothers you ?? so if you needed to escape for your life, you don’t mind having to pay all your money to someone who is giving you an ultimatum to pay else no help illegally ? are you for real ??????

    1. Now as he is weak old and kind of nuts no one can stop his madness. One huge mistake upon another. Russia sucks. Russians kind of sucks to let this happen.

    2. @DOctor Cool100 The people are fed propaganda through state controlled media and constantly led to believe that there’s an imminent threat of invasion by NATO.

    3. @Mace It’s way higher than 45,000. There are estimates coming out it could be as high as 120,000 dead ruSSians currently

  1. Just for the record, it’s beyond reasonable doubt that these call-ups were in fact not errors at all, they’re after as many people as they can get. Don’t take anything coming out of Russian society at face value, their internal discussions are typically heavily choreographed.

  2. Putins behavior makes me think of a desperate Hitler believing victory is still possible, even though the situation on the ground is not suggesting that at all

    1. oh here we go AGAIN with the HITLER analogies!!!!! MY GOD!!!! That was &) years ago!!!! MOVE FOWARD!!!!! And get over it!!!!!!!

  3. The flow, of Russians, out of the country is on a serious uptick. But, it was happening even before this new conscription drive. Last month, I was staying in Israel for a couple of months, which I’ve done numerous times in the past. The stores were filled with people who only spoke Russian. Most of them were in their 20s and 30s. Several times, I was asked by strangers on their phones, if I spoke Russian, could I translate for them. (When I responded I only spoke English and Spanish, in addition to the Hebrew we were speaking, they said they already knew English, and Spanish is useless.) These were mostly real estate agents, with an influx of new Russian clients, trying to buy apartments. I know, from family of friends, that Turkey is also full of Russians, looking to resettle there. Even if Putin were to stop this stupid war of his, many of these Russians won’t return, as they are getting homes and jobs in other countries. The death blow, Putin has dealt, to the Russian economy, is not just the sanctions, it is the massive loss of educated young adults from the workforce.

    1. @Gig McSweeney google it, we aren’t your English teachers. Also, “could care less” is wrong, the saying is “couldn’t care less”. If you’re going to try to sound like a pretentious prick, know what you’re talking about

    2. @Gig McSweeney It’s a word used in North America, at the very least, and is literally in the dictionary. I’ve heard it used in the news to report a slight rise, as opposed to say a marked increase, of something like crime. Somewhat surprising you’ve never heard of it given your obvious vocabulary.

    1. @Gareth Johnstone such a great comment and extremely valid. With emergency service experience i would tend to agree with a lot of that. Reasoning particularly at times and also sheer determination to cause distress with no let up. Males and females can be just as bad as each other, but in different ways

  4. The end to all of this has to come from the top. When nuclear war is an option that cannot be won, it’s more important to save the world than one man’s pride.

  5. There are parallels to the war in Vietnam I think. The US took a stance, a political and then military stance against a regime/a philosophy that they saw as a threat. They thought might was right and went in using their huge power, using conscripts, trying to intimidate and destroy a movement…Ultimately the mighty US was humiliated by a lightly armed, highly mobile army of guerrillas that were able to melt into the jungle… into the civilian population and strike fast blows…by not using the war rulebook they took the initiative away from America. In some ways Ukraine by striking relentlessly at Russian forces using small drones are doing the same, defeating an army superior in numbers, with a massive arsenal of weapons but who can’t think outside of the box…the box being brute force…artillery artillery artillery..

  6. The thing is, even if Putin does try to use nukes, will any of them work? They take a lot of maintenance, and their delivery systems also need to be well looked after. Considering that most of the Russian heavy equipment was barely functional at the start of the invasion, there is no expectation that the Russian Nuclear Forces are in a better condition. The corruption and negligence in the Russian military has been epic and on a scale rarely seen before.

    1. A number of analysts on the topic have already answered this question, they do work most likely but only a limited number of them is currently on high alert meaning they’re ready to be deployed at a moment’s notice. Most NATO countries have air defense capabilities for deflecting an attack of this scale, the problem only comes when Russia runs out of these nukes and has to bring new ones which is a long and convoluted process that can take hours, that’s when the world has to decide how exactly should it act in response. Technically the US army alone could take out the entire Russian military system, so the biggest factor here is not that the nukes don’t work, it’s that no matter how Putin decides to go nuclear he has to make the first move and that will always be the losing one.
Personally I believe the reason he won’t use them is that China has the Far East at gunpoint and it absolutely won’t allow Putin to ruin its chance at being the next top world power

    2. Who cares if they actually WORK!!!! They can at least contaminate the soil and water and air with radiation and other chemicals!!!!

    3. I mean who would be surprised if much of that valuable enriched nuclear fuel in the warheads has been pilfered and sold off by corrupt aparatchiks by now?

    4. @waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa The trouble is that we also used to believe that all of his tanks worked, which they don’t. And we were lead to believe his high precision weapons worked, but only 40% did. Just because they are in a high state of readiness does not mean they will work. Russia has a larger nuclear arsenal than the USA does, but the USA spends more on maintaining its nukes every year than the Russians spend on their nukes, army, navy and air force combined. I suspect that their nuke forces are at the same level of preparedness as was their flagship the Moskva; that is to say, unfit for purpose.

    1. But these are people who support the war. They just don’t want to die in it. Personally, I wouldn’t want them in my country. They aren’t fleeing for the right reasons. It’s a bunch of rich russians who don’t want to be the ones to die. Let the poor russians in.

  7. Russian citizen, “Do you support Putin?” “Yes from across the boarder, no one’s falling out windows there!”

  8. I wonder what our world will be like in a few years, when nuclear powers realize they can conduct nuclear strikes on their non-nuclear neighbors, invade them, and the rest of the world fails to respond for fear of escalating a one-sided nuclear war into a two-sided nuclear war.

  9. Putin is changing generals even faster than Hitler did. Mainly, he needs someone to blame for his many failures. He may also imagine that he will discover some military genius who can turn the tide. But the high turnover also makes it much harder for anyone to organize opposition. As familiar faces are replaced with less familiar subordinates, his distrust of the officer corps can only grow.

  10. On the one hand, it’s comforting to hear someone saying that we can’t respond in kind if Putin launches a nuclear attack because it would unleash a nuclear holocaust. On the other hand, it’s kind of irresponsible for him to say it because it undermines the west’s nuclear deterrent.

  11. I’VE SERVED IN OUR U.S NAVY FOR 14 YEARS AND I HAVE ALWAYS SAID THAT NO ONE MAN SHOULD BE A LEADER OVER NO COUNTRY FOR DECADES AND DECADES BECAUSE THEY GET A GOD LIKE MENTALITY AND THINK THAT THEY ARE UNTOUCHABLE AND WANTS MORE POWER THAN THEY NEED, AND LOOSE THE CONCEPT THAT LIFE SHOULD BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN POWER.
