    1. I would assume that if msnbc can get their hands on this information Russia already has it, he’ll I wouldn’t be surprised it it turns out the useless Javelins were Putin’s idea.

    2. Yakav8r55m : Yes, those videos do show them training with Javelins. But the “Javelins” on the front lines were fake.

    3. To those of you criticizing MSNBC for discussing this, please note that while I agree with you that it should not have been revealed to the general public, it was reported at the time in Ukrainian news sources. From an article in Kyiv Post dated May 23, 2018 and titled, “Ukraine’s armed forces test Javelins (VIDEO)”:

“Nevertheless, given the weapon’s firepower and its political significance against the backdrop of Russia’s ongoing war on Ukraine, Ukrainian officials note that the newly provided Javelins are highly unlikely to be immediately engaged in combat in the war zone. More probably, the Ukrainian Javelin teams would be deployed in the deep rear as an ultimate response to any possible Russian all-out armor offensive, and also as a signal of Washington’s continued support for Ukraine, political observers say.

“‘Yes, as of today, there are certain limitations introduced regarding Ukraine,’ Georgiy Tuka, the country’s deputy minister for occupied territories said on May 6.

“‘The provision is not to use those systems immediately on the engagement line. But there must be an understanding that this limitation can be lifted at any moment.’

“Later the U.S. demand that the Javelins must be kept out of the combat zones was confirmed by U.S. envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker.”

    1. @Kalash Operator And it’s not a part of the Corrupt Dictatorship of Russia. CDR CCCP whatever. Free the Russian people.

    2. Refresh2b Ukraine was part of Russia if you didn’t know. It’s not part of the corrupted evil US regime that is bombing 8 countries around the world right now. I guess you must be a Nazi lover. You would fit in Ukraine where Nazis are openly celebrating and have members within the Ukrainian government 😂. Free the US and Ukraine

  1. Pretty sad that republicans – who used to stand strong against Russian aggression – are now wasting all of their political capital to protect t’rump, who put stopping Russian attacks on Ukraine at risk, in order to serve his own needs.

    1. @tingle blade Yes. Well… read the latest transcripts of audio files released by the J.I.T. and the Netherlands Police. “MH17 witness appeal November 2019” – “The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) releases a new witness appeal in the criminal investigation into the downing of flight MH17 on 17 July 2014…” – “Today the JIT releases further recorded conversations.” (There is no “republics” you speak about.)

    2. Everyone, there is a “new development”! (..a new proof of Putin’s dirty lies.)

Please read the “MH17 witness appeal November 2019” – “The Joint Investigation Team releases…” – “releases further recorded conversations” – (The JIT released intercepted phone calls. …armed group called “Donetsk People’s Republic” maintained contact with Russian Government’s officials…)

  2. Whaaat? The Javelins can’t be used inside Ukraine to defend them against those evil Russian invaders? WOW! Trump is really a Russian asset and proud of it. What a piece of XXXX. trump is the most degenerate leader in history.

    1. @aussie jim Support for what? The repatriation of Crimea Inflated the Ruble. Lucky for Putin – the G8 Cartel announced Symbolic “Sanctions” so that he could blame the Inflation on the West.

Russia can not afford to take the Don Cossacks. They want to separate from Ukraine, but the entire West is against them. I have been to Ukraine and I know that they neglect regions which are not Ukrainian. Kiev is like the Dog on the Hay – wont eat it but will not give it away either.

    2. You’re being zombified!! There were two important withdrawals within a month from both sides.
Already as 5 years spelled out a peace plan – Minsk Agreements, approved by the UN Council, but for some reason Ukraine is in no hurry to fulfill them and the West ignores it in every possible way. These agreements should give autonomy to the republics and the right to national culture and language ( such a great demand in the modern world… shame ) You hear about it somewhere?! Check the information, I never lied, check!! Don’t be zombified! Don’t call me troll or bot, I am ready for rational discussion with anyone

    3. tingle blade : Having now gone and looked up both Minsk agreements and read through the information on them, I would like to point out that while it can be argued that Ukraine failed to uphold a few points, Russia did a lot to undermine them as well by repeatedly breaking ceasefires. Both Minsk agreements were essentially scrapped before the end of 2015 because they simply fell apart and couldn’t really be enforced by anyone. So while it is true that peace talks were attempted on multiple occasions, there is no such agreement in place now.

  3. Not once have I heard trump give a mention of concern for Ukraine in their struggle agian st Russian agression

    2. people dying means nothing to him. he probably won’t grieve for one person in his family when they die. he’s an empty, soulless shell.

  4. Yes, but you also have to consider who was the president of Ukraine when Obama was president. I think Barack would have extended more help if the person in power then, wasn’t so corrupt.

    1. good point. there is usually a valid reason for things being done by certain people. trump always tells half the story. he is such a liar.

  5. Wait wait wait. Trump is willing to regulate a trained military entity’s use of antitank weapons in the defense of their nation from invaders, but not a standard AR rifle in the US consistently used by domestic terrorists against Americans. The times we live in!

  6. Ordinarily I’d be appalled if a news source revealed sensitive information like that on air… but this is Trump, so it was probably Putin’s idea in the first place…

  7. The only real benefit of giving/selling lethal weapons to Ukraine seems to be to increase the profits of US armaments manufacturers.

    1. ruth depew

And let me add, it happens also with money the Europeans pour into Ukraine. More money over the years than they got from the US, by the way. A fact that is contrary to trump’s claim they arent ponying up enough aid.

    2. @Ganiscol Yep. With these conditions – well at least nightvision, radar and other equipments were of actual use to them. This is just govt-corporate selfdealing at the cost of thousands of lives they pretent to be helping.

  8. Who put those constraints on javelin use? Not Congress, right?
Any doubt still that Trump is a Russian agent?
What can Putin have on him? Can’t bee just a pee tape… Receipts for undeclared revenue? For billions that he laundered for Russian oligarchs?

    1. Jorge Stolfi

One thing he surely has is a record of a certain call between trump and sondland from a restaurant in Ukraine in July. A call that has, according to two witnesses, impeachable content to it…

Needless to say, there is most probably a lot more than that.

    2. that’s what i want to know. who put that stipulation on them? wtf good are weapons in an armory miles away? this guy is something else. did he even send the ammo for them? yes, there is more to this whole sordid story. whatever putin & probably erdogan, have on him, i hope it gets exposed.

    1. SkyGemini : Nope, it’s legit. The part about the Javelins being barred from frontline use is, at least; I haven’t independently checked the story about them using logs as stand-ins yet. According to a May 2, 2018 article in Kyiv Post titled, “Ukraine’s armed forces test Javelins (VIDEO)”:

“Nevertheless, given the weapon’s firepower and its political significance against the backdrop of Russia’s ongoing war on Ukraine, Ukrainian officials note that the newly provided Javelins are highly unlikely to be immediately engaged in combat in the war zone. “Later the U.S. demand that the Javelins must be kept out of the combat zones was confirmed by U.S. envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker.”

  9. So, there crumbles the trumpublican “defense” of “But Obama did not provide them with weapons!”.
Which, of course, has nothing to do with the scandal at hand in the first place.

    1. yllbardh : I agree with you, but Ukrainian sources at the time had already reported that they were not going to be used on the frontlines. From an article published in Kyiv Post on May 23, 2018 titled, “Ukraine’s armed forces test Javelins (VIDEO)”:
