The main thing to be aware of is that Biden supporters all LOVE THIS #bidentouchingkids
You are a troll. Your account was created last week.
@RAZORBL879 You are sick and you LOVE THIS #bidentouchingkids
The fact you have to invent false claims about Biden, prove there is nothing you can truly say against him.
JFK was the only decent American president in living history…
…and America could not abide him…
…hence Trump, and the lingering threat of dictatorship.
@Life is better when I do something. We know that the Vietnam war would have had a different conclusion as well. Whether better or worse, who knows. But both LBJ and Nixon milked it for their own ends. JFK was more of the “get me closure on this now” type rather than the “let’s stay in this quagmire” Bush type.
@Tessmage Tessera according to whom? You? Approving something and tolerating are two different things
If not for JFK, sending advisors into Vietnam, we would have never entered that war. Vietnam hung over the heads, of my generation, like a guillotine. Many of my male friends went to college, when they’d have preferred to stay home on the ranch, to avoid that conflict. The fear of the enlistment of females tanked the Equal Rights Act. Countless vets came home with heroine addictions. Vietnam tore apart the fabric of our society. Much of the animus between political opponents arises from that era. Don’t sing JFK’s praises to anyone who lived through it.
@Tessmage Tessera No, they did not. The people blamed him and LBJ for Vietnam. If JFK had lived, he would have had all the blame. The right hated for being liberal. The liberals hated him for the war.
@Deborah Freedman I kinda sorta agree with you. But as a veteran, I kinda don’t. There’s a big dividing line in between JFK’s policy of advisors (that’s Special Forces) being sent to train an LN (Local National) military, and sending real units of troops and ordnance in the hundreds of thousands. It’s a nuance lost on untutored civilians, but not on people who’ve been in the military. It can easily be said that you send Special Forces to help political ally client nations when you DON’T want to get involved in a war. A REAL war. It’s happening right now, been happening for 65 years, and it’s kept us out of numerous ugly large scale conflicts. We have teams of Green Berets all over the globe doing it 24/7, especially in AFRICOM (Africa). And they are very good at what they do, which is temper a brushfire war so it doesn’t turn into a major bloodbath.
JFK and Johnson did not agree with each other on the scale of the Vietnam problem, or even where they fully stood on the issue. When Kennedy was killed, Johnson immediately enacted his plans to send real Combat Units to Vietnam in 1985. JFK is on the record several times stating he didn’t want to end up in another Korean war, but was obligated to oppose Communism on the world stage _and_ respond to the methods of North Vietnamese, even though the South Vietnamese regimes were hideously corrupt, and the bulk of the South Vietnamese populace voted for Bao Dai’s party in the State Referendum of 1955. But, as we now know, Diem rigged that election with the help of Colonel Edward Lansdale and Ngo Dinh Nhu that year. People also forget that alot of the divide wasn’t just about Communism, but also a Religious divide. Vietnamese Catholics held major sway in the South. The Republic of South Vietnam didn’t even technically exist until that rigged election, 7 years before Kennedy was even POTUS. And that was the flashpoint. It goes back to the early 50’s. The French were (rightly) booted out, and a power struggle appeared. De Gualle bears the brunt of the responsibility, really. He cheerled the US into getting involved when we had a “meh” stance, we even had friendly relations with Ho Chi Minh and tried to temper the French abuse of the Vietnamese.
Edit: But it was LBJ who blew it up into the meat grinder we lament today, and Nixon for stretching it out for his own gain. That’s all I’m trying to say, and why I think JFK would have stuck to his stance of avoiding that. He was a bit impatient, wanted decisive results. The Vietnam War wouldn’t allow either of those.
Give me a break!!! As Wernher Von Braun got us to the moon, BioNTech, Germany got us a vaccine for what should have never been allowed to become global problem
There are several vaccines. If given a choice, I’d prefer the Moderna vaccine. It is also mRNA, but does not have as extreme storage requirements as the Pfizer vaccine does, there are less chances of human error messing it up.
Yet another book being shilled by MSNBC? Thank you “no” I will wait for the movie.
You’ve obviously missed the point of why these authors and the info they have written about are relevant to the topic being discussed. Listen and learn.
@Susan Guyot MSNBC has been selling books for the past week. _’Tis the season to make money… fa la la la la, la la la la._
@Susan Guyot Many years ago – and the trail grows dim – a teacher in grade school told us “Listen to learn and learn to listen.”. I must remain skeptical of anything MSNBC – for entertainment only – is involved with.
“Wait for the movie”
Have you been asleep over the last 3 years and missed the recent movies and mini series rehashing the moon landings?
Your movie(s) are already out, my guy.
@Jack B Jack it is like this – as a kid – oh a long time ago – our Sunday paper had a supplement which was a poster depicting all the U.S. rockets and why the U.S.S.R. was far behind. Mom and dad even let me tape the poster to my bedroom wall. Well about a week later the “Suptnik” was launched. Had I been lied to?
Mahboob ko baten Suna Suna Kar phansaya he
I got to see Neil Armstrong step on the moon live, so that dates me. Fast look at Amazon reviews……, giving this a hard pass. Gotta research your technical stuff.
I was eleven. My mother made us stay awake all night, to see this event. She felt it was important, and was correct. Yeah, the reviews aren’t great, and say the book focuses more on JFK than the scientists and astronauts, and is full technical errors. I’ll pass too.
guess what? They fooled you. It was all a Hoax played out on B&W tell lie vision.
Read this one. Great book.
NASA’s and SpaceX’s livestreams have made Space work more popular then ever.
Just look at the viewer count right now of people simply watching the livestreams of earth spin under the ISS. Tens of thousands of people basically watching an orbital screen saver at any given moment. Because it means that much to them.
People have been waiting for the return of Science getting mankind up there again. And they’ve been waiting too long.
Rockets, moonshots. Spend it on the have-nots.
The space program has given the world microchips and teflon. The world would be an inferior place without the advances in computer science that made possible. The space program benefitted the world.
What do ya mean, “It’s Monday”? What happen to the weekend?
With covid isolation, one day bleeds into the next, and we all lose track of time.
President Trump is the Godfather of the Artemis moon program. The first strip club on the moon will be named in his honor.
