The U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt is evacuating thousands of crew members after the captain wrote to his superiors, pleading with them to protect his sailors as coronavirus infected at least 93 on board.

Aircraft Carrier Capt. Begs Navy For Help As 93 Sailors Test Positive For COVID-19 | All In | MSNBC
Trump still has 50% approval. I’m starting to think it’s not Trump, it’s just Americans
OMG, I think you are right!
DR.X
Trumpanzee still don’t acknowledge than they lost the civil war. They are stuck and vengeful.
@April Harris should be 90%approval but still the haters and do nothing democrat with there fake poll and dake mews
The very latest poll, published by the Trumpest poll agency, Rasmussen (which sample only likely voters) , shows that tRump ´s approval is suddenly and dramatically declining. The Rasmussen March polls showed Trump 51% and 49% approval, but suddenly, just yesterday, Rasmussen published that tRump is down to 44% !!
@Roman Holloway just 99% of the south is racists.
Why should the Navy have to beg ?
Club Soda American government is full of filthy stupid politician, don’t trust them. wearing mask and stay home to stop this virus separate.
rongan lee Lets not pretend this is some American problem.
Captain was removed for it because someone in the Pentagon leaked the plea for help
Because the Navy is weak.
@Seawolf Good luck with that!
Wow that’s scary it takes only one infected person to infect everyone .
It only took one POTUS to destroy America
@Lance Shepler How do you not know what asymptomatic means by now? People can be carriers and spreaders of the virus and feel fine.
The important thing is that the commander got relieved.
Don’t push it OBA, it’s not working like that if you WASH AND STAY, it’s reserve to the nutties who don’t do it. Get it ?! Gerry
They have more than 100 tested positive, none has been hospitalized, probably do not even have any symptom. These are about the most healthy people in the society. Can anyone explain to me why this is scary?
And that’s just one ship. 🤔
@Justin Shim Agreed. Was just thinking how quickly an entire crew could succumb.
@arjaygee⅛¼¼⅙⅛ the number in the billions Æáa ÁÄÄGOSY Ŕ=¹QED²4¼¼½
Yup, everybody is trying to keep it on the hush
@Death To Ming! That’s why the captain was terminated. And the caption at that level knew he would be terminated. That’s why he must send copies of the memo to crewmembers. Or he could disappear instead of mere termination.
@urdbest of course he knew. His crew gave him a great send off. He protected his crew. That’s what being an American is all about. At least that is what it was all about before traitor Trump.
GOD BLESS HIM FOR PUTTING HIS SAILORS LIVE ABOVE HIS OWN
@Pedro Cacela whatever you say dude.
@Cuz R he would have gotten sick eventually if nothing was dond.
Ryan M 😂
@Felix Aduba if their SOP worked, y he exposed it to the public? Maybe he had to let public know to draw attention and get help. And that’s sad
Felix Aduba
While taking almost a week to do anything to rescue the sailors
It’s good fortune no sailor has been lost
Blood pen pushers. This is not a common cold. It would like the captain not allowing sailors to abandon ship whilst the ship was sinking
As a Marine veteran who has served aboard amphibious naval ships, I can tell you that you can’t even stop the common cold from spreading on a naval ship. If one person in your berthing compartment gets it, everyone will have it within days.
@ihave35cents public school have been passing kids for just showing up the thirty years or so. Everybody get a diploma.
@꧁T͓̽i͓̽t͓̽t͓̽y͓̽F͓̽r͓̽o͓̽s͓̽t͓̽e͓̽r͓̽M͓̽c͓̽D͓̽r͓̽a͓̽m͓̽a͓̽꧂ Americans look death in the face everyday when the sun rises and smile because we know we are free.
@Josh Gates Trump knew about this way before January. The impeachment is only an excuse. He had time for rallies and golfing during the impeachment process. He had time to make deals in China during the impeachment process. He had time to blow it off during the impeachment process. If you are telling me he couldn’t do anything because of an impeachment hearing, you are basically saying he can’t obviously multi-task. Get real. I thought the numbers would be down to zero by now.
@Cassidy Smith All of Washington had their hand tied with impeachment hearings politicians couldn’t see the world was on fire around them. Politicians were telling everyone to go out in the middle of February all is well and have fun that was democrats and republicans both.
Thank You!
Praying for our first responders, including our soldiers and countries around the world. 🙏
Thank you all for risking your lives to save ours. Stay at home,so we can save our heroes.
🤔yall like using that word “hero”alot huh?wat are they doing thats heroic?sailing a ship makes u heroic?being in the military makes someone heroic?smh
@Jim Battersbee 😂😂😂😂truth
want to take care of “our” soldiers? end the empire. only fools think the military is there to protect “us.” it’s a corporate police force for the corporate empire of america.
You idiots really think they are “risking their lives to save ours”..!? Smh
A Russian officer (retired) is worried about the tragedy. There is a translation (From): https://youtu.be/XVjwOh6zhZI
I served 12 years in the Navy. I got sick at least once per cruise.
The disease rarely kills men who are younger and physically fit. And even then, only if they are obese, diabetic or have cardiac problems.
Every winter when i served we went south to Caribbean for winter. No flu or other crap. Closest I came being worried about having anything was when being transferred out. Had to see docters. Noticed a line of sailors. Asked what they were waiting in line for! They had STDs. Thats when i sweeted a little bit worried did i catch something from a whorehouse in Singapore. Noticed they were all younger guys. No E4 or above. You always ask or go with higher ranking shipmates to safe bars and women! Some of the older guys married stayed away from chasing skirt but did get drunk and bet on who could find the ugliest women in port to take to dinner and then they would pick who won the pot!
So you were patient 1?
Jean Vandorst
Not true anymore
@Ricky 1 Why?
I was on the USS John C. Stennis if one person gets sick everyone will soon be sick there’s no way for social distancing on a ship.
FFG 54 small boys rock and roll lol
What about cleaning the ventilation system, replacing filters?
Thank you for your service Sir.
@William Young
Won’t work, this virus appears to be aerosol not just droplet based transmission meaning that anyone within an enclosed environment is likely infected.
Only way it could be worse is on a submarine. But subs dont have a crew of 5000.
That is leadership. Knowing your career is over by taking drastic measures to save your men.
Comfort Living I’d court marshal him. A captain of an aircraft carrier does not write BS to San Francisco news papers oddly in Nancy Pelosi land. I was a BS political stunt for nothing. The navy did everything well and would have with or without the political stunt
@jamie oxenreider Dullard lol, yep.
@jamie oxenreider STFU you moron. He could not get help. He tried and they kept putting him off. You are pos degenerate and just ANOTHER keyboard camando. Go lick a handrail.
@jamie oxenreider you will defend incompetence and lack of leadership, because you are tied to rogue Trump and the callous Republican Party.
@Comfort Living Career over is better than committing suicide over depression.
Salute to the commanding officer for stepping up and using his voice
Whistle blower, Fired
@frances simmonds yup. His crew saluted him as he was leaving.
@a. barker no doubt his crew will be happy to testify on behalf of their captain if it gets that far. They know he saved their lives.
Terminated
@Tony Yang He should sue for wrongful whistle blower termination
I have massive respect for this commander. A rare example of someone who should be in a leadership position.
Trump has already relieved him
Whistle blower, Fired
Too bad his career is over
And now they relieve the captain who requested help?
Criminal.
“Captain Brett Crozier, was relieved showing extremely poor judgment and creating a firestorm by too widely disseminating the memo detailing his concerns”. Well I think the sailors are on Croziers side!
The crew would also applaud the Captain refusing to engage the enemy since doing so would endanger them.
@Analog Human that was an incredibly ridiculous comment
Who discharged him learned from president trump to fire people left and right. After all the president is their commander in chief.
Captain Crozier is a hero. He sacrificed his own career for the wellbeing of his crew. That took real courage.
Too bad Trump thinks that writing a letter and leaving a trail of evidence is more important to hide , than to protect the fighting men and women of our country. If you are a commander of our armed forces, what is the point of having an empty, crewless aircraft carrier and jets? He’s putting our country at risk, all for his ego. They are now limiting knowledge of the breakdown of who has the virus, even the families might not know. How sad is that to know that your son or daughter, husband, wife, died without you knowing, that it was purposely kept from you because it would hurt Trump’s election chances?
One of the greatest captains in the Navy “dismissed ” by a coward who claimed bone spurs to avoid serving his country when called upon! Billionaire Daddy!
He was at others’ command as well, not the final decision maker
I, As a Retired Navy Sailor who has served 21+ yrs as an OPERATIONS SPECIALIST & INTEL /ORBITAL ANALYST onboard Naval Ships (CVN, LHA, DDG) There are Board Meetings called all day long throughout the day discussing everything about the ship…From the Personnel onboard, rations, fuel, stores, maintenance, running lights for safety, port calls, and navigation to flight quarters. I’ve drafted/generated hundreds of these (SITREP, OPREP, etc.) to be routed up the Chain of Command for decimation. All these things require reports to be sent out to “Big Navy”. So I’m sure classified msg traffic was sent out correctly as it should’ve been from the time they left Vietnam and had their first few COVID-19 cases onboard.
……I say all this to say that No One was blindsided. Capt.Brett Crozier asking assistance may have fell on deaf ears – and even with DESRON Strike Group 9 CDR onboard, Capt. Crozier (the Commanding Officer of the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt) is still responsible and held accountable for all personnel onboard that ship. So to cover his own azz and to let it be known to others within the chain of command onboard how he felt and what his recommendations for his crew were … he took necessary steps to Put It In Writing and send it to those who he stressed his dire need to get his sailors off the ship and aiding those who were sick. – We all know that if it’s not in writing it never was said and from my experiences with situations like this I honestly think this is what prompted the 4page letter. Now, the person who released it took it upon themselves to do so on the expense on the CO… But at least Capt.Brett Crozier stood tall and lived up to his core values, For that Shipmate BRAVO ZULU!
Try living on an aircraft carrier where ur sleeping on coffin racks stacked 3 on top of each other 6 inside a cubicle and 200 to one berthing compartment. You’re standing nut to butt in the chow line to get you daily meal ration and sitting elbow to elbow, kneecap to kneecap in the galley. You can’t always wash your clothes due to water being restricted, everyone walks down the same passageways breathing the same confined air, everyone goes down the ladder backs touching the handrails all day because they are narrow, everyone touches the metal latch bar to open and close the water tight door behind them, Intel/ operations, engineering, air crewmen, damage control men, lookout watches etc. all have to use the same equipment to work, the same headpiece or sound powered-headphones to talk …So as he said— There Is No Space For Social Distancing Onboard That Ship or Any Naval Vessel.
A Russian officer (retired) is worried about the tragedy. There is a translation (From): https://youtu.be/XVjwOh6zhZI
Captain sacrificed his career and life for the well being of his crew; something our comander in chief knows nothing about.
A Russian officer (retired) is worried about the tragedy. There is a translation (From): https://youtu.be/XVjwOh6zhZI
And the captain was fired for his efforts to save the lives of Americans and fellow shipmates.
Talk about insult to injury.
Shame on these political appointees.
The US navy tries to silence him by removing him off command is like China tried to silence the doctor who warned about the virus, both are just disgusting.
I’ve travel around the world, one thing I have realized: none governments are clean, all politicians are dirty. Doesn’t matter it is a democrocy or not.
