  1. It’s garbage that someone can do that for decades then be like “hey, my bad” and then everyone is supposed to be like oh okay it’s all good. LIke he didnt’ cause untold amounts of damage.

    1. Seems abit closed minded , if his words and actions arnt worth something where would we ever draw a line to be positive in a situation like this?? Or is there no such thing as redemption or growth?

  2. “There has never been a successful movement based on hate,”

“Nazis? Losers. The Confederacy? Losers. The apartheid movement? Losers. And the list goes on and on.”

    Arnold Schwarzenegger

  3. They can’t let hate go! Any individual is free to follow any ideology but has no right to turn that belief into going after different groups to inflict harm.

  4. Heartening to see a person indoctrinated to heavily, able to open their eyes and make a humbling, growth filled leap into the good this world can be. 🤙🏼

    1. We have actually been experiencing this in a big way with the church. That too is some heavy indoctrination

    2. We can be certain that if president Trump were president now Come back Mr President, make America great again, and bring US peace there would be no war affecting Ukraine and Europe today🎉❤

  5. Thank you for this interview. Conversations with others who are the victims of the words and deeds makes a difference. Those connections do make a difference and understanding.

    1. @Mark Warren Why don’t we ask the parents of children who died by suicide because of online bullying? Maybe you should familiarize yourself with the concepts of libel, defamation, and rape culture. And are you seriously unaware of racial slurs and death threats? People can absolutely be victimized by words.

  6. If you can muster the strength – not only to walk away from a life filled with hatred – but also to take a pretty hard look at it and gain a completely new perspective, you probably turned it around, like, 100%. Good for you, man👍

    1. “If you want to make the world
      a better place,
      take a look at yourself
      and make that change.
      Man in the mirror.”

Those with empathy can do this, those without, it’s doubtful.

  7. GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK MR. AVALON & THANKS FOR THIS ESSENTIAL COMMENTARY ON THIS TOPIC 👍🏾👍😀

  8. “The green reed which bends in the wind is stronger than the mighty oak which breaks in a storm.” -confucious, good reads.

And like with osiris the cave lionen/snake, that brought the world law, religion, education, and farming; and isis that brought the world medicine, healing, and beer brewing.

  9. Imagine not realising for 27 years that spreading hate and violence has a negative impact on your victims.

    1. Right? I mean, I’m glad this interviewee denounced his hateful belief system and began to fight against it. However, I’m really tired of hearing news stories about “A White Man Discovers Empathy” as though it’s a groundbreaking idea.

  10. They’re is a great documentary on Daryl Davis. He does amazing work and it’s something everyone can learn from him.

  11. All that hate must be such a heavy weight on these peoples hearts. Anger and hate doesn’t make anyone happy or lives better.

    1. Eats you from the inside out. Working on my anger problems over 5 years was the best thing I ever did. My life & especially my relationship with those I love has improved 100 fold.
I see these redhats as lost angry people searching for passion and using hate to attempt to fill it. I was on a path 10yrs ago that easily could have led me to 1/6 type of actions. The intolerance I experienced while engaging with these people drove me away. Thank god

  12. the groups don’t get along. He let that slide without probing. I want to know more about that.

  13. A rare story, that someone realizes something and is willing to change their course. There is always hope and time for growth.

  14. Sometimes it’s easy to cry out for Redemption when you walk in the footsteps of those who are suffering🤔

    1. I hear ya, but we have to be willing to give these people a pathway OUT from that destructive bull$hit. It would be destructive of ourselves & our Country if we didn’t.
We don’t wanna be likkke them!

    2. @UberLummox yo I’m agreeing with you right there we live our lives so much battling monsters but eventually if we don’t be careful we may become monsters ourselves 🤔
