Glider pilots will recognize that the raven was exploiting ‘ridge lift’ from boundary air flowing over the vehicle. Some gliders travel nearly 1000 miles when geohraphical features and prevailing winds allow.
It could smell the food in the car, (cat treats), and it worked on previous occasions.
Remember ravens never forget.
