@Blank – Struth – I mean I know in the UK it has got bad in the 10 years since i left due to the chronic underinvestment by the right-wing government. When I left it was 24 to 72 hours to get an appointment and I know now its more like a week. But are these times you are quoting “normal” or exceptions? I mean I am sure I can find someone in Bulgaria who waited 3 weeks. I have never waited more than 24 hours.
THAT SAID – they have mobile surgeries that go round the villages once a week or 2 weeks so the old people dont have to travel to a town to see a doctor. Same with MRI units as well – we have mobile MRI’s that go round the villages. They are VERY big on preventative medicine here. They really try to stop you getting ill in the first place.

Pissed off Paula , if you have insurance and you still have to wait over a month for an appointment, maybe its time to find a new doctor? One of the perks of not being forced into Gov’t healthcare is that you have that option/choice.
@Eric W No I have been trying to get into a group of urology doctors for over a month. Things are not great out here.
The Government of Finland fell because the healthcare reform was a cash-grab attempt by the private sector so they could get more patients and therefore; money. They fought years for it, right-wing politicians had already moved to head those private companies. Then it all came down after it was decided that is was unconstitutional.
Our healhcare works, and it is cheap.

@Mulinaster Also Finland is still relatively ethnically homogeneous. When a country has a high population of white people then it can easily afford health care for all. But when it is multicultural and the white demographic is in decline then so too does the general over all well-being of a place.

Mulinaster , different ethnic groups typically have different types of health challenges. Thats not uncommon. For example, Blacks typically have higher rates of diabetes and heart disease compared to asians or whites.

Hold up. Finland’s biggest healthcare problem is that in rural areas it can take weeks for a poor person to see a doctor? Here in the US in rural areas if you’re poor you’re not seeing a doctor. Even if you can see one it will break you financially. Come on CNN. This is really shameful.
Arie – Where I live you can see a doctor for 40 dollars at a walk in clinic. They have these walk in clinics all over the US in small towns and rural areas. In one day that doctor might see 50 people, so 50×40 = 2000 dollars per day, which is pretty darn good money for the doctor.

Poppen – They just said that the wait times in Finland for healthcare are almost 2 months, but you say their system is better than the US system? I took my mother to the hospital yesterday, and she was admitted the same day for a diabetic foot ulcer. If she would have been in Finland, she would have had to wait over a month and probably would have lost her foot from the infection. They put her on IV antibiotics the same day she was admitted. She has Blue Cross insurance and only pays 200 dollars per month.
Finland has a much higher concentration of white people though. Thats why it worked.
@My 2nd amendment is a right not a need I have been waiting 4 yrs for dental care in California. Still not getting it and when prescribed Epi-pen 2 yrs ago ,the doctor gave me script that wasn’t fully covered by health insurance.
And what Newsom is giving Sanctuary Cities by allocated funds alone,would fully cover costs of citizens needing proper dental care.
But rates set so low on State services for it,most dentists don’t get paid treating low income ppl.
Resulting in me getting blood cancer that would have been prevented if Democrats weren’t stingy on the dollar for citizens.
