The Dominica Citizens Forum in conjunction with other social partners will host an interactive consultation with returning Dominicans on the state of the economy on Thursday March 3, 2011 at the Garraway Hotel in Roseau. Economist Dr. Thomson Fontaine will lead the consultation with a presentation on the state of the economy.
A team of local private sector business persons including Sevarin McKenzie, owner of the newly established manufacturing firm of Nature Isle Paper Products, Sam Raphael owner of Jungle Bay Resort & Spa, and Darwin Telemacque owner of Tropical Farm Produce Ltd will provide valuable information to Dominicans considering going into business and will engage the audience in an interactive discussion on matters related to their areas of expertise.
According to Dr Fontaine, the consultation will focus on the critical role that Dominicans living abroad can play in contributing to the country’s economic and social development. The consultation will take a hard look at the economic climate of our island and will examine practical ways in which Dominicans living abroad and those residing locally can combine their efforts to help bring much needed development to Dominica.
All Dominican civic organizations and political parties are invited to listen and to provide input. All Dominicans returning for the Carnival celebrations and residents concerned about the state of our economy are strongly encouraged to attend and to participate in this consultation.
The consultation is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Thursday March 3, 2011 at the Garraway Hotel at the Bay Front in Roseau.
